Well, it may be because they are Hispanic. Not all Hispanic people does this but (in my example) I called by dad "Papi" instead of "Papá " and "Papi" is like saying "Daddy" in english

Veronica says Daddy like that because of one or two reasons: 1. she usually calls her father by his first name and ever since he didn't get her that pony for her birthday she calls him Daddy to annoy him, or 2. That's actually her porn replacement father while her real dad is away. Either way it sounds incredibly forced and unnatural

00:00 - 00:14: ICONIC ✨ This reminds me of an episode in S2 when the identity of the Sugarman is revealed. Slowly and dramatically the camera pans its way towards the individual. It also helps that Mark Consuelos is the actor (whom I adore), so I suppose that does make me a bit biased.
00:15 - 00:22: Fucking HILARIOUS. It was the appropriate (yet, still somehow cringy) reaction and truthfully, I’m surprised it didn’t elicit more of a giggle out of people.
00:23 - 00:45: Hermione was a drunken badass in this scene and nothing will change my stance on that. Veronica needed to be put in her place. I heavily dislike Veronica, if you couldn’t tell by my previous statement. If you don’t understand why, you clearly have not been paying much attention to the entitlement of her character. One of the most irritating “Riverdale” teens. Cheryl Blossom received character development which is why she does not bother me NEARLY as much. In fact, she is one of my favourites by the end of S2.
00:46 - 1:03: Veronica pisses me the fuck off. The way that she looks so smug and proud of herself… someone needs to wipe that smirk off her damn face. I bet she didn’t even stop to think about WHY her mother was so hellbent on keeping her away from it all and her father only embraced it. Egotistical dumbass.
1:04 - 1:19: I have… nothing. That scene was corny as hell. “Our

OBEDIENT,

GIRL.”
Sooo dramatised for absolutely zero reason.
1:20 - 1:37: This clip in particular is so ridiculous to me because of the back-and-forth Veronica does with her parents. One episode, she’s all “I just want to be a family- but I DON’T want to be a part of the shady dealings”. The next, she whines “You never let me get involved! I wanna be a part of the action… be in the room where it happens…” and finally, two episodes later, “I never wanted any of this. YOU let him back into our lives, Mom. YOU and ONLY YOU condoned this, I held no part in enabling it WHATSOEVER”. The order of that continues to change throughout the entire show. It’s baffling how wishy-washy she is playing the fucking Devil’s Advocate with a goddamn mafia boss and then having the audacity to pin most of the blame back onto Hermione. As she once quoted herself, Hiram will not dare pluck a hair from Veronica’s head. Hermione is in real danger. She continues to accuse her openly knowing full well of what her father is capable of. It’s a fucking slap in the face to Josie, Ethel, and the remaining students that she tried to be all “girls supporting girls” with when all it took was beloved 🫶Daddykins🫶 furrowing his brow and she came running back.
1:38 - 1:47: Literally what in the fuck… your bloodied boyfriend is being dragged into a fight pit and you just HAVE to make a remark on his abs? I swear to God, I am a feminist (for ALL women) and try my goddamn hardest to not use these words when referring to women (or anyone for that matter, but women especially) but she is slutty. It’s disgusting how disgruntled he appears with blood covering his body and she can’t withhold commenting on the sexiness of his stomach muscles? Are you fucking kidding me? I’m no fan of Archie but that was shallow as HELL. My first reaction would’ve been “holy shit, that’s Archie. Is he okay? What happened to him?” NOT “that’s totally Archie. I recognize those abs anywhere. I can’t wait to trace them with my witchy fingernails once I rescue his fine ass”.
1:48 - 1:56: “Can’t they ever just, like, have a conversation?” - Jughead Jones, 2018. I’m also quite disturbed by the fact that Veronica seems to take advantage of Archie when he’s in very vulnerable states of mind. Another example being when Fred was shot. His father’s blood was circling the drain and she had to have him right then and there. It would’ve been such a wholesome scene if she had gotten in the shower and just HELD HIM. Closeness? Check. Intimacy? Check. Implied nudity? Check. Comforting girlfriend = comforted boyfriend? Check. It would’ve crossed off all of the boxes but the writers HAD to make it sexual. Don’t know if I wanna hate Veronica or how they chose to portray her. Perhaps both. Seems very rapey that Archie is so vulnerable and sensitive (with what his own 🫶daddykins🫶 hanging onto life by a thread) and she inserts herself and turns it into sex. Or rather, she inserts him. Either way, it’s gross and the CONSENT is extremely half-assed. I’d go as far as to call it dubious consent because nothing about that scene sits right with me, but because we’re “the viewers” we can’t really assume we know anything.
