    Can the production version have the battery and pcb cover unscrewed like the prototype?

      It's pretty much the same in the current version

      For surfing just 1 fin is enough. But for cruising on a SUP - why not

      Hi there! We showed you what's inside the boost. On the 5.30 timeframe, it is clearly visible how the propeller moves in the water 😉

    Great idea. I may have missed it but how do you recharge the battery? Cheers from Miami

      Hi there! Thanks for your interest in our product;)
      You charge it just like any of your electronic devices, using a wired charger. We provide a custom 100-240V wall charger and it takes about 2 hours to fully charge the battery. Plus you don't even need to take the Boost Fin off the board. 🤙🏽

    2 questions. 1) Do u have a patent on this? 2) Was that a Roland Cymbal I saw you using parts from? Thx! Art-n-Kiko. Oh yea….and How hard would it be to boost the speeds on your idea? U ARE using Lipo batteries no?

    • @boostsurfing
      @boostsurfing  4 года назад

      1) yes 2) elaborate please
      You can adjust the boost speed and power in the app before going in the water. Li-ion

    will there be a version 2 where we can replace batteries, I can definitely see myself using this to the point where the battery won't hold a charge so having a cheap and easy replacement or modular approach would make buying this a worthy investment rather than a product i use for a couple months and chuck in the garage because it stopped working

      Hi Rick! Yes, the second version of the fin will be with a removable (replace) battery🤙

    How does the salt water stay out of the motor? Don't you have issues with corrosion of the charging jack and motor?

    • @boostsurfing
      @boostsurfing  3 года назад

      Each part and component exposed to saltwater are salt fog endurance resistant and certified for saltwater operation. All plugs, connectors, and other electrical contacted surfaces are covered with rubber plugs to prevent them from water.
      Seawater can enter the charger port without any damage - there's a diode that essentially acts as a one-way switch for current. It allows current to flow easily in one direction, but severely restricts current from flowing in the opposite direction

    I have one on pre order. But am interested how the signal works to the controller when the receiver is under water? I have a lift Foil, but the signal only works when the receiver is out of the water. A lot of people will buy these for down wind foiling!

    • @boostsurfing
      @boostsurfing  3 года назад

      That's true, radio waves die very rapidly when they travel through electrical conductors like saltwater. However it's not a problem in our case since the fin is not submerged deep enough in the water.

      boostsurf how long will the battery last

    • @boostsurfing
      @boostsurfing  4 года назад +2

      There are 2 modes - long boosts for paddling out and short boosts for catching waves. By default, it’s set to 8 and 20 secs accordingly but that can be easily adjusted in the mobile app, as well as the power output. One fully-charged battery provides 120 short boosts at full power which in our experience is enough for 1.5-2 hour sessions.
      With optimal configuration you can get even more out of it. Most times 4-5 second boost is enough to get on a wave, same for the long boosts depending on the spot. And you can also slightly reduce the power output. So different setups result in a different runtime and you can always find the optimal way to use it.

    • @boostsurfing
      @boostsurfing  4 года назад +2

      One fin can be paired with 2 remotes, meanwhile single remote can be paired with many fins at the same time. So the answer is yes. But is it worth it? In our opinion, only for cruising on a SUP or kayak. For surfing - just 1 is enough.
