Tim Pool fake slamming his desk in fake rage as he says "Ukraine is OUR enemy" is still one of the funniest things he's ever done, right up there with him explaining why he can't get a date with "Well I'm certainly not the problem".
I almost forgot about that! 😂 And he says it as a guy who buys into all the "high value" dating market stuff, where what has ever really mattered most is money and influence. The guy has money, the guy has a large audience... seems like there might be something about the person with the money and influence that just doesn't make the money and influence enough.

The Tenet Media situation and the Grifterverse being connected is honestly the least surprising news of 2024. Another awesome video, dude.👏🏽 Keep up the great work.
That's actually a really good point. How could the creators be victimized when their content didn't change in any way? Nobody's opinion was bought, nobody was paid to make propaganda. Right?
They took creative control of some of their platforms so that they could post directly to them. They made them post certain things like spreading Tucker.Carlson's supermarket visit that some of them didn't want to do The people the creators were working with knew. The two between the russians n the creators, They were working for the russians. Referred to them as such
@@christopherc8563 right, but the claim by the podcasters is that they _weren’t_ being directed by “Gregoriann” or Tenet Media, that they never changed their content in return for funding or at the direction of the funders. So I think it’s a good question: if they still had editorial independence and said/posted exactly what they sincerely believed, in what way are they a victim of the content-influence scheme? They got money and retained autonomy. A possible answer is “reputational harm”. But that comes from the scheme being publicized, not from the scheme. Or, the podcasters could say that in fact their content _was_ distorted by the funding or by requests from the funders, which would make them clearly victims (if they didn’t realize it at the time, or realized it but for some reason couldn’t resist) or collaborators (if they did and decided it was ok). But would require admitting they will sell their words, and not just for clearly identified ads, and/or admitting that what they said was and is untrue.

This is why I'm a big believer in the "nice opinion, did a youtuber give it to you?" motto. Don't copy any (and I mean ANY) RUclipsr just because they seem cool. Yes, even this video, if there are things that seem weird or you don't understand, don't go "oh well I'm sure it's fine" no, look into it, make up your own mind. Be a person, have an opinion, don't parrot what "those RUclipsrs" are saying, none of them, they're not you.
Also check your sources and how reliable they are. Many conservatives use "statistics" as argument points and its good to have a solid ground on your own sources. If you truly are too lazy to do your own research, keep in mind that personal experiences are also valid so long as you remember thats what they are and keep an open mind that someone else can have a different experience. Acknowledge it as part of a truth and accept that you dont know everything about that specific point...and move on. 🤷🏾♂️ in an age of lazy people and false facts...i think personal accounts can help against the dumber moments
Nothing wrong with using RUclips or RUclipsrs as a source. It's just another way to transmit information. The problem is trusting (any) information sources blindly with absolute lack of source critique. Also related, argument from false authority fallacy.
@JayMaverick It might be ok, as long as before endorsing them you correctly factcheck their claims. Which is easier if they leave sources in description. However all that is only possible if you are at least somewhat media literate, educated or at least have comprehension skills and reason. Some topics - especially historical, geopolitical and reality in other regions than your own can be as complicated as to be above the heads of majority of people in other regions - particulary US. Moscow doesn’t care that much. They don’t have to. Their Soviet counterparts at the KGB took a lot more care in subterfuge but that’s because they had to (being “The” enemy kind of forced their hand). Having a lot more sympathizers in the US than in previous decades has made their job easier. If their propaganda efforts were more closely scrutinized in the public eye, you’d see a lot more degrees of separation between the Kremlin and its mouth pieces.

This comment is mostly to feed the algorithm, but I wanna offer a small piece of wisdom that'll hopefully make things seem less hopeless (see what I did there?): Back when the printing press was first invented hundreds of years ago, there were people convinced it would bring about the end of civilization. It caused chaos and upheaval like never before (to offer a bit of a lazy example, look at the printing press' role in the protestant reformation). Nowadays mass printing is a benign fact of life, it's almost dated given how digital everything is. Massive advances in any kind of technology, but especially availability of information, causes chaos as we try to adapt to it. Our parents and grandparents lived in the "fuck around" era, and we now have to live in the "find out" era when it comes to all of this mass information and technology. What comes after it is the "now we know" era. Humanity has endured and adapted countless times before, and we will again. History repeats itself way too often, but each time it does, the world ends up a little bit better than before. Stay strong, fight our corporate and media overlords at every opportunity you can find, and we will all make it through this together.

