Ali-a! The weight tells you how much the health will be. the 701 psyduck was XS and had 66 health but the 697 psyduck was XL so he had 76. Hope that helps anyone! Btw Like so Ali-a Can see!
Interesting theory, but that's mere coincidence, the only thing that affects HP is the stamina IV and base stat, however, since Niantic keeps drawing our attention to the weight, through the achievements and the appraisal system, I think there is probably a secret mechanic that weight is involved in, but it hasn't been discovered yet.
If it's like the pokemon games, then maybe weight just adds more diversity to the pokemon. So even if they're of the same species and CP level, they would somehow still be different.
ATTENTION ALL WHO DONT KNOW HOW IMPORTANT IVS ARE: If you played the Pokemon games competitively or just looked at some calculations, you would know IV's aren't as good as everyone thinks it is. You want the perfect Ivs to get the best possible.... BUT...... Ivs are insignificant when looking at the overall stats. IV's are added to the BASE stat of a Pokemon which is the same for each type of Pokemon (each Charizard has the same base stats), think of IV's as a bonus and if you have "bad IV's" don't let it ruin your day! A blastoise with 0 IV's in defense still has a high base defense. Hope this helps you all sleep at night, if you caught an insane Pokemon and it has low IV's it's still a good Pokemon, it just can't reach its highest potential. If you can even max out your Pokemon, a max IV pokemon only gets about 300-350 more MAX CP (which I'm sure no one will get). The only that matters (which unfortunately is not in our control) is the moves :(
It's not so much "settling" for them, as it is about adapting to the mechanics of the game. In the core handheld games games, once you've completed the game and have the pokemon you want to perfect (if you own enough pokemon games and have a few friends who do likewise, you'll be able to get hold of whatever you want), you can pretty much guarantee a legit, 5IV Pokemon with the moves you want if you're wiling to put a few hours in, no matter how poor the original. So, within about a week of completing the game you can have a full team of the highly competitive Pokemon that you have chosen. With Pokemon Go there's a far larger element of grinding and even then a very large element of luck. And in the meantime you want to be spending some candies on some reasonably good Pokemon for the XP and so that you can grind gyms for the coins. Even when you've found a good one of that specific Pokemon (note that Ali has been grinding out Eevees pretty much since day one and his best one at the time of this evolution was in the 70s), and even assuming that it's not an Eevee and therefore you know what it'll evolve into, then unless you've been incredibly lucky to get a pretty much maxed out, perfect IV pokemon (noting again that Ali has been on the Eevee grind since day one and his best ever is a good couple of hundred CP below a high IV, maxed out one) you still need to grind out a huge number candies to power it up. And even then, mediocre IVs with the best moveset will still rip to shreds perfect IVs with bad moves...
God Of RA: I think we agree on the ultimate aim, but are coming at it from almost opposite starting points. My view is that the game is several months away from levelling out. My reasoning is that given that you can only put one of your own pokemon in a gym, and given that level 30 is a rarity even among full time players, it will truly take that long for the keen little and often types to catch up, populate gyms with comparable fully powered up Pokemon, and only then do IVs really become the distinction. By comparison, once Sun and Moon have been out for six to eight weeks, it will be an absolute given that any Pokemon you face against a competent trainer will be max IVs with hand-picked moves - the differential will be strategy. At the moment that's not the case in Go. Having a good CP top page with good movesets and type coverage will still be able to take just about any Gym, even if all of them have mediocre IVs and the Gym has a high IV, fully powered up pokemon in there (which remains extremely rare). The time will come where that changes, but it's still quite a way off. Hence the reason why Ali has held off on this video for as long as he has despite having hinted at it for many, many weeks - he could have been one of the very first to do a video on it, but he quite rightly delayed because to go too hard on convincing people to hold off evolving, too early wouldn't have been doing them any favours. Now is probably the right time to start bringing the subject up. Then again, look at Ali's top six compared to other RUclipsrs at a similar level - it's a long way off because he's holding out for IV optimization. It's a strategy that makes sense from a RUclips series perspective, but people who need to grind gyms because they don't want to spend too much cash on the game would be better advised evolving as they always have. The one exception is unless they happen to chance upon a 90+ IV pokemon which can become one of the best of its type, in which case they're going to want to start grinding that pokemon for the huge number of candies they'll need.
