The game is actually unplayable. I wish they kept the OG Tanki mode forever. Once that was finished I opened a normal Tanki game and almost threw up. I’m about done, was a blast coming back to this game after like 8-9 years.
Turbo accelerators is my go2 augment for like 2 years now. Imo it did need a small buff but not to that degree. I instantly tried it after the update had a blast using it and it was broken af. Crazy how for once twins is viable (without pulsar) and they instantly hotfix it while striker is as broken as ever
Ya, I felt sorry for twins accelerator players before the buff; with twin protection or even without it, I could aim striker and just blow the foe up with little damage incurred on myself.
I assume these buffs were done for the rock paper scissors event, let's hope they won't get too annoying. In my opinion, lifeguard is in a good position of this meta as it is, let me explain. There is miner, blaster and lifeguard. Miner exists for defense and camping. The nerf and added counters are good start. Blaster is a weird one. It helps short range turrets by making sure you never "lose" 1v1 fights, or protects you from short range turrets. LIfeguard is the opposite. The one-shot protection makes it OP against long range high dph turrets such as shaft, magnum, rail. However, it's quite useless against freeze or firebird. Maybe a change to 500HP restored would still be good enough. Or what if lifeguard simply prevented taking lethal damage, and left you at whatever HP you had before getting hit. Maybe a fun alternative could be adding a short 1s damage immunity, and leave the tank at 1HP. Also at the moment, blaster counters lifeguard, lifeguard counters miner (thanks to the 1k HP) and miner counters blaster.
I don’t think that hull augments countering one another is a good system. Since there are so many other status effects you have to protect against. Getting 1k health per spawn is a bit OP
Sorry man, you are just wrong. Lifeguard is simply too powerful. That one aug alone will let you dominate over another player with far more skill. That is the main problem with these augs. It takes all of the skill and strategy out of the game. It is not a fun game anymore.
I have to be honest, I hate critical damage, like, it was the ONLY thing that made Smoky unique, now every turret has that bs and it's an rng dependent game, which I hate, I don't want luck to decide whether I kill or get killed, I want skill to do it

