      I was planning on 1 pack roses, 1 bunch carnations, 1 bunch lemon leaf and eucalyptus. Some leather fern. I have water tubes for the roses only (it will be hot day). I'm going to use placemats like you suggested. I added some details on my facebook page of what extra can be done with the placemat.

    Loved this as with all your arrangements.
    I remember a similar style back in the 70's when they would be presented in a full cellophane wrap with a big nylon type bow.
    The bouquets had no rhyme of reason and appeared to have any old bits and bobs of greens and flowers.
    So pleased to see how much has changed. 🦄🦄🦄🦄

    This design is so pretty, John. I love the way you designed it to be front-facing on the big table. It seemed to be a very forgiving way to arrange. Of course, you have the mad skills to make beautiful arrangements in any situation, but for those of us just learning, I think this would be easier than designing a hand-held bouquet "in the air" so to speak. Happy Mardi Gras from Louisiana. ;0)

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  4 года назад

      Jean Vignes happy Mardi Gras to you! I bet that is fabulous 😀 thank you fir the comments - this bouquet could be placed in a vase on a sideboard or the recipient can rearrange to suit, so maybe put into two vases by splitting it. Enjoy the Mardi Gras 🌺

    I've just discovered your channel and am loving your videos. Any advice on where an amateur can purchase fresh flowers? Thank you 😊

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  4 года назад +1

      Elise Fairley thank you! Welcome aboard 🛳 for buying flowers you can either buy retail or wholesale. Retail would be supermarkets and florists - it’s amazing actually what some supermarkets now stock, and at a good price. Wholesale you need to have a business and the volumes and quantities are maybe more than you need just now. But it’s a,ways good to start supporting your local florist - they will be able to get you more unusual flowers when you are ready. Enjoy your flower journey and just go for it!

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  4 года назад

      yuri Lee I don’t know what brand it is specifically, but it came from our local Van Vliet wholesaler. They tend to have a good range there, but it wasn’t labelled with the company name. 🙋🏼‍♂️

    Very pretty. My only thought.. No water.. So they would almost need to be made up as needed

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  4 года назад

      Toni Cosentino this was the style in the U.K. 30 years ago for all bouquets - we kept them in a bucket of water until collected or delivered , but yes you are right, they are out of water for a bit. However, flowers are ok out of water as long as the customer recuts the stems when they put them in a vase. This will be written on the flower food sachet, so they should do it.
      What was good was they could be made up in advance, sat upright in buckets of water - maybe two per bucket, and lined up along a wall. So they took up less space than handtieds. 😀

      Hello. Yes it’s waterproof - this is just an opaque cellophane - the supplier was Van Vliet, they have wide coverage in the U.K. and Ireland and I think elsewhere in EU.
