- Hello there! Here is a piece for you all that I absolutely LOVE to play! 💖
It is called Forget-Me-Nots, and is a piece from a set called "Flowers' Life", which contains many other beautiful pieces about flowers, along with two intermezzos (pieces that are meant to break things up in the middle with something refreshing... like an interjection, or an interlude). 🌷🌻🌸🌼
These pieces are written by Dora Pejacevic, a Croatian composer of the Romantic era and 20th Century, who lived from 1885 to 1923. Dora started to compose music at the age of 12, and is said to be the first Croatian composer to write a piano concerto. Scholars hold her in high regard for being a first in her country at many things, including writing a more modern symphony than previous composers in her country had written. Not many of her numerous works have been published, but the pianist Ida Gamulin has made an excellent full recording of Flowers' Life! I do hope you'll give it a listen, because the melodies are just so beautiful! 🎹
If I can get my hands on a copy of it, I would love to learn the Rose next! 🌹
Thanks so much for watching and please subscribe! Thank you for all the love and support!! 😊 ❤️
