The kid might be a pushy salesgirl BUT with a family of 8 survival is paramount! So I'm glad Troy you want to help her. She's working under the most difficult circumstances. If she doesn't sell her products her family might not have enough money for food. I would be a bit pushy to sell my product if it means the difference between eating or starving. I had a lot of stress at work before I retired BUT at least I knew if I had a bad sales day there was food in the refrigerator when I got home!
That looks so much like places that I have been to in Mississippi and Georgia. I met lots of Cambodians when I lived near Seattle in the 1990s. One guy told me that he saw the Khmer Rouge kill his mother and father. They opened Donut Shops all over the Northwest. About 20 years later we started getting Cambodian owned Donut shops in Tennessee. President Idi Amin gave the Indians 90 days to leave Uganda in 1972 and many moved to the US and to take over the US Motel Industry, we call them the Motel Indians. Cambodians have monopolized the Donut Shops.
Donut shops are huge for Cambodians. In SF Bay Area, I always go to a donut shop in Hayward. Awesome people. It's called Amy's Donuts. Everyone loves them.
So far, Troy has not run into one Donut shop, nor has he showed us a single Donut in Cambodia. Would love to hear the story behind the Donut businesses.
The kids are super adorable. Awwwwww.
Having quite the adventure Troy enjoying watching it
Just like you said an adventure. Letting life take you where it wants to. The smiles the innocence of children everywhere is precious.
I have really enjoyed these last few episodes. Lots of scenery. Loved the bats coming out of the cave. That was impressive.
