Oddly enough the Reds seem to start a losing streak, or continue one, after the All-Star break each year now in the David "Dumb" Bell tenure. Why is that? A bunch of guys who often get decent starting pitching, which many will be other teams property in the near future, to guys who seem to have this smiley face and great time striking out regularly at the plate. I guess they want to win but it looks more like they just are happy to play and check another day/game off the calendar/schedule. Be happy in your work as they say! Well, never fear, it's Bengals time again, as soon as Who Dey Burrows hits the turf his name hits the injured list. In fact, it is already there. "Ouch my calf" or "my wrist" or "my knees" or "my buttocks." It will be something. If they didn't have to play six games in their division they would rock.
Why fire David Bell? He keeps referring to "plenty of season left to improve" yet his team has NOT improved, especially at the plate. Continuing to start Will Benson and his .188 Batting average when you have guys like Hinds and Fraley hitting well over .250 is another reason. What is fun about watching these guys strikeout in half their at bats as a team? Watching De La Cruz strike out and swing at so many bad pitches. Hitting discipline has suffered ALL season long. Why do they look like they are having so much fun with their Goofy smiles and below .500 team record? Because they look FLASHY? Good teams don't win and LOSE in streaks. They also don't have terrible records in one run games with this starting pitching staff and a closer who is among the league leaders in saves. They are not improving but rather they are WASTING the longevity of a decent starting pitching staff. The starting pitching is building up their resumes so they can end up pitching and WINNING elsewhere. Their approach as a team to EVERY game is the same. Bell platoons a .188 hitter with a guy hitting .275. De La Cruz leads the league in stolen bases. A major reason is when he gets on base he has to run because the rest of the team can't make contact to move runners. Because they can only score via extra base hits they strand runners or get them thrown out in base running mistakes or in steal attempts. Some are even picked off. Bell brings in the same pitcher, Wilson, to blow back-to-back games. Because it isn't a "closing" situation to pad Diaz stats? How about a "chance to win" and "to stop another losing streak" situation? Hitting instructors making zero impact on the team. A loss is a wasted team effort accept in personal stats for the next arbitration hearing or contract. It isn't all Bell's fault. The front office and Mr. Krall have done their part. Reds fans should still remember "Fat Ford" from earlier in the year. By the way, does he have another job yet? Welcome aboard to the next below .200 hitter, Slater, the Reds obtained to bolster the outfield. Reds gave up a pitcher for him. Outfielders are a dime a dozen unless at Louisville. Finally, sometimes you fire a manager really just for public relations. Why? Because it is one of the most economical ways you can pretend to show your fans you are SERIOUS about competing and winning. You can also BS fans that way also. Like trading proven players for prospects, you keep fans anticipating that SOMEDAY, we have no clue when, we will be good. We may not be good but we will be rich getting there, if we get there. Also have stupid followers sitting in our cheap seats worrying about where to get Nachos and beer from. Where has the tradition of the Big Red Machine gone? In the grave with Little Joe Morgan? Sparky Anderson? Go visit the Reds Hall of Fame, it would be money better spent.

Wow that’s a whole essay you wrote. But I don’t think you realize that they literally have no one in the minors that would do any better.
Also I agree it’s not all on Bell but he does make some stupid manager decisions during the games and with the lineup
Absolutely hate Justin Wilson. Not a good pitcher these days. Has a fastball but just throws them down the pipe

Hate? Stop the sympathetic TV Screen BS, it is about winning and losing games and Wilson has been given the opportunity to give up the big hit in the last two games. Oh and he has delivered for the opposition. Case closed.
Just like the Washington Capitals snuck into the playoffs and got swept up by the Rangers. Ovetchkin and the rest of the OLD men in Caps uniforms.
