    I was a little kid in south texas watching this on our FIRST TV ever.......used to listen on the radio to it....but never knew what they looked like till TV set was bought.....I went crazy with my older sister hopping around the living room........keep on dancing

    I saw the Gentrys at a high school dance in 1963 or 1964 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. I was from 30 miles away. The Gentrys were from Memphis or somewhere.

    6/16/2020 Cool GIBSON bass, popular model in those years.

    I thought it was a nice touch that the Hullabaloo dance troupe did not feature male dancers who were taller than the female dancers. It always works best when they are all of about the same height.

      And the dancers were integrated. Actual African Americans dancing with white people. I’m sure ther were people in the South who went berserk over this. And probably more than a few up North.

    No, pretty Teri Garr was a dancer on Shindig. Shindig had it all over Hullabaloo. Watch them both. BTW, this live version is just a little bit faster that the original. Just fast enough to make it hard to dance to. Watch the GOOD Shindig version (2:22 minutes long)