What bugged me the most about the outrage on that show was just the sheer amount of it for a production that honestly didn't deserve that much attention. Twas mid, I don't even think it was terrible, had some fun watching it, but you're right, bad writing tanked that show. The sheer amount of media that would be called woke otherwise are never dubbed as such due to them being "good" or liked on too large a scale for them to be taken seriously for hating on it. But when they start calling that the line, that "woke" means bad and that if its not bad that means its not woke, that part pisses me off to no end

Hi, Russian here. The piece of the puzzle that you're missing is that the Kremlin did not "like what these creators are doing and decide that it aligns with their interests", it's that the Kremlin ideology is molded by them watching these creators' content in the first place. The ideology of the Russian government is directly dictated by American far-right Republicans. The "LGBT propaganda" law was written by Evangelical politicians that were invited to the Duma for this purpose. The absolutely brutal anti-trans ban that i, currently a refugee, am a victim of, was written because of libs of tiktok and the like.

An excerpt from a book I read titled Anarchism: from Bakunin to the Commons (translated from dutch): "The establishment know damn well what central privileges to defend and what tactical concessions they must make to maintain their power and authority." ... "We must try not to mistake our enemy. Plenty of what's been demanded by various dissidents, socialists, and anarchists in the past few centuries, which the establishement resisted back then, have been partially realized by now. These changes have mostly made the lives of the common people better and that's a good thing. However, as long as these changes are not institutionalized and, more importantly, become entrenched in the public's collective conscious, they can be easily reversed." The author brings this up in context of Femsoc (feminist socialism) and Eco Anarchism. While most of the quote seems a bit tangential, what the author (I think) is trying to say, is that at the end of the day, the struggle for the future of society is between the powerful elite and the oppressed majority. Out of a more egalitarian society, issues like women's rights and climate change can be adressed much more easily and definitively than bothering the people in power into throwing us a bone. Why do I bring this up: because this whole culture war bullshit is a distraction. Don't get me wrong, I try my best to be squarely on the side of inclusivity, but the fact that this is still the fight, while bigger, more systemic injustices go unadressed pisses me off. Effectlively, we're settling for less when the establishment gives a concession rather than dismantling itself. And while we're doing our best to beat back a seemingly never-ending flood of nazi rhetoric, we're blind to the fact that our bosses exploit us, the politicians who should represent us are in on the grift, cops and military are the executing branch of this oppression, and external threats are used to distract us from the injustice we face domestically. These misinformation campaigns are the establishment playing 4D chess with us. As long as we're at each other's throats, we won't lunge for theirs. Sorry for the vent, PoG. The video is very good; informative, yet able to keep my attention.
It truly does go deep. I have a morbid fascination with conservative queer content creators. Recently turned transphobic right wing trump supporter Arielle Scarcella has collaborated with Chen, Pool and Rubin. Blaire White has collaborated with Alex Jones, even though he’s millions in debt for spreading obvious slander. Begs the question, why would you want to be apart of this if it only means that those who run the operation will benefit in the end?
And I also wonder if any of those creators are still supporting Trump after he embarrassed himself on this week’s debate. If so, how? I’m genuinely curious. 😂
The idea that these grifters are hired because they already put that style of content out doesn't surprise me. I was listening to an interview with a guy that used to put out similar content talking about how he and Tommy ten names were hired about the same time by another media company to keep pumping out content. The guy interviewed said he left after visiting a refugee camp and realising they really were just desperate people escaping persecution and hardship and not invading. He also said he doesn't think Tommy doesn't believe half the stuff he's saying. Just can't remember the name of the company at the minute that hired them both. You also have to wonder how GB news, a company losing millions a year can afford to pay Farage a £million a year? Where's the money coming from? I don't know I'm just asking questions.
I believe you might be recalling the American/Israeli "Middle East Forum" think tank. It was led by Daniel Pipes and described as "fomenting anti-Muslim sentiment." The group even admitted to funding rallies in Tommy's support and paying legal costs in his appeal against his mortgage fraud prison sentence.
If your still curious, the name escapes me but munecat did a video on GB news. Its along video and it has some comedy notes to it but she highlights how GB news is funded by saudi arabian oil money (expect to see more of this as climate change gets worse)

