When I hear this song my heart aches for everything that once was, and only can be attained by simply closing your eyes, letting the waves take you to the greeting of the Sun, as he shines his blessings upon. Our Waialua Skies..Class of 96
Born and raised Waialua/Haleiwa. Love this song. I remember singing this song (karaoke) once in my brother's bar (Kainoa's). This song bring tears to my eyes and good memories too. 1960 Waialua grad. My families are still there and someday I'll go home to visit.
My dad grew up in Waialua and worked in the cane fields when he was young. He knew some of the band members' dads growing up. When The Fabulous Krush played Hilton Hawaiian Village I went to hear and support them many times. Talking with them on breaks, I found them to be humble, friendly bruddas who happened to be very talented. Mahalo for your music and aloha, guys.
I hear this song and I can hear the rain falling, walking down the hallways in high school, going to Aloha Stadium for football games, swimming at Magic Island . . . thanks for the memories! :)
Dedicated to a Waialua daughter, Earlyn Roylo Rabena. (06/21/1963 - 02/17/2021) We love you and we’ll miss you. “Aloha mākou iā ʻoe no nā kau a kau. A hui hou kākou.”
Yes, just love this song . Having been on and off this isle; always so good to return back home. Mahalo to The KRUSHohana !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky I can still remember hanabata days too and still alive. Sincerely, Robert S.J. Hu July 12, 2019.
Being away so far from home and hearing this song makes me want to cry. Just a small town island boy (yes waialua boy) away in the army for more years to come
my hometown bring lot's of memories from a childhood day's although I wasn't born there's so all I really remember was playing somewhere in Waialua or nearby Heliewa parks close to the Ocean which I loved the beaches so much & a lot's of fun during my hana butter days. sweet good time's was all I do remember Aloha ka kou malama pono our Lands for the Hawaiian people's Hometown (RESPECT)
