Lens caps both ends are really really bad. How Nikon allowed these to be made available to the public on their high end Binoculars is beyond common sense. My kids Fisher Price Bins have better covers.
Hi. Help me please. I wanted to buy binocular for traveling, supervision, bird watching, but I cannot choose model. Can you help me with choosing model of binocular? My budget 150-200$. Now I watch 2 brands. Nikon and Vortex. So, my questions: 1. Nikon Prostaff 7S or Vortex Diamondback? 2. Sizes and magnification, 8×42, 10×42, 10×50 which one the better?
Did you install them correctly? They are designed well if you follow the instructions to properly install them on the strap. A common mistake folks make are mishandling binoculars. You are not supposed to keep any binoculars strapped around your neck all day. The strap is primarily used to prevent dropping them and only to be used during short periods of time. The caps are designed to be retained by the straps.
They definitely do not do the bins any justice. However, there are tabs on each side of the eyepiece covers; bend these inwards to tighten the grip on the eye cups. Not perfect but it does improve the situation. I think the manufacturer intended the caps to be easily removed when spotting a subject of interest. Happy birding !
Common beginners question deserving a serious answer, techincally you can see the as far as the light comes out, you can see the Andromeda galaxy 2 millions light years away with the 1X naked eye. The real question is how big the binoculars amplify objets. This are 8x, making objects 8x bigger.

vortex diamondback 8x42 better for me..
Nikon 10x50
8x more filed of view more versatile
10x more details
Question of taste
Any idea how to tighten the hinge of the 3s 8x42?
So this isn't a review, but rater an 'unboxing' without the box and almost reading of the specifications. Meow. Thanks anyway.
Great review thanks
This isn't a "review" - its just a description 👎👎👎
The eyepiece caps are ZERO and fall off.
A shame for Nikon which saves money !

Americans measure distance in football fields.

Les bouchons d'oculaire ne tiennent pas, c'est une honte au prix de ce matériel. Nikon doit revoir le problème sinon on achète ailleurs.
