Oh look... Green Square. I live in a 10 minute walk from that station. I was only 7 when the Airport Link stations first opened, and GS was naturally the first of those stations I saw. Hard to believe next year will be 20 years since this line opened.
Hard to believe all the milestone anniversaries happening for Sydney Trains lately... 2018 - 30th anniversary of Tangara 2019 - 40th anniversary of Bondi Junction line 2020 - 20th anniversary of Airport Link stations
Unacceptably dangerous narrow platforms, all on this line will have to be widened, at Domestic & International passengers congregate with bags at stairs with bags, you can't get past, Green Square is crowded in the mornings. Should have been built as wider island platforms, to allow escalators, lifts and stairs to be grouped.
👏 Excellent vlog on the Airport Line, Phil! Can you do a freightspotting vlog on the Southern Sydney Freight Line at stations like Casula, Ingleburn, Minto or Carramar? And could you do a #TravelSeries vlog from Campbelltown to Picton on an Endeavour, or a #TravelSeries vlog from Parramatta to Blacktown, please?
150 years ago, the rails in Sydney came in use shortly after Melbourne. This is just based on my knowledge, but you do have an intelligent friend called google.
@@Niko-lu4fi Incorrect. 300 years ago was way before Australia was even colonised and 200 years ago was only when Sydney was starting to grow rapidly into a large city. Around 150 years is a lot more accurate
Hi Phil, thanks for sharing this fascinating video. I have never even seen this line. If I ever get back up to Sydney, I will make an effort to travel on it. My last Sydney visit was in early 2000. From what I have heard, this line is on a different fare system. Would that be correct? Also, what suburb is near Green Square station? Anyway, take care. Robert.
Thanks for that. Unfortunately, I haven't travelled on the Airport Link so far, bur if I ever get back up to Sydney for a visit, that is definitely on my bucket list. Years ago, when I lived in Sydney, I was at Marrickville, which is not that far from Mascot airport.
RGC198 The Airport Link stations had a separate fee paid to enter and exit the stations, however that fee recently got abolished for Green Square and Mascot. Still applies to Domestic and International though.
Their windows are different, their doors are different, their seats are different, their sounds are different, the front is rounder on an oscar along with different colours.
First! By the way, awesome video Phil! Loved the B Set and M Sets! I loved the other trains too! Liked! :D

To add to the list:
2021 will be 20 years of electrification to Kiama
@@iwenttobunnings7868 Perhaps 2022 20th anniversary of the Millenium? If that fits
@@mangobaby_videos I can't remember if there was a celebration for the M sets turning 20. I kinda hope there was, as it's a milestone.
I didn't realise how fast they go after departing
B set, A set, and m set is fast at departing but k set and c set are slower at departing
Awesome video 👍🏻. I love your channel 👍🏻

This is a nice station! It’s better than in France !
How old is the Sydney railway?? It looks soooo clean
(I think) About 300/200 years. They convicts made the railway and used it.

RGC198 Green Square is on the border of two suburbs. Waterloo and Zetland. I happen to live in the area.

the 🅱️ set is the best set lol
That's what the B stands for my friend.
Is b7 close to service
Yes it should be in service within 2 weeks.
The security camera is right there...
Good vlog Phil, can I request Flemington?
Yes
How do you differentiate between a Millenium and and Oscar?
Their windows are different, their doors are different, their seats are different, their sounds are different, the front is rounder on an oscar along with different colours.
Millennium have V shaped windows. Oscars have D shaped windows
oscars have a blue circle around the front window
M is more dull looking with corner front. Oscar is blue and yellow with round blue window frame and with H on the plate.
Oscar is blue round thing at front and M set is black hexagon thing at the front
there was not one tangara in the video.
Princess Leia, they run on T4
and T1/T9
Also there was no S set as well and this was filmed before they were fully retired.
@@chris-cs8et Thanks, i wasn't as familiar back then because i'm only use to the T2
Were is Green Square
Very close to Central and Mascot :)
foxx 66 It’s between Central and Mascot.

Just for the sake of it
Gosh that was boring....was hoping you were going to show us your train journey to the airport
foxx 66 This was just a basic trainspotting vlog to showcase all the Airport Link stations.
That just means you are not a trainspotter
