Driving your Gt3 RS in the mountains with your son, yeah.. those are my goals!
Makes me wish my dad ever did this sort of thing with me. He spent all the time he could working or staying at the office to avoid interacting with his kids and getting quality time.
As much as you love to make content for RUclips for us car guys, make sure it never cuts into the time you spend with your family, especially your son. It's times like this that your son will remember fondly back on when he's grown up. Watching this gave me a glimpse into a world where things are right between father and son, and that's a special thing.

Ryan will never forget these times with you. Cherish these times. I take my son in my GT4 for drives like this and have met so many great car guys because of the GT4. Now when we go out we are with other 3RS /2RS and the smile on my sons face is priceless. One day Ryan will be driving your RS! Stay safe brother

When I bought a new STi back in 2006 I took my then ten year old son on a road trip in the car up to Deals Gap. We still talk about the great memories we made that week, driving those mountain roads and hanging out together.
My three takeaways from this clip... “ladies don’t know how to drive” “pizza, I need some” aaand “stay crazy”

Hey Matt, your son does not have motion sickness... he has what we call the "need for speed" syndrome... just keep it above uh erm 80 average and he should be fine on all your journeys ;) thanks for the drive down the dragon!

Wow this is awesome man! You are living my dream life! I love how you can enjoy your cars with your wife and kids and they appreciate them and are so interested! Most wife’s wouldn’t care at all! I thought you were always kind of monotoned but seeing you happy with your family and enjoying your cars really showed me another side of you!
yeah its bad when you have all this passion for cars and the person you want to share it with doesnt care at all about it, but you are right, this was awesome, smiling over here.
Someday Ryan will watch those videos and he will understand how cool dad he has and how lucky he is.
Other than that, he seems to really enjoy it, unlike his mom 😆

Did that same run the day after I bought my 911. Was with my best friend from college. Wish I could have had my son with me too but it was still amazing, especially since it was late September and the leaves were changing. Amazing.

It's a very kickass video, Ryan will remember these moments for the rest of his life and hopefully he get's to tell his children & grandchildren later on he did this with his dad and hopefully he can do it with his own kids aswel he sure will be your successor in the OG-Group ;-) These are lifegoals right here ! The GT3/RS's make the best sound ever.. Been driven the GT3 MKII at work and holy hell it's so awesome when you get to push it and then shift up or the down shift.. give me goosebumps !
Memories that your son will have for a lifetime! I still remember fun times with my dad growing up and try to share fun experiences with my son today. He’s 19 now so it gets less and less, which makes my wife sad but we/he still talks about fun times he had growing up. The only thing I didn’t do is let him ride with me when I had a street bike (wouldn’t get another one) although he used to ask to go with me all the time. Love the video!!!

Seeing Ryan's grin after the first couple of squirts of throttle was awesome. This is one of those moments that stays with people forever - it's the moment at which they either become a car person or not. So nice to see father and son connecting.

Excited to hear a C7 Corvette is coming after the 1M something a little different for you Matt. Word of advice. We just traded our 16’ C7 for a 19’ I’m telling you Matt get a 19’ model year Corvette. LOOK INTO THE C7 PAINT SHOP RETOOL. GM re did their paint shop in Bowling green and the 19’s have a heck of a lot better paint. Both of ours were Arctic White and the new one (even with dealer swirls) sitting next to the old one fully corrected and coated is night and day. Less orange peel exceptional clarity given non German GM quality.
If the budget allows you to get one that new. Also, a Grand Sport (Z06 widebody without LT4 motor, and dry sump LT1 naturally aspirated motor) and potentially pro charging it would be interesting to see it get put together. “Great content”

I’m a Mountain/Canyon Rd nut too. I have a Cayman GTS and a Ducati Panigale. Most people don’t understand the awesomeness that is doing this by yourself or with friends. The scenery. The twisties, the straights, the sweepers. It’s heaven!
Never cared for driving in a fun way before until my mom showed me how to drive. I was driving through Mulholland and she got ticked off because I didnt know "how to have fun". She had me pull over and drove herself. She was attacking corners and catching slides. It wasnt scary at all and opened my eyes to real driving. Now, she's stopped driving like that and drives her age as she should.
This video was nostalgic. "Throttle, place the car, brake, turn, progressively start throttling, floor it when you feel the rear end is stable enough..."

I enjoy watching videos like this because it reminds me of my younger self with my dad as he taught me about cars in his Porsches, Shelbys, BMWs, etc... Always great to see a good relationship between father and son -- especially when both enjoy cars!
