The moment Eric popped up, I knew this is gonna be the story of the gf cheating on her good boyfriend (she doesn't deserve) for the "initial" bad boy AGAIN. Funny enough, the first similar story that came in my mind was the Austin/Sam/Apollo triangle, and I screamed hard when it was revealed Eric and Caleb are brothers.. they basically copy-pasted it except the endgame characters are worse, and the good bf didn't get the closure he deserves. Bruh, it's almost an identical story, but everytime this trope gets rehashed, the characters become more red-flag especially the female characters... I always feel bad for the bfs in this trope, they deserve better and it makes sense to be mad when you realize you're partner is in love with some else (worse if it's with a relative lol). I mean, at least in the other story, Austin and Sam got closure and he had a redeeming moment as a character, so we wouldn't forget that he might be imperfect and gets mad sometimes, but he still loves his girlfriend and wants her to be happy above all else (I love Austin, gosh). I feel so sorry for Caleb in this because despite being similar to Austin and perhaps generally kinder to others, he got worse treatment. A cheater like Victor from "My best friend stole my boyfriend" is villainized (as he should be) for cheating on his girlfriend with her bff, but female characters who may not date the endgame guys, but still emotionally cheat are excused? The animations are improving, but I guess for the sake of balance, the better stories are on the other animations.

The moment Eric popped up, I knew this is gonna be the story of the gf cheating on her good boyfriend (she doesn't deserve) for the "initial" bad boy AGAIN. Funny enough, the first similar story that came in my mind was the Austin/Sam/Apollo triangle, and I screamed hard when it was revealed Eric and Caleb are brothers.. they basically copy-pasted it except the endgame characters are worse, and the good bf didn't get the closure he deserves.
Bruh, it's almost an identical story, but everytime this trope gets rehashed, the characters become more red-flag especially the female characters... I always feel bad for the bfs in this trope, they deserve better and it makes sense to be mad when you realize you're partner is in love with some else (worse if it's with a relative lol). I mean, at least in the other story, Austin and Sam got closure and he had a redeeming moment as a character, so we wouldn't forget that he might be imperfect and gets mad sometimes, but he still loves his girlfriend and wants her to be happy above all else (I love Austin, gosh). I feel so sorry for Caleb in this because despite being similar to Austin and perhaps generally kinder to others, he got worse treatment. A cheater like Victor from "My best friend stole my boyfriend" is villainized (as he should be) for cheating on his girlfriend with her bff, but female characters who may not date the endgame guys, but still emotionally cheat are excused?
The animations are improving, but I guess for the sake of balance, the better stories are on the other animations.
