Hi Travis, I’m delighted to say I passed first time in Sunderland today with 1 minor. Can I just say this video helped me so much as my test was at 1pm and all morning I was panicking and my heart was racing. When I watched this video it put me at ease and when I got in the car with the examiner I just switched off and went into driving mode. By the time I was asked to turn into the test centre I was amazed by how fast the test went. Thank you again, you are a life saver!

Hi I had my driving test today at 10.14am. I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it. Then I had a 1 hour lesson before the test,i made a few mistakes which helped me because I kept saying to myself waiting in test centre do not make them mistakes again. during the test the examiner pointed to a road sign behind a tree as I looked I wasn't 100% sure it said 30mph,so I continued at 20mph that's where I picked up a minor fault for appropriate speed.i passed with 1 minor fault :).
My driving test is tomorrow! My anxiety is really bad I'm just hoping it doesn't mess with my chance of passing, I just have to remember to take my time and not rush. Thank you for these videos it does help!

I failed my test today cos of nerves :| My leg was shaking and I stalled 4 times (twice in one place) in the duration of the test and the examiner failed me for that.. It sucks because the 2 hour lesson before it I didn't stall once!

My test is on Tuesday, I’m usually a good driver and do most things well. I’ve had two mock tests and once my instructor takes out the mock sheet I forget how to drive. 1st mock test I put the clutch in before breaking every time and coasted a lot, I never do that! The second one my gear changes were all over the place, they were so jerky and are usually so smooth. I thought I had a good chance at passing but now I’m so nervous and I think I’ll fail 😞

I'm getting so fed up of taking these tests 😭😭. It's a really traumatic experience and I have ended up I tears in 4 out of the 5 tests I've failed. They've all gone terrible. One of the tests I didn't get that upset as I thought I had passed but when I was told I had failed it's made me worse because I feel that I can't do any better than that and what am I going to do to get them to pass me. I've cried all day about my next test a few weeks away. I am at uni and need to be able to drive to get the job I want i can't give up or there would be no point in being at uni. Other wise I would of given up long ago. Any tips would be great I'll try anything I've been regularly getting upset about this my instructed and husband say I drive well. I don't drive well in tests! Thanks

+Veersajan Singh this could be two things. Your seating position. You could be too far away from clutch pedal causing lack of control, or too close causing no control. The other thing could be you are driving on roads that are too busy for you at this moment. So try practice on quiet roads so to improve the control.

That's the thing - even if you don't feel like eating, you need to put some food into your system if you want to counteract the anxiety, it's the only feasible way around it. It works.
watching these videos as I get extremely nervous on my test, I always drive very well in my lessons but mess up on my test as I get so nervous! 5th time lucky tomorrow hopefully!
Aidy Skerman did you pass? If not, you can search for a driving test hypnosis/meditation. That may help with your nerves. I just did one with positive affirmations that I am a calm and confident driver. Hoping to pass today! :)

For the guys who are going for test: I HAVE FAILED TWO TIMES, and I was fed up I almost give up to go for test cause I thought I’m good driver especially when u have driving experience. But the truth it’s not about assessors or luck. JUST LEARN THE RULES FOLLOW THE RULES AND MOST IMPORTANTLY PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, I have pumped the fuels more than two times and I showed 3rd time with me car after I got too many practice. And now successfully passed. My advice to the guys who are going to do exam. 1. Never ever Panic or Hesitate 2. Believe that your best driver in the wold and you are going to teach how to drive to assessors 3. Never ever speed up 4. Never ever competitive with experience driver 5. Just follow the rules 6. Don’t care about other drivers just be calm and slow and drive 7. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE My best wishes to the guys who are going to do the exam. Remember if you fail never give up if pass never forget the mistakes that you have done . Libby Protheroe if you are nervous don’t worry just have bubble gum or any sweets 🍬 and put some calm music or turn on some music that u like, assessors won’t say anything. I failed my first test because of nervousness, got 4 serious, 1 overtaking a cyclist too close, 2 stopping on meeting,3 right side lane change,4 roundabout taking left from middle ( not using the cyclist lane basically) booked again for 13 June... I was tooo much nervous and my examinar was a really strict and rude guy,,, wish me luck

I failed today, within the first 10 minutes, 2 serious faults getting to close to parked cars on the left. I was a bag of nerves. I have done numerous lessons and mocks without a single minor. The instructor when I asked him to repeat his direction snapped "can't you understand what I'm saying?" it threw me off, I already told him I was feeling nervous. It's my own fault. I watched this video last night and felt calm. Sometimes it just doesn't go your way. 2nd test booked and lessons for next week booked. To anyone reading this, relax, you will be your own worst enemy, you know you can drive, trust yourself, drive safe. God bless.

