- Dad is having a serious life threatening cancer surgery in only a few days. Thinks his son is in the Philippines speaking to him on the phone. Surprise! Standing behind him in the same room.
Dad overcame the surgery, went cancer free for a year, now is fighting again with success.

I still remember the day my son left to go live in Canada to be with his soon to be wife. I held him tight at the airport to not only not let him see me cry but I knew deep in my heart I will never get to see or touch him again. I will be gone before he is ever able to return to Australia. im just so glad and proud of the man he grew up to be. more of a man than I ever was.

You see, the dad was worried sick about the surgery and wanted the son by his side, when the son arrived, the relief was there to see.
Met my father once when I was a child. Last I heard he was in a nursing home somewhere in Indiana. Couldn’t care less.

January 7, 1969 I came home from South Korea . When I got home I rang the doorbell. My mother answered and almost peed herself. My dad burst into tears and left them room so not to see him cry. It was fine. I made it home. Forty years later I was invited to a friends family reunion. I was in Fort Hood Texas and had a great motor pool sergeant. There he was in my small town, forty years later, the brother of the local friend I had.
