The film was too sophisticated for your average viewer causing it to be rated lower by audiences. It's actually quite a good film, but the viewer needs to be a little more worldly to understand what the characters are talking about. It was a bit hypothetical and quite literal enough for audiences. I saw it in the theater in 2009 and people were a bit disappointed by the ending where the bank just sort of goes on. Since then I have seen it several times on Netflix and realized that the film wasn't trying to give a very conclusive ending. It was just discussing the issues it was raising and the point was that the characters played by Owen and Watts can really only do so much. They don't have the power to bring down this bank despite their best efforts.
What do you mean "probably"? This is standard operating procedure for the rich world elite who think they can do anything because they have money and can pay anyone off.
Check out George Monbiot's article "What links Rishi Sunak, Javier Milei and Donald Trump". A good article but just one of hundreds on political/corporate corruption articles which the general public rarely if ever read.
Well there are many things that you don't know about the world today. Things that don't benefit society at all and these things need to change. Many important issues are spoken about in these 2 documentaries and until u learn about what they address you will always be one step away from the next step society needs to make.
review of czech site is 64 percent but i think it doesnt matter how much people liked it important is genre if its thriller and action it means thrilling and not boring movie
never trust ratings. this movie is amazing. seen it 4 times and everyone i have watched it with loves it.. someone controls this stuff.read about movie industry trying to kill other movie and t.v. shows. the scene at museum is up there..
Terry Thompson I do have a dream to join Interpol. But they don't really arrest or do anything. For safety most are trained and the ones who make the arrest are agents of their respective countries. Also known as 2nded agents. While Interpol ones mostly never leave office until really needed. Even then they simply contact local agencies.
Terry Thompson I forgot the English word for it. They are more issuing or making reports. It's a liaison basically or a medium between 2 countries. For example Germany has a criminal and he fled to India.(one of the major things interpol does) So Germany would talk to Interpol and Interpol to India. Then India would report to Interpol and then Germany would know. If India agrees they would catch the criminal and give it to Germany. Problem is that extradition or other crimes between countries was hard to handle before. A Single agency works for every situation. Still some countries don't come under Interpol's list tho. This makes Interpol one of the closest thing you can work to with real life espionage. But only in movies it looks cool. In real life you spend most of the time on a computer in france.
"But only in movies it looks cool. In real life you spend most of the time on a computer in france." That depends on your definition of cool. Mine is this: Blessed are the children of men who saw that swords strike less than the pen. The computer is now the most effective weapon against evil, even more so than any violent weapon, because it destroys the illusion of legitimacy that causes people to cooperate with it.
This is a great film and very entertaining...but it is also an important film as well, because it is true, and exposes the filthy underbelly of Corporatism, which is still in power globally today:
With a Rotten Tomatoes critic score of 59% and 37% for the public score, this is a criminally underrated film.
One of the RARE movie that have balls to tell the truth with talented director and a serious Clive Owen Role!
Mark Hamilton is good
Can you recommend me some films similar to this film?
I no longer trust these movie ratings; They are biased.
@@markhamilton3215 probably why bankers had critics give it poor reviews.
Watching right now for the first time. Heard the reviews on here. Amazed that a movie from 2009 can still make noise in 2020.
movies from the 70s can still be equally effective. network, of course.
This was a great movie. Perfectly sums up everything.
If your eyes are open you will find their tends to be a lot of truth in movies like this.
No shit Sherlock!
Umm... if thery weren't how will i read this
25 years later and it's still happening present day...
That's why we always have to watch movies. They're the "truth" but, with actors and some cameras.

We should not trust these online movie rating platforms. Most of them are biased.
This is exactly what I said when I finished the movie last night.
Great movie!!! Tom Tykwer has done an impressing job!
Love this movie. It's a shame that Clive Owen didn't get an opportunity to play Bond. Too late now.
He would make a great villain
Wow ...this is probably happening in real life

This this is the closest film to exposing the banking cartels. How it was allowed to be released is mind blowing.

It’s based on Bank of Credit and Commerce International. The difference was the real one was much worse.

My All time favorite movie wonderful superb great. Owen Clive
The IBBC bank referred to in this movie resembles the Rothschild's in real life.
It’s a Pakistani bank BCCI. But yes it’s true story of every big family bank.
This MOVIE is better that G.O.T.
this trailer has zero resemblance to the film in terms of tone
