Not long after my father was murdered, my mom and I were driving to my Aunt's house, it was pouring and I mean pouring down rain, we had a flat on the highway. I remember a cowboy who pulled up behind us, got out of his pick-up with his white stetson hat and rain drenching him. He got the trunk opened, placed his new hat on the ground and changed our tire. I remember him placing his hat on his head, no longer white and dripping rain water down. He tipped the hat at us, got back in his truck and drove off, leaving us behind---no longer stranded. I have never forgotten what he did for us that day, he was a hero, just wish I had known who he was.
I do that a lot... One thay i curiosly changed two tires on the same spot at the same time.... 2 ladies stranded at night.. And i've seen a lot of car accidents on the road and 3 of them upside-down cars and got the people out of there including kids before police.. Ambulance and firefighters get there... And i always end up with scratches and small pieces of glass all over my body.. But so proud that i could help... Withou3 thinking of a car explosion or me being harm sonehow. It just feel sooo good to help🤠
I am from China and I can say country music has helped me learn English thank you this was the first country song I have herd and started singing it or at least tried to also this song reminds me of the us soilder who helped me alot so I do the same for others by helping them learn English

Listening to this now in 2020 as racial inequities and current politics divides this country. "...don't let the chain of love end with you." Love thy brother, everybody.
I forgot about this song, but I literally just passed on some money to a young man in school that’s broke. He was talking about momma and his grandma having a birthday soon. I didn’t even hesitate. The cash was given to me, and I would rather someone who needs it to have it… the chain of love didn’t end with me tonight
The song " The Little Girl " by John Michael Montgomery is one that chokes me up. Especially the line where she is in the church and sees Jesus on the cross for the first time. She said she didn't know his name but she knows he got off because he was holding her the night her parents died. Yep ! Tearing up -----
I cannot but make a comment how true this song has been in my own life. Farming by myself in the early 80's. A friend of mine always helped me move a tractor or truck from one field to the next and I felt I could never pay him back, I felt so bad but he never needed help! Fast foward 10 years and I find myself in a position to help another close friend after he lost his dad. As he went oversees to attend the funeral and be with his family, I told him not to worry, I would look after putting in his crop for him. I remember his wife coming from the house as I was fueling up the tractor, tears running down her face, wondering how they could ever pay me back. That realy hit home! Fast forward to July 15 2000. After a short but very fierce battle with Cancer and witnessing my late wife seeing a "Beautiful Mansion" about 10 hours befoe Jesus called her home and then raising two girls for 5 years by myself I found myself getting married once again, and couldnt help but choose this song at our wedding.
Not only one of the best country songs ever.. it's also one of the best just being a decent human songs ever penned and that's beautiful... long live Clay's music and soul...
Saw you open for Alan Jackson. When you played this song the audience went crazy singing along. It was at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Thank you for a GREAT SHOW!
"You don't owe me a thing" has been going randomly in and out of my head lately. I didn't know what this song was called and finally found it. It's sweet.
This song brings a tear to my eyes. There's a conspiracy afoot, someone always cuts onions when I listen. I wish the world was more like this and NOT how it actually is... At least we know God wins in the end and He promised to fix it.
One of my all time favorite Clay Walker songs! Brings back great memories from early 2000 when it came out. Sadly, there seems to be much fewer people like this these days, but we need them now more than ever.
My Grandfather loves this song I am playing it for him as I am writing this message when he's around it stays on repeat he's 76 years old love grandpa Maurice.
I wish everyone would help people and don't expect anything in return. Clay Walker, this is a great song, I listen to it at least 5-10 times a day. Hi, from Southern Georgia.
I started working in radio 25 years ago. I played this song and loved it so much I learned it. One time I was singing it and my kids said "Shush Dad!!" My ex-wife said... "No I want to hear how it ends." We were always Kismet with Music.
What a nice song that hit the core of the heart who listens to it.The best country song ever.Yes! Never let the chain of love ends with you.God bless you.

LYRICS:
He was driving home one evening,
In his beat up Pontiac
When an old lady flagged him down,
Her Mercedes had a flat
He could see that she was frightened,
Standing out there in the snow
'Til he said I'm here to help you ma'am,
By the way my name is Joe
She said I'm from St. Louis,
And I'm only passing through
I must have seen a hundred cars go by,
This is awful nice of you
When he changed the tire,
And closed her trunk
And was about to drive away,
She said how much do I owe you
Here's what he had to say
You don't owe me a thing, I've been there too
Someone once helped me out,
Just the way I'm helping you
If you really want to pay me back,
Here's what you do
Don't let the chain of love end with you
Well a few miles down the road,
The lady saw a small cafe
She went in to grab a bite to eat,
And then be on her way
But she couldn't help but notice,
How the waitress smiled so sweet
And how she must've been eight months along,
And dead on her feet
And though she didn't know her story,
And she probably never will
When the waitress went to get her change,
From a hundred dollar bill
The lady slipped right out the door,
And on a napkin left a note
There were tears in the waitress's eyes,
When she read what she wrote
You don't owe me a thing,
I've been there too
Someone once helped me out,
Just the way I'm helping you
If you really want to pay me back,
Here's what you do
Don't let the chain of love end with you
That night when she got home from work,
The waitress climbed into bed
She was thinkin' about the money,
And what the lady's note had said
As her husband lay there sleeping,
She whispered soft and low
"Everything's gonna be alright
I love you, Joe"

Just thought of a good song title.
"Just might come back to you"
Just needs lyrics.
Wow. He was your very own angel that day.
That Cowboy made you a kind and thoughtful person.
Don't stop his chain of love and continue to pass it on 🥰
I do that a lot... One thay i curiosly changed two tires on the same spot at the same time.... 2 ladies stranded at night.. Be careful of What you send around, it just might come back to you.

This song is simply awesome!!!
The point is to spread love. And wealth
