Historical buildings upgrade without changing their appearance. There is also a mod to make all buildings in a district historical, which might be interesting for you.
I've followed and played Cities Skylines since the very beginning. 1600 in game hours and countless hours spent watch RUclips videos from different builders. It's videos like this that separate you from the rest. Your various styles of creating cities are inspiring to watch and videos like this one are so well made and super helpful to so many. The way you explain everything you are doing and why you are doing it, is much appreciated. Keep you the good work mate.
Also, you've talked before about creating the illusion of scale in your cities. ie making an in game downtown feel alot bigger than it would be in real life. Hope I've explained this adequately. 😂 An in depth video on the methods you use would be so useful in the future
I grew out of watching Cities Skylines videos a few years ago but 2D20 reignited my passion, not for playing, but just watching him create. Such quality content and as you said so diverse in different series, he really has a great grasp of every aspect of the game from detailing thousands of assets and mods, to recreating fkn Springfield, to being able to naturally grow a Vanilla city.
I've followed many guides and tutorials on LUTs, map themes and complementary mods, but I never ended up with the same look as the people who made those guides and tutorials. Most of them didn't provide the exact settings they used in UEC, DC and Relight. This guide is the only one that worked for me, so I'm really thankful for your video!
OMG, bro. This was the most helpful video I've ever watched, haha. I *finally* have my game looking good! I get some REALLY weird flickering when using the TAA setting in RenderIt if anyone knows what's up with that? Thanks for this, man. Really appreciate you sharing this.
I don’t get the same results with the visual effects. Color is way worse for me. :-( It actually looks completely different at my PC and I don’t get it. It is really frustrating.
Hey man, just starting a new map loosely based on Japan and wanted to say thanks for inspiring me to get back in to the game after years and opening my eyes to what can be done through some of your more detailed builds. Looking forward to seeing what direction your new build takes.
Hey man even I have started playing this game today after years of watching videos ! Let me know what you have created and if we both can work on something together !?!?
City name suggestion: St. Jane sur Marais. It's a play on the often used French seaside city name: [city name] sur Mer. It means by the sea. In this case, since you mentioned you wanted some New Orleans kinda vibes, I changed the mer, meaning sea, to marais, meaning marsh/swamp. The St. Jane comes from the catholic saint, Jane Frances de Chantal, who is often associated with the sea. It looks very promising what you're building here! Keep up the good work. Also, it would be really cool to see some European themes throughout the city as well :)
Thanks for sharing. I really like it when creators use just a minimum number of mods. It makes the city creation go a lot faster and it reduces the chance some major Skylines update completely breaks their save and have to end the series. It's also amazing now that just a few handful of important mods can drastically improve the visuals and game play of the game.
Very useful video! I tend to get overwhelmed by long lists of mods which usually tend to crash my game as well or cause errors. This helps me a lot in understanding certain mods and how to choose them.
Remove unwanted vehicle in skip prefab by loading screen mod is more effective, because its also reduce ram usage, because the asset not loaded into game.
OMG, i was just about to give up on CS cause all i try to get a map/city to look good with mods assets etc. it doesnt work as good as the vids on youtube (i do have a good pc), still such a shame that the base game graphics suck ass!
I feel like im dumb lol, i followed all your steps for the visual settings and my settings are looking so weird... way to bright and unsharp :l really hurting my eyes
It could be more of an issue with your hardware/the resolution you are playing at, and the way that TAA (Temporal Anti-aliasing) works. I don't know what hardware you are using, but make sure you have your graphic card drivers up to date, and maybe try changing some of the settings in it's control panel and look at playing the game at a different resolution. If all options fail, just don't use anti-aliasing.
Nice! A perfect video for everyone that are not really 100% sure what mods and assets they chould use👍👍👌 Really usefull for me as well😄👍 For sure gona watch this one again!
That tree movement mod is a great idea. Haven't heard about it from anyone else... Hoping it helps with fps a little... I want them to sway and look realistic but they don't need as much motion as they have. Great find, thanks.
Did you happen to solve the strange distortions that happen to the roads when zooming the camera in? I noticed it in your Oceania series and noticed it on my Oceania map as well. Don't know if that a consequence of using a free camera mod or if it was a problem with the map or assets themselves.
hey mate can you also talk about how you make your shorelines and beaches please? let me know if you have covered this in some of your other series please. Ta
Great Video. I would like to see some history how the City or maybe a small village came to be. There is an awesome set of old mining assets on the workshop. I will look that one up when I make it Home.
He has a link to the map in the comment under the video. On the Steam Workshop - Owl's Anahita Pass - dependencies are listed on the page. It doesn't seem to be dependent on any DLC, just some downloadable assets, but I can't offer any guarantee.
Dude what's going on in Australia in terms of non-con perforation of the younger ones? I've seen such one today in Telegram, the pol-hee-hee-ce immobilized the elder one (a parent?) while the people-in-white robes chased down a girl, she fell to the floor... and there's also plenty stories of police brutality linked to the new trendy sneeze in Australia, all I'm saying is based on video materials, what's going on guys? You OK with that? On a side note, you quit being a teacher, right?
Man i love you for making this. Amazing. Ive loved cities skylines but hated the way it looks and stopped playing it because it was just such a hassle to choose the right assets and get them to work. Thank you!

@@henryattfield8979 Me too!
It’s super good for a city that doesn’t use plop the growables
Well it's a lot better than vanilla zoning. You at least have full control and also you don't get luxurious houses everywhere after two weeks

I'm happy to receive tips from a professional city creator in Cities: Skylines.
I love the old ploppable concrete brushes. Surface painter always gives me issues with pathways.
Awesome! Is there somewhere where you give the details on how to achieve the mix you used for your Field texture, for example?
Will you release the map to the Steam Workshop?
This episode should had been released so long ago
Always learning from you man 👌👌

Really that’s really nice and awesome to do that, cause ok lot of viewers well know the game but don’t really know all your seting
That flickering you refers to in trees shadows I found was a result of having grain turned on in the vanilla graphics settings tab.
