    I once had a toy that worked off of this same principal. i believe it was a Micky Mouse bell 'piano' You would load the plastic pins into the drum per the instructions (songbook) then turn the crank and it would play the melody. I hope to find another one in my travels and recapture a piece of my younger years. Thanks for getting a cool shot of all the neat gears that power this beast!

    Thank you for posting this interesting video of the chiming & 'bonging' mechanism of the clock on St Rumbold's Cathedral in Mechelen, Belgium.
    I would suppose that they change the carillon tunes each day & depending on the time (quarter past, half past, quarter to & the hour).
    I like the auto winding mechanism when the carillon has finished! I hope there are suitable engineers to fix this clock should it break down at any point!
    Dutch clocks do a carillon similar to this particular clock depending in Holland where you are.
