I think it's way too early to flash equations on the first slides when you're introducing a model.

I thought it was quite convenient, compact and easy to follow. However, I think this class may be given assuming that attendees are taking a maths class that has prepared them, I can see it'd be a little jarring if you don't have it all fresh in your mind.