The most telling response to this was Fox's Jesse Watters scoffingly saying "So, what, every Republican talking point is Russian propaganda?" Because... yeah.
It's interesting that Bill Gates does a similar thing. I remember a while back there was some controversy about him funding Kurzgesagt videos that pushed messages he liked. It seems the new way to create propaganda is not to hire actors, but simply support the people who believe your message. It's also interesting to see the people stuck in the middle here. People like Tucker Carlson who sell the gift without buying it.
They all do this, it is called promoted opposition. Controlled opposition involves using an agent who is aware that they are promoting disinformation / manipulating narratives in some way, promoted opposition involves providing support to people who genuinely hold the beliefs they are espousing. I have seen one person suggest Candace Owens may be promoted opposition to make people who aren't fond of Israel seem crazy, given the fact that RUclips somehow has not banned her videos. This is seems to me like a classic example of "promotion" rather than full on controlled opposition like you would see with feds on social media
He may be a rich d-head (there's no such thing as a "good billlionaire"), but Bill Gates is not part of a malevolent goverment invading its sovereign nation neighbors.
I think it's disingenuous to put Bill Gates, as much as I despise him, on the same level as RT here because of one simple question: Quo Vadis? RT's goal is destabilising political enemies of Russia. Do you believe it is Bill Gates' goal to destabilise his geopolitical enemies? Or is that more of a George Soros-kind of operation in your opinion? There may be some similarity in kind but such a gigantic difference in quality that a comparison is silly. I think the young people these days would now say: Go touch some grass.

@natbarmore They didn't change any of their content, But they allowed them the post stuff he normally wouldn't have. Back when the printing press was first invented hundreds of years ago, there were people convinced it would bring about the end of civilization.

An excerpt from a book I read titled Anarchism: from Bakunin to the Commons (translated from dutch):
"The establishment know damn well what central privileges to defend and what tactical concessions they must make to maintain their power and authority."
...
"We must try not to mistake our enemy. Plenty of what's been demanded by various dissidents, socialists, and anarchists in the past few centuries, which the establishement resisted back then, have been partially realized by now. These changes have mostly made the lives of the common people better and that's a good thing. However, as long as these changes are not institutionalized and, more importantly, become entrenched in the public's collective conscious, they can be easily reversed."
The author brings this up in context of Femsoc (feminist socialism) and Eco Anarchism.

Its along video and it has some comedy notes to it but she highlights how GB news is funded by saudi arabian oil money (expect to see more of this as climate change gets worse)

stock footage is so awesome sometimes
Hey, Russia, Star Wars woke so bad! Can I please have fifty billion dollars, now, please. I've pissed off so many of the wrong people.
Excellent work. Good job drawing the connections and justifying making them.
appreciate it 🙏
@@PillarofGarbage what are your thoughts on israel btw
I keep wondering; If you were a victim of a nefarious plot, wouldn't you want to return the money you were paid?
Congratulations Vlad, you bought Tim Pool a skateboard park
I gotta say, for people bitching about "pRoTeCtInG aMuRiCa", "cOmMuNiSm bAd" and "mAh fReDoM" they sure like the other side of the "cold war 2: electric boogaloo" -or rather dividing the people of the west and doing Russia's work for free.
I mean, as a European (Greek) I find the whole deal ridiculous and the politicians around the globe disappointing, but that's besides the point (or maybe it is the point).
Not that this knowledge will make most of *those* guys reexamine their media diet but thank you for the effort mister Pillar sir!
Keep up the great work and take care!
Maybe consider that Russia isn't communist either lmao
Καλός μαλάκας είσαι και εσύ.
Since Russia's not at all communist I don't see a contradiction in their beliefs
Just going to slide in before the smarmy well actually's about how when the government does stuff it's communism - the Russian state was literally auctioned off. That's not an exaggeration, I mean it was actually literally auctioned off at the beginning of the current regime
The most telling response to this was Fox's Jesse Watters scoffingly saying "So, what, every Republican talking point is Russian propaganda?"
Because...
Thats how propaganda has always worked in the west. You can't sencor the stuff you don't like? Just fund all the other stuff!
@@TheSorrelYep, it's much more effective and more easily excused.
I don’t care if Russia payed me to complain about how degenerate the west is I’d be singing like a choir boy
It's very ironical comment
Yes, this is what I've been saying as well. They didn't dictate the content, just kinda tried to expand its reach. All of this is as 'Americans' as apple pie. I don't know if Russia's role had much influence? Because this would be here anyway, and would have its audience. Russia is exploiting these weaknesses, but they're not generating them.
-4:26 Yeah im sorry but Soviet nostalgia is just as prominent among putins government. Imperial Russia and the Soviet Union are used interchangeably by the Russian gov in regards that Russia was a great power at that time
Right, but I’m sure you’d agree that Soviet nostalgia is grounded in the continuities between the Soviet era and the imperial era moreso than the changes?
@@PillarofGarbage I would agree
@@PillarofGarbage I would just add that putins gov members would’ve all grown up in the Soviet Union and when the union fell, Russian politics along with Soviet nostalgia would blend far and far left ideas together. It’s why you have RT fund right-wing commentators but also platform left-wing commentators as well
@@PillarofGarbage It's the authoritarianism ye.
@@guyguy7634 I don't think Russian politics blended far-right and far-left ideas, especially right after the collapse of the USSR, RT is just being opportunistic. Imo, their political alignment is whatever Kremlin says it should be