Man being in a big city like London is such a huge advantage for Pokemon GO! We met people who came here to Niagara Falls just to play Pokemon GO (poke-vacation? Lol) but London or New York is where I would want to be.
or Tokyo!! That's where i wanna go :)) How's the hunting in Niagara Falls btw? I went there on vacation a few years ago but that was before pokemon go.
It has picked up 356 kms while playing I'm lvl 23 and my best Pokemon is a 2100 snorlax, the only 1100+ I have ever seen was the snorlax( at the time 1400) and then got two from eggs and powered it up
CALABRIA Hunting here is pretty good actually. Not as many huge hotspots as London, but there are a few (like by the Falls in the tourist area) and last weekend we caught a wild Dragonite while vlogging in a place they spawn regularly.
I hatched a Eevee at 610cp which is currently my highest cp Eevee, After watching this video I decided to check it's IV's & to my surprise it's a 96% IV Eevee!! I nearly fainted when I found out.
I'm a level 27 and have hatched 3 eevees out of 10k eggs...all of them less than 80% perfect ivs and the last one was a 61% 609 cp eevee...If I see another eevee out of a 10k egg I swear I'm chucking my phone at the nearest semi and never installing the game again.
I hatched two more 10k eggs out of which I got another eevee. I was level 28, its cp is 598 and its ivs were 75% perfect. I have since replaced my phone and am no longer playing the game. Adieu! (I am still playing the game but I did have to replace my phone and the plastic grill of my Lincoln). I'm just pissy because in every game I play the players around me are literally handed the best stuff available and I work 4 times harder but receive nothing but garbage. Evolved my 4th Arcanine last night and got bulldoze for the THIRD time. I have plenty of amazing eeveelutions with 90% or better ivs and the best skillsets but when it comes to everything else I get fucked over hard. Except my Dragonite. maxed stamina and attack with dragon breath/dragon claw, he's pretty op.
however IV is also not everything. with the example that you just gave with the eevee, yes the 200 cp eevee is a higher iv than the 600 cp one, but is it worth the stardust and candy investment? also movesets also play in factor specially in gym battles, a 100% arcanine with bulldoze is worse than say a 80% arcanine with fire blast.
I agree many people don't realize this things watch you gonna see a lot of people complaining to Alia because his saying IV is important which it isn't all the time.
But seriously tho, you're absolutely right, and he could have really explained IVs better, his explanation makes no sense to someone that has never heard of IVs before
You're always too slow! IV calculates have been up for months. The advice you're giving is pre appraisal update. Your app gives a huge potential range. Poke assist uses the new appraisal system to narrow down to get the exact one. Your app needs updating!
It's also common sense! If the 290cp eevee has 100% IV and a 500cp had 90% you'd be better off sticking with the 90% one. The 290 would cost too much to power up. Waste of stardust. You must be face palming not putting the appraisal stuff in. Check out a youtuber called trainer tips!
He may have knows IV calculates have been out for months but all he's doing is basically advertising his app so he gets money and more people use his app.
also didn't use the appraisal system and the more you power the pokemon, the more exact the iv percentage will be. And a word of advice for everyone, usually when you find an eevee at and eevee nest or like a dratini at a dratini nest, it wont have great ivs for the most part
The IV calculator doesn't seem to work on a few of my bulbasaurs.. even freshly caught ones Bulbasaur : CP 457 HP 58 Stardust 2200 Not powered up get message no combinations found for those entries. i only get these on bulbasaurs atm. slightly annoying ive caught about 50 today in holland park and have nuff candies to get a venusaur. but cant tell which is my best iv :((
This dude is a prime example of what not to do in Pokemon Go, he doesn't know how to calculate IVs properly. If there is anyone you should be listening to, check out Trainer Tips.
.....look at the IV calculations he did when he "decided" his Eevee was 53%. The list of possible combinations did not include 53% so there is no way his Eevee is 53%. It is either 66,64,57,55,51,44, or 42. With the new appraisal feature you can pinpoint the exact IVs but I'm sure this dude won't figure out how to use it until 4 weeks from now.