don't sleep on the tesla ball thrower aug, it's OP, the ball now does 3.2k damage with brutus/hyperion when using damage, so you can kill mediums right on spawn :D, got 3 60+ kill games with it yesterday
Tandem is really good now it is like faust 2.0 Unfortunately I did not get it because I never knew it will be this broken. Plus they need to remove dead bodies is so annoying and maybe buff brutus so you can use all of the supplies at the same time but the repair cooldown is more
The most notable augments go to plasma turbo and tandem. I don't have tandem or any broken striker augment but I have plasma turbo accelerators and I was popping off with it in the deathmatch mode the other day. It's also fun to use cuz you shoot so fast and the projectiles go so far with the high projectile speed.
It may be fun for you, but for players that dont put a book on their keyboard it is not fun. This latest update has me questioning if I am going to play again. There is just no point in playing.
Let me give a piece of my mind on the games status starting from the Lifeguard augment: Removing Lifeguard from medium and heavy hulls, just letting it be an augment specifically meant for light hulls, seems like the move to me. Who the heck thought making the same augment available for all tanks and turrets was a great idea anyway? Dude it's just crystal clear how, for instance, the AP status effect on Magnum is never going to be as broken as in Tesla or Twins because... Well... Fire rate and infinite firing? Anyway, this game is doomed from several fronts, but the one that is more clear to me is actually us players, because 1. We don't buy enough from their product, quite the opposite: we play for free, and used to much more than now, which is not what a game developer wants, and; 2. There's a huge lack of skill and strategy from newer players because there's barely any more of those teens or prepubescent kids who can't afford to pay anything and whose only way through the game is grinding and learning those skills that we older players value more, and thus most of the newer playerbase seems to be conformed by richer kids and in their early 20s who just don't want to go through all the struggle of grinding and prefer to pay to have access to whatever is broken atm in the game to then go play and overpower everyone else because that's what gives them satisfaction: kills. Not skillful flag caps, impossible ball passes and scoring goals, or strategically capturing siege points, just straight and easy kills. I don't know about the rest of the community, but in my case, I don't want such players becoming the actual playerbase because we've got different values and they're mere presence and pressure through their wallets is killing what was once a great game, f2p or not, because bundles and several other offers were interesting, not broken, and were just an extra incentive to invest some money in the game whenever you had some to spare, but this "buy or get killed in the blink of an eye" dynamic is definitely a mainstream nowadays in games like Tanki and unfortunately it will be it's demise should the game keep on in the direction. That is, unless you decide to camp, because killing from afar hiding every time is pretty effective at getting kills without getting killed which, in turn, becomes your go-to strategy for every mode as if that was enough to help your team win. Oh, wait, I forgot: winning matches is not the goal anymore, but scoring high at the end of battles to get better rewards, regardless of being victorious or defeated. Oh and forget talking about how us advanced Legend ranked players basically have most of our stuff maxed out and thus have much more appreciation of skill and strategy than just a plain and dull mode where only killing each other is the goal. Who plays TDM anyway? Because all I see is people playing CTF, Rugby and Control Points as if they were playing TDM, but I see barely anyone actually clicking TDM on purpose. So many ideas I and other important figures for this game could offer to try and salvage what's left of the good old Tanki and yet so little interest and support shown from the devs to change that...
I don't like the buff of turbo accelerators, because now it makes no sense to use a plasmatron. I generally hate devices that only give buffs because they don't change the gameplay, but just make you stronger, and that's not interesting. if they give you something, they should take something away, turbo accelerators are an example of terrible balance. It was fun for me to shoot the slow but lethal balls of the plasmatron, and now it doesn't seem to make sense.
I hate how I played the game for so long just for it to add hull augments that just nullifies my mk8s and everything, because anyone that has lifeguard aug while using only mk7 hull has more health than me using the same hull mk8, and it's not something that you can get based on the crystals or skill, you need to get lucky while opening containers, from when the added these hull augments until now I only managed to get 4 legendary paints instead of actually getting some augment, at least this build & fight minigame is going to get me one of these augments at least, but it is anyways just something that makes me not want to play this game for that long, because someone with blaster and just go towards you, freeze you, and you can't do nothing about it (Ik you can kill them before they get to you, but it is annoying to know that someone can win against you any time if you don't just outplay him so much every single time)
Thanks for confirming about the hotfix, I knew something was wrong today. The other day with booster I got 1st place in the festive event and 60 kills; so yes a bit OP. Destab Rail looks good on paper, but you seemed not to get many crits; plus if the enemy has rail prot (which is usually the case) plus armadillo..ugh... What are you complaining about Tesla has been nerfed again with reload time? Tesla makes the game fun in some battles.... I think Hunter should be nerfed with reduced range that kaos damage, ugh.
Yeah but Lifeguard giving 1000 pnts is honestly equal to getting 1 tapped in most cases. I think the idea was to give lower ranking players without access to protections something to keep them in the game. For higher ranking players it's not that big of a deal.
You cannot die in one shot with lifeguard. It saves you from dying then adds the life. However in many cases now players with it have an edge over basically everyone else

It's sheer luck if anyone lower than Generalisimo has it and anyone still under rank restrictions even with it, wouldn't be an advantage. It becomes problematic when a tank is already maxed and has protections lower ranks won't have access to. If by luck a LR player gets lifeguard, the health it provides would be equivalent to getting 1 tapped by an OP augmented player. It would balance out for LR players but it's OP for higher ranks.
With each change Tanki keeps making the game worse. The augs for Striker and Twins in conjunction with Lifeguard have made the game unplayable. Getting destroyed because some kid has their mom's credit card instead of skill is not fun. In fact it is infuriating. The game is in a downward spiral of garbage and it is clear the developers have no Fing clue what they are doing with each change. If they had put their time into new maps instead of new augs everyone would be much happier.

Critical hit shots come up as orange numbers. So you did get a couple but, not as frequently as the 50% chance would make it seem
