I really like how in depth you went for each section and over the standard nutrition guidelines with their terminology. Thank you!
I found it super interesting seeing the explanation behind some responsibilities of a sports nutrition professional. Having someone that can interpret the new research data and give it to us in a way that we can understand for out daily diet is very helpful.
Great refresher on the importance of nutrition when training. I’ve always found it super cool how our body is able to break down protein, carbs, & fats and use it to keep us going!
This video was a great comprehensive study on the nutrient needs for athletes.
I remember learning about these key concepts in Sports Nutrition. This was a great review!
This was a great review of my sport nutrition class! I appreciated how the video touched on all the required amounts of macronutrients, minerals, and fluids!
This video was a great refresher of concepts from nutrition courses I have taken in the past.
This was a great video for an athlete that wants the basics for their diet!
I really enjoyed watching the video after reading the text because it simplified the sections for me.
It was very beneficial for me to relearn the different types of proteins that our bodies can or cannot make because I had forgotten this information before this video.
Very helpful video. Also I loved the broccoli story that you told about your friend the night before a race.
It was a great review about what is being lost in sweat and how to properly replenish! Thank you!
U are doing great work
Ayeeeee he’s back!!!!
This was a nice review of what we are going over in my current nutrition class. Thank you!
Thank you for this video! I have alway been interested in nutrition so this video was very helpful to learn more about it.
I think it's really cool that the body can adapt to carb intake. It will burn more fats when someone is on a low-carb diet
Huge respect for ur hard work sir❤
It's interesting learning about sport nutrition in this class versus my Nutrition for Exercise and Sport Performance class. We've covered the majority of this information, but this video was still a good refresher on the material!
your poor buddy probably never ate broccoli ever again
I'm glad they got rid of the pyramid. My Plate seems much better and more up to date.
I bet your friend ran that race faster. Good laugh
Great video, thanks a lot. Please don't stop, please keep providing content on CSCS chapters study and other S&C knowledge as well.
Love this!! Keep providing chapter in CSCS! It’s helping my studying
The my plate guide was also taught in my nutrition class. I feel that it is a wonderful tool for adjusting macro distributions and visualizing your meal splits.

You assume much, sir.
haha
Q: GI isn’t so much about speed in but more about speed out. Correct?
Awesome! Thank you so much for continuing this series!
Pronounced “ saccharides “. 💬 Sack-er-rides
What an interesting and in depth video! It was a great blend of both my kinesiology classes and my nutrition minor classes. I liked how you discussed quality of protein as well as GI index, thank you!
Love the videos Dr. Goodin! It really helps with studying. I take my test December 1st. When might we see that video over chapter 10?
Soon! Most likely in time for you to study up before the test.
I really appreciated you talking about the macronutrients as this is something that is relatable and applicable to every athlete serious about performance and nutrition. Many different aspects of these macronutrients can be overlooked and this can hinder training and sport performance.
This video was great! Breaking down the chapter like this was so helpful in understanding the nutrition factors for health in athletes
I had no idea we needed more red and orange veggies than the dark green leafy. I had assumed that the dark green leafy was at the top. Now I have a new focus for improvements in my diet.
This video was a great recap from nutrition class, as well as going over each macronutrient and how much fat, carbohydrate and protein should be consumed.
I am always interested when I learn about ketosis and this idea of a low carb high fat diet that overtime trains the body to use fat as our main fuel source instead of carbs. Its interesting seeing which high level athletes are keto and seeing how they can still perform the same even though there bodies are functioning totally differently
I thought the story about your friend and broccoli was really funny. Sucks that he had a race the next day. Might have been better if you pranked him another day.
A lot of my buddies who are gym bros tend to eat about 3g of protein /kg and try to eat as much as they can. I need to show them this video !
It’s very interesting to see how low the recommended intake of protein is. Im sure many people would benefit from an increase in protein.
Great review from Sports Nutrition with Professor Lynch.
Really good overview and recap on nutrition in general as I haven’t been in that class in a couple years now.
Based on the chart you showed about glycemic index, I found it interesting that oranges are harder to digest than watermelon.
It's interesting to me how different kinds of athletes need different amounts of each of the macronutrients in their diet!
I really found this to be a very interesting lecture and section since nutrition for me is not really a strong suit.
Great video! It was helpful to have a refresher on this since I took nutrition for athletes a few years ago.
Poor Matt. The combo of those pre race nerves and the broccoli really got the better of him.
I enjoyed the story you told about your friend and eating broccoli before the race!
So cool to connect all of these concepts with what we learned in Sports Nutrition!
This was a great refresher from Sports Nutrition!
❤
that broccoli story was pretty funny (in a bad way)
Thank you very much!
Glad to see you're back!
Nutrition is often a very underutilized tool to achieve the gains in whatever someone is looking for. knowing the breakdown of the main three: protein, carbs and fat will go a long way to understanding how macronutrients fir into their respective program, great lecture video!
The story about broccoli gave me a good laugh while studying. I also was caught off guard by some of the editing and zoom-ins which made me laugh. thanks for relaying all this information and making it so easily accessible for us!
The tables provide great examples of foods to meet the nutrition guidelines recommended. They were very helpful to provide different foods that contain specific vitamins/nutrients that we need.
This is a great explanation of sports nutrition. I like especially how you explained not to assume that athletes or others know the basics of nutrition or hydration but instead to work with them to formulate a plan that supports their health that they can participate in and continue themselves!
I appreciate the way you looked at all of these factors for different types of diets. This was very helpful information!
I like how you put emphasis on how essential amino acids are when trying to recover and rebuild after exercise.
Sports nutrition is so vital for optimal athletic performance and this video was very informative! This video was a great refresher for one of my favorite courses, nutrition for exercise and sports performance!
This was a great lecture and I appreciated the reminder on what I should be consuming and how that is variable depending on the athlete and the type of athletic activity they participate in.
I appreciate how detailed you went into the nutritional factors for health of athletes. I feel like people talk much less about nutrition in comparison to exercise.
I really like the saying that sports dietitians help athletes make the connection between "plate and performance". I think that is a great way to put it!
I liked how you broke down specific macronutrient needs for all types of athletes.
The way nutrient delivery works and the vast amount that can be found in certain foods that is needed for the body to function at a higher degree is so cool.
I have always loved learning more about nutrition so this video was super enjoyable! Food is fuel
Paying attention to my nutrition has made a huge difference for me!
I really liked how you tied nutrition to athletes and how it is dependent on what the goal of each athlete is