+Tommy Pendleton I agree, Ali-A clearly doesn't really know what he is talking about, but at least he isn't like MasterSaint, that guy is the worst. Alia also mentions IVs make a big difference and they dont, they make small differences that could help you win a battle but it won't make a big difference.
+JegErN0rsk While I don't think they make a huge difference I like the grind to find the best one, so far the only 100% one I have a is a bellsprout :)
Not really, using them together is great. Both of them give some info that the other one doesn't, so when you combine them you have a ton of info about your 'mons.
Ali you failed to mention the appraisal system and how it can give you a Pokémons approximate IV's ,you should watch trainer tips to get some Pokemon Go education
Lol seriously. If you know what each appraisal means you'll get a very good idea of the IVs on your Pokemon. Tmartn and Trainer tips explained it very good!
+Owen Swain according to Reddit, it was an inside joke among the developers when the game was in beta phase. I might be slightly wrong though as I don't know the exact details about it.
Hey Ali-A, please for the love of God tell you GF to stop biting her lower lip. I forget what the hell im doing when she does it... I bet other people think the same damn thing. good video sir
I'm assuming you're saying that it's attractive. As a chick, I find it annoying and makes her seem like she's trying way too hard to be cute when she already is.
The thing happening in your eeveelution is that, if you name Rainer its turning into a Joltean and if you name it eevee and evolve it, its turning into Flareon. Try naming it to Sparky or Pyro. And see what it turns into.
Skill >>> cp >iv Skill is the most important one. If you really got many stardust and candy, then you can train up high iv with low cp pokemon.(make sure skill are both good)
As much as I agree with you on the IV value determining which to elvolve, it does not always determine which one you should be powering up. You have to take into account for the move sets that the Pokemon have. Move sets > IV's
She wears makeup for herself not for you or for anybody else. Girls and women do not try to look nice to impress you and other men so why tf do you always think your input is necessary? If they cared about what you thought about how they looked they would have asked you!
The first Eevee was 42-66%, the second 53-62%. Frankly, kind of useless example. (The first could be 66% and the second 53%.) Rename with the ranges,(or like
I use a pokesniper, which catches the rare pokemon I want. There will be a list that appears and if you see something you want you click "snipe" and it may or may not catch it for you. It can get away, alot.
but when you power them up and refine your stats it is possible that the pokemon with an average of 57% gets lower than the Pokemon with 52%. The one gets higher the other is going lower in the IV.
You can quickly find your pokemon's IV range by using the appraisal system, in your pokemon's menu. Depending on the message, your team leader will hint towards your pokemon's perfection percentage, with 1 of the messages for 80%+ perfect IV's, which is very convenient, since this is a good percentage to refer to when choosing to keep or transfer a specific pokemon. One great source of more info is Trainer Tips, watch this channel for more info on it and other pokemon go tips and general/indepth knowledge.
Ali-A is beast he was the one showed me what Pokemon go Was after that I loved it,thanks Ali-A your the BEST!! Never stop being a youtuber I want to be like you in the future,Peace🤘🏼
Pokemon found in nests will generally be lower IV's than Pokemon found in eggs and that just randomly appear. Check all of your Pokemon that hatch from eggs. Best bet is that they are high IV and probably high CP as well. Also correct me if I am mistaken. But isn't the % perfect IV actually what determines the max CP of a Pokemon?
Not only the IV's of the Pokémon but also the moveset of the pokémon including their DPS (damge per second) matters. Since there are 6 possible movesets per pokémon i add the IV followed by - and a number from 1 to 6 (1 being the best possible moveset and 6 being the worst) . I think this might be really usefull for some players who are really trying to get the best possible pokémon. Greetings from Belgium
if cp/iv is about equal make sure to seperate by deff and attack btw, also yes that is the max potential BUT thats for YOUR current trainer lvl once you level you should see the bar max potential raise
Hey appreciate the vid man. even though the info is abit off i can really see that you are trying your best to make the best content you can. keep it up!
