One of their finest works. Truly has universal appeal and puts them streets ahead of other metal bands in same (symphonic) genre. However nothing symphonic about this. Just a transparently beautiful acoustic arrangement of a song out of theTOP drawer with a world class vocalist rendering it to perfection. Why is it not better known. Why isn't she better known? Why is this very special song not known across the world & giving Simone the acclaim & celebrity she deserves? I don't know. You tell me!
...and Simone is deeply moved by this song and really feels it. For there is the famous tear on her cheek at 3.08. An absolute kiiller of a performance ..... Does it not move you to tears?
@TheJoshy676 There ARE tears in her eyes - freeze frame it and you can see her beautiful sad eyes filling up.. This gal knows how to FEEL a song. How to LIVE it. All that glitters .....
@jezkn No - Jezkn I'm with you on this one. You can see her eyes welling up at 1.13 & especially 2.03 -2.14..Just freeze frame it at 2.06 & 3.08 and see the moistening in the eyes.. And why shouldnt there be? Its an incredibly emotional and wistful song. And she feels it. So do we. And its beautiful. And so is she. And Amanda & co feel it too (1.58 & 2.30). So stuff the cynics! It's a tear jerker!
@Holsterhipshooter First of all, to see a person like her crying it supposed that it appears red nose, and her voice should tremble. She is not crying, if you see all DVD her eyes appears just like that in all her performance. I'm not saying that she is not feeling it. Of course she must because that's a performer's/singer's job and the song is of course very touching. But she is not crying.
@TheJoshy676 Yes she is very emotional - part of her true Greatness as an artist that fully empathises with her material (you can even hear the tears in the voice) and this is what separates her from the rest of the rat pack. That and the voice. And therefore her eyes do often moisten up - so do mine when I listen to some of these songs - particularly some of the acoustic sets.. But nowehere MORESO than on this great (but tragic) song
@TheJoshy676 Well I repeat - it may be an 'accessory; to you - but its a tear to me. I just name it by its REAL name to me. And the emotion is REAL too - you can see it in her face and in her eyes. And it certainly is a song to cry over. That's what music should make you do - and especially the way Simone sings this. So insulting me by calling me a fool is just insulting to the song and to her too. And pointless. But i will resist the temptation and not repay the insult. Period,
LOL! Where did you get that info, dog? Robots can't make that kind of music...unless you were Hatsune Miku or something. There's emotion, and there's a good lesson in that piece. Musicians now days forget to sing about important things in life, and this band is one of a very few. So... gosh now I can't stop laughing. Thanks a bunch too!
@Holsterhipshooter In case of any doubt, check out Memory, it has the same "tear" in the whole song too, and Sensorium, Phantom Agony too... oh she is so emotional. xD
OK - I've googled it - and it says: 'InfoDog offers an exclusive database and search engine for current and historical Dog Show information - your ultimate information guide to dog breeds, puppy training, dog training, dog health issues, and health care. From scruffy mutts to pampered pooches. Nothing about appyling glitter to dogs though. Now you've mentioned yet another breed of dog - a Tear Dog. What's one of those? Are you a 'Make it up as you go along' artist ?
Why are you obsessed with glitter? What's it got to do with glitter? Are you a glitterati? Does the info dog wear glitter? There's no info dog I can see on this video so does it appear on your 'special edition' dvd? Is it Simone's pet info dog or perhaps the info dog does the growling when Mark goes hoarse.. Did Simone put the glitter on the info dog (or the info horse) Because, surely it can't put the glitter on itself. Does the info dog (or info horse) cry?
@TheJoshy676 Nope changed me' mind again. It's conjunctivites. Her eyes do look a bit peaky ... 'So many things will never be the way they seemed - and pride will have it's fall at last ...'
It is glitter!!! I've seen the whole DVD and it appears glitter as part of her make up (she is her own make up artist) besides her eye. It is not a tear, dog! Hahahaha!
@TheJoshy676 Nobody said she was crying -and jezkn doesnt say that. That's you! Tears in the eyes -welling up -doesn't mean you're crying -just means you strongly feel the emotion. It's a very natural emotion great artists singing a powerfully emotional song which this is.You see it affecting EWVERYBODY in this performance. And this is NOT a job - like 'clocking in'. How silly..Simone doesnt do a 'job' -it's a labour of love and empathy. And NO - her eyes dont look like that in all performances
@jezkn Well... tear is supposed to be real, from emotion. Glitter is just an accessory to her outfit. I don't "call it" I just name it by it's REAL name, let me tell you as the song said "Face your negligence, do not fool your self". There's no tear, stop making a whole "famous" story about it. It is a great song, but not to cry. Period, fool.
@Caos0828 - oh you unfeeling cynic you ... is there no sentiment left in the world? At a stroke all the magic has gone out of my life ... and I am bereft.
What's an info dog? My command of English doesn't stretch to that. Is it the same as a St Bernard except that it carries info instead of brandy. If so how long will it take to reach me and how will you get it through quarantine? But as for Simone. No too late - you've thoroughly trashed her for me now. Lost interest - she leaves me cold and unmoved and a chill runs through my broken heart when ever I see her. Too late to reconvert me now after the expert assassination job you've done on her.
(Actually she's possibly right - it probably is a boring bit of glitter - or a glob of spittle from Marks grunting - it happens often you know - and romance is dead - and Simone is a singing robot incapable of emotion - but don't tell Joshy will you - let it be our little secret. O.K?. - 'cause I like to wind her up - hehe)
It's in vain to say the truth. Believe what you wish. I've seen the whole DVD a thousand times and there's no tear. I'm not saying that there's no emotion. But the truth is the truth. There's no tear. It's just a glitter. The same one in the whole DVD. Period.
@TheJoshy676 I have to disagree with you strongly on Memory. That is an upbeat song (not an Epica original and doesn't really suit her). She (and Amanda) are even smiling on the video of it and she doesn't feel it - nor is connected with it - to anything like the intensity of this performance (which is a much better song - and was 'made in her image'). You sere a lot of glitz & 'glitter' on Memory. But wer'e not talking about glitter .And it's not a sad song.. It's also pretty mediocre.
I would politely suggest it's time to back off now. You see - it's all about subtle use of the English Language. And if you cast your (tear stained) eyes back over all the comments you might detect that you may have been 'a little bit had' (to use an English idiom). And you are now making a fool of yourself before the watching world. Take my advice - don't give him more ammunition !!

