One thing to note about OCD is that the intrusive thoughts and themes have many ways they can be triggered. The 2 most common being an external trigger from something in your surrounding environment, or you can be daydreaming and a thought will pass by and get latched onto. When its the former you tend to regret doing the thing that triggered the thought, but either way you literally have no control over how they start.

I truly understand where your coming from and have experienced the same depths of despair which caused me to make 3 real attempts to take my own life. After one attempt when the hospital staff were stiching my wrists they were also making fun of me. I wish, just for a short time, they could have felt what it's really like to suffer with OCD. Only those that suffer with OCD really understand how devastating it can be and the huge effort we have to make just to function. We who suffer with OCD are members of a club we never asked to join but our shared experiences can be of great benefit especially at those times we are at our lowest. Thank you for sharing your story.

It’s the worst. If you don’t mind me asking, was it caused by intrusive thoughts that you made those attempts ?

@@amy-janequinton3193 Yes, I have a job offer on line. When I got it I was excited about it but afterwards due to OCD overwhelms (down days) I got truly hopeless especially when I saw people around me working with a lot of efficiency and expertise while I couldn’t find the energy to get out of my bed. It gives me fears that I will actually die or not have enough energy for that job or at the very least will become a laughingstock for people who will see my nitpicking and incompetence.

i really wish ocd wasn’t portrayed as this awesome quirky neat disorder. could you imagine how many people could’ve gotten help right away if it wasn’t so stigmatized? when i was diagnosed with it, i was actually shocked cuz.. have you seen my room? it’s messy. there’s no way i have ocd.
obviously since then i did a lot more research and yes, i confirmed that i have it

      Hi!
i have groinal responses without intrusive thoughts, i have POCD and ZOCD
so i get the groinal responses when i see/hear a trigger
Do you know that OCD isn't about just thoughts? It can be intrusive sensations too. You are not alone. I know how it's hard to find information about groinal responses without thoughts, but it's pretty common in OCD community
