@nestartfully One suggestion - do not put the switchboard for the microwave or any other kitchen appliance at the back - shift it to the side or else it will be a pain to switch it on or off frequently.
Oh that is such a useful suggestion 🙈 ours is already at the back which is a cut in the wood so if we shift we will be left with a hole in the cabinet
It is not important for now but if you are not shift then it will painful for life time

V useful video ..thank you…we are going to do our kitchen and I was confused between full body and quartz…but after seeing the stain test, we’ve decided to go for full body vitrified tiles..also not as expensive as quartz
The stains do go after using acetone ... and you can choose but also note that in the samples we had the full body tile edges chipped very easily so breakage is a concern please test a sample at your end and make the purchase

Yes it is also called Nano white and comes with some classifications but what I heard is that it is not typically suited for Indian kitchens

Not related to this video but could you suggest how to decide a color theme for the living room, and then how to put all the pieces together. Need to decide the theme for sofa covers curtains flowers etc.
Easiest way to do it is to search for a colour palette you like then look at rooms with that kind of colour on Pinterest and then you can create a moodboard of your own where you choose different items of the living room in the colours of your choice and seeif you like the final outcome, use Pinterest for research and use Canva to create moodboards

With regards to installation we got it done with a team that was comfortable installing quartz as it has to be handled with more care with regards to level so as to not develop cracks. In terms of durability the hardness is best after granite but in terms of stains granite obviously hides stains well especially black granite. In my experience a little sabina powder or acetone does the trick in cleaning up any stain. However in the area immediately around the stove I will be placing oil sticker to ensure it stays clean and stain free. This is my first time using quartz so any more practical info I will only be able to share after using it for a decent period of time.

@@drishtys oh full body tile, well in our experience it is far more fragile than quartz, breaks/cracks on impact, but doesn't stain. F

Very informative video, Anusha. I have a question, I believe the countertop is going to be placed on the cabinets in your kitchen and not on concrete pillar or wall support. Is it durable enough and would it take heavy weights if someone (for example a painter) were to stand on it?
Hi Neha, we had the exact same question, apparently the cabinet and then the layer of ply seperately placed on the cabinet is sufficient to hold the 20mm slab we are going for, It so happens that even in our previous home where we had granite it was placed in similar fashion and I have stood on it to clean the chimney several times... so seems to be fine.

what did u chose finally? why not granite in terms of stain resistant, durability etc?
We went with a sand coloured quartz because we liked the colour. We have used granite all our life and wanted to explore something else from a design perspective. However, We do realise we won't be able to be as carefree as we could have been with granite
Please share the price details of the quartz as well to compare against granite
Quartz has a huge variety and hence price ranges from ₹450 to ₹4000 per sft. I think somewhere in the 600₹ range is good quality. Granite is much cheaper and is just about 1/3 of quartz

Yes we checked out a few shops the one prominently shown in the video is Material Depot they have an amazing collection of most of the materials one needs for the interiors , I will be doing a video soon on the entire shop range do watch!
@@NestArtfully But he claimed Quartz is stain resistant but when you tried the stain didn’t go rght ?
If you clean it quickly, stain will go. In my case I left it for 3-4hrs and hence stain didnt go with normal
wiping. Stain went off when cleaned with acetone
@@NestArtfully can u tell us what other cleaning liquid be used to remove the stain other than acetone which is safer??!!!
For quartz, You can use Mr muscle cleaner , works well.
Don't go for built in cooktop.. it's difficult to clean.. maintain

Quartz stains....the manufacture warranties are worthless....they always find ways to say it was installed incorrectly or a way u used it that it voids it. Not to mention it only covers the cost of the material, I don't know about India but in America the slab is half the price of the labor to cut, polish and install....so if the manufacture gives u a slab u still have to pay for cutting, polishing and install. The different grades of quartz don't effect it's strength, it's all same composite.....India became the leading maker globally only after Trump enacted tarriff on Chinese quartz, all the companies moved to India. In this video they are frameless cabinets, which aren't solid wood and are a weaker box then a framed cabinet. They are used in condos because they subfloor is concrete....and framel3ss cabinets need a much more level floor then framed to keep the structural integrity of the rigid box in place. However this is primarily the style outside of the US. The greatest take away from this video....is see samples in person