Mejor imposible, melodía, letra y belleza.
Amanda understates it at the end - this is a magic performance - sends shivers down your spine - it's up there with the all time greats ...
...and Simone is deeply moved by this song and really feels it. For there is the famous tear on her cheek at 3.08. An absolute kiiller of a performance ..... Does it not move you to tears?
me encanta esta señorita, es preciosa, ojos espectaculares y ya la voz... wauu y los temas qe canta epica como grupo son de lo mejor
Hermosa canción.🤩🥰
@TheJoshy676 There ARE tears in her eyes - freeze frame it and you can see her beautiful sad eyes filling up.. This gal knows how to FEEL a song. How to LIVE it.
All that glitters .....
oh man u should really see them/her in concert it's brilliant!

(In a whisper) ..... Good job guys !!
DEBO CONFESAR QUE DERRAME UNA LAGRIMA PORQUE ME IDENTIFICO CON LA LETRA ADEMAS LA VOZ DE SIMONE ES PROFUNDA POR ESO EPICA ES MI GRUPO FAVORITO
Yeah - tears of joy !!!
@jezkn No - Jezkn I'm with you on this one. You can see her eyes welling up at 1.13 & especially 2.03 -2.14..Just freeze frame it at 2.06 & 3.08 and see the moistening in the eyes.. @jezkn ... aaaw that's saaad - brings a tear to my eye ...
Incidentally it's (wo) man
@Holsterhipshooter In case of any doubt, check out Memory, it has the same "tear" in the whole song too, and Sensorium, Phantom Agony too... oh she is so emotional. xD

@jezkn There's no tear, it's just glitter from her make up. Anyways, it is a great song.
@TheJoshy676 Nope changed me' mind again. It's conjunctivites. Her eyes do look a bit peaky ...
'So many things will never be the way they seemed - and pride will have it's fall at last ...'
@TheJoshy676 You can call it glitter from her make up if you like. I call it a tear. So we'll just have to differ! (Sob!). .
It is glitter!!! I've seen the whole DVD and it appears glitter as part of her make up (she is her own make up artist) besides her eye. It is not a tear, dog! Hahahaha!
Hahahhaha! ...Well, I'm agains to make up test on dogs too, dog!
@Holsterhipshooter whoops - can't get it right can I? ... crying shame
@TheJoshy676 Nobody said she was crying -and jezkn doesnt say that. That's you! Tears in the eyes -welling up -doesn't mean you're crying -just means you strongly feel the emotion. I'm past caring - you choose
Don't worry - you can all relax now - I've cracked it
It's a Glass Eye !! That's why it looks so shiny !
I'm confused - is it the dog, the horse or Simone that's got the glass eye?
@jezkn Well... tear is supposed to be real, from emotion. Glitter is just an accessory to her outfit. Were you arguing Simone had the glass eye or the dog ?
Are you hard on dogs in your country ?
...did you googled it for real?!? O.o
@Caos0828 - oh you unfeeling cynic you ... is there no sentiment left in the world?
At a stroke all the magic has gone out of my life ... and I am bereft.
" No te engañes a ti mismo tus defectos pronto aparecerán pues caes por tu propio peso "
Hahahahaha! No, we are very friendly to them actually. Dogs sometimes gets a little shy or timid and react like "grrrrr haufff"!
Aaah - dog in the manger was she?
What about the horse?
LOL!!!!
What's an info dog? My command of English doesn't stretch to that. Is it the same as a St Bernard except that it carries info instead of brandy. If so how long will it take to reach me and how will you get it through quarantine?

Lost interest - she leaves me cold and unmoved and a chill runs through my broken heart when ever I see her.

@Holsterhipshooter Sorry - too late man - I've become a cynic meself now. And all the magic's gone .....
I wasn't arguing ... I wanted Simone to have the tear but the 'dog lover' said she wouldn't let me
What horse? ... oh - you mean Marc's hoarse?
It's in vain to say the truth. Believe what you wish. I've seen the whole DVD a thousand times and there's no tear. I'm not saying that there's no emotion. But the truth is the truth. There's no tear. It's just a glitter. The same one in the whole DVD. Period.
She's dogged me out - now you're dogging me off. Hm!
...Ok...but tell me, do you see tear, or glitter? xD

dog eat dog I'm afraid ...
