I haven't watched everything yet but im very happy you and Freya came to the Lake District , I live on the West coast . Lake Windermere is a really wonderful place to chill . The fighter planes practice through the mountains, Great Terrain with all the mountains. Hope you enjoyed it , not alot to do but to relax .

Nah, those were American F-35s from Lakenheath in Suffolk. They fly up there for low level stuff

I live 1 hour away from the Lake District and we go quite often; we went last month to climb Scafell Pike, the tallest peak in England - yes there were fighter jets flying overhead very low and supersonic, was a magnificent sight to behold! It is because there is an RAF airbase there (RAF Spadeadam) where they do frequent training exercises

The fighter jets in the lakes is for training linked to spadeadam and the other bases around the lakes.
As someone from this part of The Lakes, it is MAD to see you visiting my home town… and one of my old work places. 🤯 as for the jets/planes - the lakes allow opportunity for low level flying, and the surrounding mountains create a challenging terrain to navigate, all for RAF training. 😊

I live in the Lake District and I live in a very nice area of it, those Jets you're talking about fly through the valley near my house and I can pretty much be on the same level as the jets. One of the craziest things I've ever witnessed that is now just a crazy normality for me

I used to go to lakes aquarium alot, cool to see josh seeing some places more local to me :)
So the jets flying over the lakes are a regular occurance as they practice their low flying skills through the valleys, Lake Windermere is a beautiful spot and only 20 mins drive from where I live, hope you enjoyed your stay :-)

You get low hard deck trading of 200ft going north up the lake when I work up there and it’s clear weather we get emails of the training sometimes you get Chinook and apache training at 100 ft, josh had lunch at the swan hotel, trout-beck hotel and Ambleside

best place to live the Lake District. your going to all the right places but missed some hidden gems trust me. hit me up for lots of tips for round here if you need them. also the air force uses this area for low flying practice round the mountains.