Driving examiner chose two manoeuvres instead of just one and made me pull over many, many times - last one in a really, really tricky spot where she knew I would fail. I only had six minors and then she purposely pressed the breaks when I was about to press them myself. She failed me on purpose. I think she was biased because my driving instructor is black and I have a German accent. She looked at us funny from the start. Hope I will have a different examiner in my new test 4th of July ‘22.

I failed my first test last week, tomorrow is the second try. I do SO well on my lessons. SO well. But as soon as that assessor got in the car i was so scared. I was crying all week.
O God the examinator was saying to me , "Go, go " i feel that he was so rude pushing me to do more and more mistakes .. he was not polite at all...and not give me the opportunity to put in park and brake by pulling on the left side he was saying "Go, ,go...i was nearly to tell him .. what about POM routine, how to go like a cow or what.. but i was quiet and professional, also his chair was so low and it was the time to do my parallel park i couldn't see the corner of the parked car to do my reference point ... 😢disaster..

Suffering apprehension before any test is commonplace, but is totally different to the sheer panic some are faced with, when they find themselves involved in emergency situations. That's where many lesser experienced drivers can quickly loose control of their vehicles. Many accidents caused typically by panicking, then over-braking and/or over-steering in a split second reaction, especially when you're travelling at motorway speeds. Advanced driver training courses can however prepare against some of the more adverse driving conditions we may hope never to experience, especially if you're the kind of person that believes your driving test was a stressful experience. Metal becomes very pliable at speed! This is my opinion, I could be wrong.
Any advice someone could give me. I'm petrified. I'm trying to think about all the nice things I can do once I have passed to try and spur myself on. But after having being driving for about a year I'm just fed up and can't believe how much it's costing me.

Hi Can I ask please why is it that the driving test are like very odd times for example mine was at 10:14 but why not at 10:15 or other times I’ve heard it to be 11:29 why not 11:30, just curious!!!!
The government organisation has had a time and motion study done on the DVSA. They work out that at 8am the examiner clocks in and will take 5 minutes to get themselves ready and a further 3 minutes to have the paperwork and be ready to walk out of the reception to meet the students at 8.08. Then the driving test takes in average 40 minutes, plus 5 minutes to go through the test results with students and hand out pass certificate. Then a further 5 minutes in test centre finishing off paperwork of the driving test. Then it all start again.
i failed heavy bus test 4th time and this month 24th September again i always take alot pressure someone asked me to get inderal tablet from doctor what u say sir?

The other thing could be you are driving on roads that are too busy for you at this moment. So try practice on quiet roads so to improve the control.

That's the thing - even if you don't feel like eating, you need to put some food into your system if you want to counteract the anxiety, it's the only feasible way around it. It works.

For the guys who are going for test:
I HAVE FAILED TWO TIMES, and I was fed up I almost give up to go for test cause I thought I’m good driver especially when u have driving experience. But the truth it’s not about assessors or luck. JUST LEARN THE RULES FOLLOW THE RULES AND MOST IMPORTANTLY PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, I have pumped the fuels more than two times and I showed 3rd time with me car after I got too many practice. And now successfully passed. My advice to the guys who are going to do exam.
1. Never ever Panic or Hesitate
2. Believe that your best driver in the wold and you are going to teach how to drive to assessors
3. Never ever speed up
4. Never ever competitive with experience driver
5. Just follow the rules
6. Don’t care about other drivers just be calm and slow and drive
7. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
My best wishes to the guys who are going to do the exam. Remember if you fail never give up if pass never forget the mistakes that you have done . All the very best, I’m pretty sure that you will pass the test, all the success will come to you Practice well. God Bless You always. Driver safe!

