He has been stuck outside of the Reds' top 10 prospects because he strikes out a ton, but his power is real. I think people are very cautiously optimistic about what he's doing right now, but he could easily revert back to his 35% minor league strikeout rate soon.

This is so surreal for me, because I remember reading a ton about him when the Reds drafted him and this is exactly what I envisioned... light tower power, speed to go with it, good enough bat to ball skills. And then he just completely fell off the radar. He really hasn't been all that great in the minors, and I'd check his stats from time to time and be disappointed. So, to see this is so wild to me. What a beautiful game baseball can be!

Checked himself into MLB witness protection the following season when pitchers stop throwing him fastballs.
Started watching baseball again last year because of Elly. Started liking the team as a whole, Hinds’ is going to be a great addition to this young Reds team.