No, high IV pokemon are only useful if you plan to power them up. A cp 500/low iv pokemon will be almost the same as a cp 500/high iv pokemon. The higher the IVs the better the pokemon at max level
Trainer Tips (Nick) actually explains how to look up exact IV and has wayyy more information about it then this video. He also has been explaining IV a month or more... check him out
just check the IV in the 'Appraise' option.. its a lot easier to understand and less time spent in all the app changing than the IV calculator that shows percentage etc.
use the appraise button. if it says that ur pokemon is a wonder, or battles with the best of them or watever it means that your pokemons iv is 80% or higher
But CP Means it's Showing all power in combat or battle so shouldn't a high IV Pokemon have a higher CP than a lower IV Pokemon that was supposed to have a higher CP?
People have been telling you IV's from the start. You kept telling people to evolve them depending on CP and player level, and people kept saying "CP can be trained, IV is most important"
Alia, I know you're putting a lot of your own personal resources into this pokefind development but there are much better iv calculators out there that are faster, more intuitive, with better interface and are more accurate but most importantly won't get you banned because they don't log into your account...maybe you guys should look into developing an overlay iv/evo calculator.
Eevees are as common in my area as drowsys are in england/canada. I have done the Eevee evolution almost as my times as I've done the rattata or pidgey evolutions. I almost never see Drowsies though! I've only even caught 1!
Ali A i fly fish a lot its very difficult to start it would take a long time to learn, but would be very entertaining in a vlog i would watch it for sure
I find that Squirtle is the most common of the starters to find in the wild, like I only have 2 Bulbasaurs (one from incense and one from an egg) and only 1 charmander (my starting Pokemon) and I have 6 squirtles.
B-but... don´t you know how to get a vaporeon in the first attemp????!!! Oh my... poor guy. Was the first thing I learned playing pokemon go, and I am not an expert! xD
Ali-a! The weight tells you how much the health will be. the 701 psyduck was XS and had 66 health but the 697 psyduck was XL so he had 76.
Hope that helps anyone! Btw Like so Ali-a Can see!
Interesting theory, but that's mere coincidence, the only thing that affects HP is the stamina IV and base stat, however, since Niantic keeps drawing our attention to the weight, through the achievements and the appraisal system, I think there is probably a secret mechanic that weight is involved in, but it hasn't been discovered yet.
look at the 651 eevees the higher IV eevee hs 6.53 weight and 74 health while the other 651 eevee has 8.05 weight and 78 health
if you were to go back and look at all the othe pokemon where they were XL or XS you would see the XS has lower health than the other XL
If it's like the pokemon games, then maybe weight just adds more diversity to the pokemon. So even if they're of the same species and CP level, they would somehow still be different.
Untrue.
ATTENTION ALL WHO DONT KNOW HOW IMPORTANT IVS ARE:
If you played the Pokemon games competitively or just looked at some calculations, you would know IV's aren't as good as everyone thinks it is. If you can even max out your Pokemon, a max IV pokemon only gets about 300-350 more MAX CP (which I'm sure no one will get). The only that matters (which unfortunately is not in our control) is the moves :(
Basically don't stress over IVS :)
+God Of RA Exactly
It's not so much "settling" for them, as it is about adapting to the mechanics of the game.
In the core handheld games games, once you've completed the game and have the pokemon you want to perfect (if you own enough pokemon games and have a few friends who do likewise, you'll be able to get hold of whatever you want), you can pretty much guarantee a legit, 5IV Pokemon with the moves you want if you're wiling to put a few hours in, no matter how poor the original. And even then, mediocre IVs with the best moveset will still rip to shreds perfect IVs with bad moves...

I hatched a Eevee at 610cp which is currently my highest cp Eevee, After watching this video I decided to check it's IV's & to my surprise it's a 96% IV Eevee!! I nearly fainted when I found out.
I also have a 15cp Drowzee that's 95% IV, Not sure if it's worth all those candies to power up. Please let me know if it's worth powering up.
+CPNICHOLLS it's not worth powering up the drowsy cause they aren't that great so it's a waste of stardust and candy
In my experience, hatched pokemon are guaranteed to be at least 80%. I think the lowest IV pokemon I've hatched was like an 82%.
I hatched two more 10k eggs out of which I got another eevee. I was level 28, its cp is 598 and its ivs were 75% perfect. I have since replaced my phone and am no longer playing the game. Adieu! took you 2 months to bring this video about IVs?