I failed my first test because of nervousness, got 4 serious, 1 overtaking a cyclist too close, 2 stopping on meeting,3 right side lane change,4 roundabout taking left from middle ( not using the cyclist lane basically) booked again for 13 June... I was tooo much nervous and my examinar was a really strict and rude guy,,, wish me luck

I failed today, within the first 10 minutes, 2 serious faults getting to close to parked cars on the left. I was a bag of nerves. I have done numerous lessons and mocks without a single minor. The instructor when I asked him to repeat his direction snapped "can't you understand what I'm saying?" it threw me off, I already told him I was feeling nervous. It's my own fault. I watched this video last night and felt calm. Sometimes it just doesn't go your way. 2nd test booked and lessons for next week booked. To anyone reading this, relax, you will be your own worst enemy, you know you can drive, trust yourself, drive safe. God bless.

Driving examiner chose two manoeuvres instead of just one and made me pull over many, many times - last one in a really, really tricky spot where she knew I would fail. I only had six minors and then she purposely pressed the breaks when I was about to press them myself. She failed me on purpose. I think she was biased because my driving instructor is black and I have a German accent. She looked at us funny from the start. Hope I will have a different examiner in my new test 4th of July ‘22.

This helped me so much! Passed first time with 4 minors yesterday! I suffer from really bad anxiety and was so nervous but the test isn’t as bad as it seems! I felt like I was going to failed and my driving wasn’t as good as normal but I was safe which is the main thing!

In my country u have to do the test with a policeman/woman , and the instructor has to sit in the back , it’s so stressful , u feel pressured by 2 people , I really hope I pass this time , it’s my 3rd test , Iam so sick of driving lessons I feel like iam wasting my time and money

O God the examinator was saying to me , "Go, go " i feel that he was so rude pushing me to do more and more mistakes .. he was not polite at all...and not give me the opportunity to put in park and brake by pulling on the left side he was saying "Go, ,go...i was nearly to tell him .. what about POM routine, how to go like a cow or what.. but i was quiet and professional, also his chair was so low and it was the time to do my parallel park i couldn't see the corner of the parked car to do my reference point ... 😢disaster..

Suffering apprehension before any test is commonplace, but is totally different to the sheer panic some are faced with, when they find themselves involved in emergency situations. That's where many lesser experienced drivers can quickly loose control of their vehicles. Many accidents caused typically by panicking, then over-braking and/or over-steering in a split second reaction, especially when you're travelling at motorway speeds. Advanced driver training courses can however prepare against some of the more adverse driving conditions we may hope never to experience, especially if you're the kind of person that believes your driving test was a stressful experience.

Any advice someone could give me. I'm petrified. I'm trying to think about all the nice things I can do once I have passed to try and spur myself on. But after having being driving for about a year I'm just fed up and can't believe how much it's costing me.

Come up with a plan with your instructor.
Plan:
1. What needs to improve on my driving?
2. How many hours more do I need to sort out number 1.
3. Are you ready to have a mock driving test?
4. What does your instructor think you will be ready to take the test?
I think it was so I didn't have to use public transport anymore. I hate catching the bus and having to do it in all weathers.
My instructor wore a high viz vest in mock test and that helped my crippling nerves

So today I had my first driving test but only 2 minutes I quit and terminated the test cause my legs shaked so bad I pulled out junction when I shouldn’t and he had to use his brakes and I knew I had fail and I suffer anxiety and a full on attack started

Can I ask please why is it that the driving test are like very odd times for example mine was at 10:14 but why not at 10:15 or other times I’ve heard it to be 11:29 why not 11:30, just curious!!!!
The government organisation has had a time and motion study done on the DVSA.
They work out that at 8am the examiner clocks in and will take 5 minutes to get themselves ready and a further 3 minutes to have the paperwork and be ready to walk out of the reception to meet the students at 8.08. Then the driving test takes in average 40 minutes, plus 5 minutes to go through the test results with students and hand out pass certificate.
Then a further 5 minutes in test centre finishing off paperwork of the driving test. Then it all start again.

If you do contact your doctor. Then try the medication before your test to see how you react