Now lets see how much money youtube is getting from Israel!
If America Bad, doesn't [blank] Good is an arguament i've seen far too much
How does that Tim Pool Ukraine rant not run afoul of sedition laws?
Thank you for making this. People need to see how this is all connected.
"Dim Tool" is a derisive name for the guy that's aged like fine wine
Nice to see Pillar of Garbage touching base with a "race kerfuffle" reference while simultaneously branching out into real world issues.
When the Nerds have to become investigative journalists you know something somewhere has gone wrong! Amazing Vid dude!
Who thought we'd miss someone talking about RT causing trouble meaning another creator at Rooster Teeth had been caught for being naughty.
"Nah, it's not colonialism if it's not done by Western European White People who did it/originally did it by boat. Otherwise, it's imperialism." /joke
Red Letter Media is a shining exception. They prefer to review slasher pics, but when they reviewed THE ACOLYTE, it was not at all about the "woke" elements and all about the failures in plot, character and structure.... which are the actual issues with the series.
RLM is one of only about 5 media criticism channels that actually have a clue what they're talking about, and I treasure every one of those channels.
She was just telling the truth
Comment to please the algorithm.
Lauren Chen , The Half-Chinese Canadian who lives in America and repeats the talking points of Russia.
you can't seriously believe Tim pool's anti ukraine views was something he arrived at himself, especially when he does a 180 after being exposed. He called Ukraine the enemy because the Russians told him to.
While I agree Pool is not to be believed, he has a history of tweeting wildly conflicting statements in order to confuse journalists, this is covered in the Some More News episode on him. Honestly, I think it’s so whenever a journalist tries to use his words to demonstrate his views, Pool can say, “you fell for the joke, I tweet so many jokes.”
In the same way RT’s line is anything that causes chaos, I think Pool’s recent support of Ukraine is a desperate monkey wrench trying to make any honest discussion of him difficult.
At this point Pilliar of Garbage is the only reliable news source I pay attention to. I hadn't even heard of this scandal until now, thank you for your work king.
such a well done video, commenting for the algorithm, because this needs to be seen by more people
Great job covering this man, most people didn't realize how much their opinions are being played with by these darn greedy grubby grifters
You probably formatted the thumbnail to avoid the plagiarism allegation. But i did indeed read it as "Russia and You(tube)" 😅
It was blatant there was a dedicated campaign targeting any new Star Wars, MCU & X-Men, LotR, etc. for several years now by grifters. And 'more responsible' media outlet have been only too happy to release lazy clickbait articles about "fan outrage". I've been hitting 'Do not recommend channel' on all these and RUclips just keeps filling my feed with them anyway if I try searching for news on any franchise. They need a permanent block button.
Its nice to have them self identify who to ignore
Then why have new project from the franchise you just mentioned been generally pretty bad?🤨 we don’t target things because their full of diverse representation, if we did that, the expanse, WHICH IS A PRETTY PHENOMENAL TV SHOW, would also be targeted, ruclips.net/video/RWtbI4t7cOc/видео.htmlsi=NI1cWlksv82h9b54 hers prove that we don’t target all media with a diverse cast
Gotta love youtube promoting all the anti woke russian channels as nerd culture now
...What is the appropriate compensation for being the victim of being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, anyway?
right wing content creators claiming to be anti establishment when they are getting money from a government shows their integrity.
i am currently editing a little skit that i made on the origin of the grifterverse, characters include daily wire, CD & more. i'm just lazy & need to film one last scene of russia showing up to the meeting looking for tim pool... anyway keep up the good work!
Thanks for bringing attention to this!
"something something capitalism bad" in a bad Russian accent is just.... Chef's kiss
The algorithm demands a comment for engagement, so here is mine.
I'll feed it, too.
The Russian Propaganda is coming from Inside the Grift
RUclips deleted Chen's content for the same reason Blaze did. To hide evidence.
The weird thing is, RT also put out left-wing (albeit edgy) content and I used to enjoy Redacted Tonight a lot.
It's been almost a decade since I paid attention to them regularly, but back then their only appeal for any of the left was providing "America bad" red meat for contrarians.
They were some of the news groups to cover occupy with any journalistic integrity, al-jazeera as well.
This is also for engagement
I hate it when I'm right...
Credit to the hard work of proving what my intuition could only begin to guess at.
Also probably pulling my viewing from YT soon. This doesn't happen on Nebula.
Life is definitely got better once I stopped watching nerdrotic and adjacent content.
Honestly, same.
RUclips put an ad for one of those tenet grifters on this show.
This is not a joke.