Pokemon go hasn't been out for 2 months
He mentioned it before as well
it's pretty much 2 months now and IVs have been know. about since along time ago.
+Tommy Pendleton true
+Tommy Pendleton I agree, Ali-A clearly doesn't really know what he is talking about, but at least he isn't like MasterSaint, that guy is the worst.
Alia also mentions IVs make a big difference and they dont, they make small differences that could help you win a battle but it won't make a big difference.
+JegErN0rsk While I don't think they make a huge difference I like the grind to find the best one, so far the only 100% one I have a is a bellsprout :)
+AngelZee me too:)
not gonna mention appraisal sort of takes the point away from your website
You did mention it though? WTF....Why you lie bro? WTF....Why?
Yeah I was confused as to why he totally ignored the new appraisal update, but you're right that it would take away from his IV site.
+superduper man He was talking about AliA not mentioning it. Why you always no pay attention, bud?
Not really, using them together is great. Both of them give some info that the other one doesn't, so when you combine them you have a ton of info about your 'mons.
ye but the appraisal system is really bad because it just says every single one is breath taking so you dont know which one is the best
This is what i got out of the start.
"Eevee."
+xlSneak-_ he just want peoplw to go to the website… that's why he didn't said anything about the appraidal system
If he told people about that they wouldn't go on his stupid app or website lol
Inertia is a property of matter

Lmao a 3000 dragonite would shit on a 100 dragonite and would be a much wiener option to go into a battle with 😭
Wiser* lol what a mug
lol weiner
You missed the point, which would be to power up the 100 so its better than the 3,000.
+Naterman jr powering up a 100cp is not worth it, and there's no way you'd have enough candies
You know you can name Eevee sparky to get jolteon Rainer for vaporeon and Tamao umbreon that's all I remember
Linnea leafeon and rea glaceon
Get out ali. Title: Your Pokemon suck!
Great way to get views by making other people feel bad
And the appraise system that was added in is good too

AliA acts like he knows everything... It's gotten annoying.
+Cheezy Sneezy yo stfu
Cheezy Sneezy he doesn't actually, I said everything. He may know quite a bit, but I'm sure I know more.
+Cheezy Sneezy dude he doesn't like he still thinks eeveee evolutions are based on rng
Ok you guys are right. My reply was ignorant and stupid.
"He may know quite a bit, but im sure i know more." LOL HYPOCRITE YOU THINK YOU KNOW EVERYTHING

Yeah
+AVIRAL SHARMA do u know what it means???
+Owen Swain according to Reddit, it was an inside joke among the developers when the game was in beta phase. I might be slightly wrong though as I don't know the exact details about it.
there were 6 pikachews in my beach house but I could only get 4 because i ran out of pokeballs
Lol pikachew
Pikachew... K
THE legendary Pikachew? Whoa.....
you already caught 4 Pikachus and still you dont know the spelling of Pikachu.
By Pikachew they were probably making up a pun.
+Kerri September I dont think shes cute at all
Kerri September I dont think she does it on purpose though
The thing happening in your eeveelution is that, if you name Rainer its turning into a Joltean and if you name it eevee and evolve it, its turning into Flareon. Try naming it to Sparky or Pyro. And see what it turns into.
That moment, Ali doesn't realize that all nest spawned pokemon have average-bad IVs

I don't get it
No this is patrick
+space kitten boi he did it
Skill >>> cp >iv
Skill is the most important one.
If you really got many stardust and candy, then you can train up high iv with low cp pokemon.(make sure skill are both good)
I have never gotten a drowzee or whatever because I'm in Texas 😞
In England EVERYONE has a hypno by lvl 10 and if a gym is lvl 3+ it has a hypno 99%
You probably live in the middle of no where. I get them all the time.
same man
in one afternoon i evolved 3 fockin drownzees and caught 2 wild hypno's
Same. I'm level 17 with no drozees or Hypnos
TEAM VALOR
whats the name of the song at 1:26? i really like it :)
As much as I agree with you on the IV value determining which to elvolve, it does not always determine which one you should be powering up. You have to take into account for the move sets that the Pokemon have. Move sets > IV's
You are making an IV Video after there already is a appraise feature WTF? Your Pokemon Go videos have declined!
