So glad to see you continuing with the controllerism concepts you started. Your "approach to controllerism" videos opened up a whole new world of music for me when I first saw them in high school, wow 14 years ago!!!
Thanks Nick! I’m so glad to know those videos were helpful to you back in the day. I consider myself fortunate to be able to keep developing and spreading the ideas. I appreciate that you’re still watching :-)
@@moldover I think I still have some adhesive marks on my old m-audio midi keyboard from messing around with cut up dvd cases and different pieces of rubber haha! Those first few vids on that original controller are still helpful to this day , some of my favorites all time, recently rewatched for some inspiration. So awesome, and so is this!
It still pisses me off that someone with your personality, skill and knowledge doesn't have millions of subbies. Been around since the Octomasher days, was too young to buy eponymous when it came out but found it in Vegas at Meow Wolf last year and lost my shit! So glad to have it after all these years, and glad you're still making rad stuff.
Another fantastic design of a really good integrated usage mode for priority type realtime performance/writing. Really enjoy the Yaeltex approach and that your device styles are gonna be readily available
Hi Moldover ! thank you so much for sharing your mapping. Downloaded your mapping, I have a question regarding the vu-meter. How do you midi map it ? is there anything that has to be configured in the controller editor or in the midi pane of ableton ? Could id be mapped to a button ? I tried mapping it to a button of my launchcontrol xl but not luck. Any idea if that could work ? Thank you so much in advance !
Hey so ok (1) this is incredible, some of the most creative and genius midi mappings Ive seen on a controller. Subscribing! (2) I'm looking into getting a Yaeltex controller too, but I couldn't find clear information on whether it can do some of the "deeper" integration things with Ableton that certain controllers have. I saw that you were able to map a knob to control the scenes with the little box and play the selected scene so I assume that means you can use this like a control surface and have access to the red box thingy in session mode. Did you have to write a script to do that or is it built in? Also, do you know if it's possible to have the knobs set up to control the macros on whatever the selected track is? In other words, the function of the knob varies depending on the currently selected track. And finally (sorry for all the questions but you seem like you know your stuff) do you know if it's possible to use one push encoder to move through devices in the device rack and drill down into them / go back up in the case of nested things, and have another set of controllers display the parameters of whatever the currently selected device is? I desparately want to be able to use LED ring encoders to control every device parameter, and there aren't a lot of devices that can do that.
Hello mate, really nice video, I got a gig in one week and it's a pain to configure my controler, can you help me ? I don't need crazy options, only mute / unmute track with the light on or off for example

Thats a really great work. Someone who knows what he's doing. This is only possible with a costume controller. Very cool...
Fantastic work! Agree this is super well thought out design and system. Very clean design and engineering. Thank you.

Wild, nice work, well thought out, and team yaeltex working overtime
Awesome controller! Love the use of the mirror. A low tech but effective method.
Thanks! I borrowed the mirror-idea from "True Cuckoo" :-)

High compliments- thank you! I just might have to add that to the device literature somewhere... :-)
thank you so much dude!
Excellent. Thank you.
such a cool concept! Good job matt!
Awesome! looks amazing.
Wow, this is so cool on multiple levels! I'll be sure and share this with my Berklee performance students. Awesome! Thanks Matt!
Glad you dig it Erik! Thank you for sharing :-)
Really well thought out. This is great.
Excellent explanation of this powerful controller. I'm extremely tempted to get one. Just need a few more bookings to justify it 😂
Wooooooooooowwwww! 😍

¡Muchas gracias Manu!

Fucking amazing man!
Are the endless encoders push bottom as well?
yep
