I have had the 145 now for about a month now. I am getting back to playing the piano again after not having one for about 18 years. For me this was an excellent choice. It was down to the Casio 870 and this one. The casio had more features more powerful speakers, However in every review I have listened to the 145 always sounded fuller and richer. To me it is amazing how the piano can pick up on all the tiny nuances of how you strike a key differently and it will play it like it should. From the slightest tap of the key to a hard pound it portrays everything just like it should. I find I am forgetting that I am playing on a digital piano! Yes the 725 does sound better and probably feels better to some but that is all relative to the player and audiance. Personally the action on my 145 reminds me of my old clarendon upright. I couldn't justify, (yet) the extra $800 for the 725. I sure do feel like I made the absolute best choice with the "entry" 145!
Yamaha has the YDP-165 which is about the same price with the CLP-725.Therefore its still a mystery to me why they have two different lines of pianos at about the same price.
It is similar to Kawai lines KDP, CN, and CA series. For example, the Yamaha YDP165 is $1,500 here in the US, which is the same price of a Kawai KDP120. Then the Yamaha CLP-725 is $2,000 and the Kawai CN201 is $2,200. You can also get a Kawai CA49 for $2,000. So, Kawai has 3 lines with similar prices as well.
I got rid of a Casio Privia from 2010 after moving, a month later I miss it. It was a workhorse for 12 years. I went to a Yamaha dealer and tried a 745. Now it’s all I can think about. Just so awesome but a little pricey
it seems like the YDP 145 sounds much fuller, richer, and has more depth, and is cheaper. or are my ears deceiving me? What would really be the function that will make me buy the CLP 725 instead of the YDP 145?
i dont understand why there is no comparson between arius 165 and 725. 165 is wirt price closer to 145.

Is it possible to do a comparison between YDP 184 and CLP 735? both are very similarly priced. Thanks!

I know it might sound like a weird question, but would you buy the CLP 440 or the Arius YDP 143? like if you only have these 2 options to buy?! Cheers