*an *in quality
yup, he's way behind.
I though he was going to explain the appraisals dialogue and IV%. He did fall behind.
Mystic7 and Tmar are way better for that kinda thing!
Eh... The gf is pretty, but WHY so much makeup!? natural looking girls are better
+Cheezy Sneezy Good ass point
+Cheezy Sneezy why so butthurt on every comment❓
Not always
If wearing makeup makes her feel good about herself and makes her think she looks better then why not, she may just be self-concious about herself?
She wears makeup for herself not for you or for anybody else. Girls and women do not try to look nice to impress you and other men so why tf do you always think your input is necessary? If they cared about what you thought about how they looked they would have asked you!
Got a baulbasuar in a egg 90 percent perfect
1st one
+nick afford gg
I got a cp 11 😭😭😪
Balbasuar
If you apraise your Pokemon and it says it's breath taking then it's IV is above 82% and you don't have to check each one

Yes
Yes
+rapri the higher the percent, the better
Yes
+MakeRUclipsGradeAgain Hey Grade
The first Eevee was 42-66%, the second 53-62%. Frankly, kind of useless example. (The first could be 66% and the second 53%.)

I have a 2000 cp dragonite but I got god damn hard banned :/
Yes, I cheated.
How?
... Just look it up, google is your friend.
+Black Pegasus I'm currently using a bit myself so I don't need to look anything up but how did u find a drogonite, that's so rare!
I use a pokesniper, which catches the rare pokemon I want. There will be a list that appears and if you see something you want you click "snipe" and it may or may not catch it for you. It can get away, alot.
+Black Pegasus im using it as well but still i havent been banned loool

Your dog is sooo gorgeous and your cats are sooo adorable
100 episodes later and ali finally explains the numbers
but when you power them up and refine your stats it is possible that the pokemon with an average of 57% gets lower than the Pokemon with 52%.
When you move up in levels for your human character the bar will extend as well on each Pokémon.
Nice to see that you listen to your followers, i mentioned this in one of your videos a few weeks ago....
Ali when there's a nest of pokemon spawning they usually all have lower cp's than when you find them randomly or hatch them
I've Been waiting for a video like this
Trainer Tips (Nick) actually explains how to look up exact IV and has wayyy more information about it then this video. He also has been explaining IV a month or more... check him out
I just absolutely love your audi r8.
Thx alia for the app best app you and ssundee really did it
just check the IV in the 'Appraise' option.. its a lot easier to understand and less time spent in all the app changing than the IV calculator that shows percentage etc.
use the appraise button. if it says that ur pokemon is a wonder, or battles with the best of them or watever it means that your pokemons iv is 80% or higher
if there is a nest, all of the nest is poor IV. just farm and get the candies.
The trick of the eevee's names, you can't only do it ones for each.
Throw the Pokeball from the corner if the screen straight upwards and it will always go to the middle area of the screen.
Wow! You only took 2 months to check your facebook and see what 99% of the pokemon go players already new!
👏👏👏👏🙌🙌
But CP Means it's Showing all power in combat or battle so shouldn't a high IV Pokemon have a higher CP than a lower IV Pokemon that was supposed to have a higher CP?
Ali I told you that not naming it would work I'm so happy for you
Have a 248 caterpie, almost transferred but did the appraise and he is actually pretty strong.. 💪🏼💪🏼
What about the appraise of the Pokemon? Isn't that supposed to help determine if you should evolve it too?
Apparently, being next to some sort of lake, pond etc. (something with water) increases the chance of getting a vaporeon! :D
Ali A i fly fish a lot its very difficult to start it would take a long time to learn, but would be very entertaining in a vlog i would watch it for sure
You need to check the attack dig for flareion body slam for vaperion and swift for joltion
That park is where they filmed one of the scenes in the Pixels movie
you could put sparky, rainer, and pyro for any eevee evolution you want its an easter egg
Oh my... poor guy. Was the first thing I learned playing pokemon go, and I am not an expert! xD
The reason the third eevee was gone was because you were walking and you walked far enough for the eevee to disappear from the screen
