My daughter reminded me that she asked me to paint a beach scene for her birthday. I've just recently started painting again after many years of being a quilt maker instead. Thank you for this lovely tutorial! I'm excited to get back into watercolors again. This is so helpful to get me started.
So helpful, new to watercolours and found beach scenes quite intimidating on a blank bright white page! Looking forward to having a go now after watching this. Thank you!
Great work. You make it look so simple.... love the mixture of colours and how they merge on the paper. And the white spaces???? just beaultiful!!! Congratulations.
Thanks Patrick, this was a big help to me showing how you did the waves and put in the underside. I always have trouble with how to do waves. And thanks for stating the colors you used throughout. I'm going to visit family in Maine soon on the coast, and am going to take some paints/journal with me, and hopefully be able to do a little beach scene while I'm there, so I'm going to refer to the mixes you suggested for the water/sand, etc.
I'm a beginner and love painting beachy scenes. Yours was very different from ones I've done and I really enjoyed following your class, especially learning how to add people to the scene. Thank you very much.
I just happen to stumble across your watercolor class! Too late for the 30 day challenge, but NOT too late to jump in and glean some knowledge! Now.....where is my brush!!! YOU make it look so easy!
Really good demonstration, love the colours in the cloud and the sand. Never seen a demonstration on how to show the water in the sand before. welk have a try at this now. Thanks ☺
Great video! Would love to have a demo on painting people (dogs) in the distance. They really give life to a painting. My proportions always seem wrong. Thanks for sharing!
"The moment, when you realized. That using the white of the paper. Is not exactly, painting" XD 3:49 ....Excellent tutorial... I proceeded to do what you did. Though your painting still looks waaayyy better. -- Thanks for sharing! :)
I'm using windsor &newton paints..but i am finding when the paper is wet the paints don't stick to the paper and over dilute in colour. And thats even on semi wet paper.
wonderful video. i always learn something new from your videos. can you tell me what paper you use? I'm trying different kinds of paper to figure out the best one for me. thank you Evelyn
Im always having trouble with the white " Oh, God I can't touch that", very intimidating really: thank you for mentioning that, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, trust the process
Extraordinary and beautiful watercolor art🌺🙂🌺🙂

Very nice Patrick. Thank you so much for all your great videos. I really like this little beach painting.
Great video! Thank you! Blizzard going on here today, a beach was just what I needed. Michigan, US.
Isn't it just like Lake Michigan in July? :)
Very nice Patrick. I, too, have struggled with waves. You make it look so easy and in just a matter of minutes. Great lesson.
Great demo! Thank you. That natural ray of light from the clouds at the end of the video really added a whole new effect..
I love this. Can't believe I have not found your tutorials sooner. I am just thinking about trying a seascape and I can't wait to try this. Thank you.

I'm using windsor &newton paints..but i am finding when the paper is wet the paints don't stick to the paper and over dilute in colour. And thats even on semi wet paper.
Loved it .. thanks
Thank you 😀
Love this-trying today. Questions? Is your board tilted? Stretched paper? Hot or cold press? Thanks
Can you use regular brushes rather than water color brushes? thanks
is it better to squeeze your paints out and let them dry rather thenn using from the tube
Hi Patrick, I am trying this painting, but do you tilt your work in an angle when you are painting?
Rougly at about 10 degrees angle. Hope that helps :)
Thanks, I finished it but I have a cotman set so my colors are a bit off and my figures and dog are really fat (my smallest brush is a no3) ;-)
Dear Patrick, Where did you purchase the goats hair Chinese brush from please, as I've been after one for some time. Thank you. Bob.
Did you wet the paper before adding color to the sky?
I would have sprayed it with a mister bottle just to dampen it slightly. I will demonstrate this in future live streams/ video tutorials
Love this, so simple...
David Amos Uii

Does your. Smoke detector need a new battery ?
Heather Banks Sounds like a bird to me - I like it!! :)
I kept thinking it was our detector. Lol
Love the painting ut too much talking.
Dorothy McGinnis I disagree!! I find his teaching style to be helpful, friendly, and interesting.
I second that. Dorothy McGinnis, nobody has forced you to watch.
Nice! Now change the battery in your smoke detector.
