I love it that she doesn't go crazy with her spin like most of the skaters. She is more on her moves, dancing....telling us a story like a ballerina on ice.
I believe this is Oksana's most hauntingly unforgettable artistic performance ever. Every motion & movement of her body is as smooth as honey rippling onto a silver platter--truly incomparable. Oksana is one with the music; her interpretation flawless, even her garment is impeccable.

Oksana Baiul's performances are captivating.my opinion on this I just think Oksana is a better artist than Nancy in that Oksana puts her heart into it!!
I recorded this the night it aired on VHS. Then proceeded to watch it at least eleventy billion times. This performance literally has an imprint on my whole existence.
So far, with my very limited knowledge of ice skating, Oksana Baiul is far better than other ice skaters. She is basically dancing on ice. Looking at her, you forget all the technical stuff and the things she will be judged on by the jury and you lose yourself in her moves and in the music.
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT, a joy to watch. There is no contest, I also watched Kerrigan's...and Oksana was over and above anything that Kerrigan could ever do. The gracefulness, the 'smooth' jumps, just everything. Yes, she is 'THE GOLD'!
Oksana is seriously the best figure skater. She has it all. The talent, the looks, the passion. Nancy kerrigan looks like a beginner any time she goes up against her
Thanks for posting. I remember seeing this on TV. What made Oksana exquisite were her toepick movements-attributable to her ballet training, and not easy to do on ice. The fact that she was able to transfer that skill onto ice, was superb.
@@MTknitter22 You're welcome. As in Ballet, your weight should completely be on your big toe, and you could only hold that position for a second. Although most(?) skaters take Ballet, unfortunately it's not utilized as much. Check out her "The Feeling Begins" by Peter Grabriel program. Stunning!

The peerless & incomparable Oksana Baiul. She certainly enjoyed skating to Christian-themed music the chanting by the monks was quite an unusual but quite contemporary they way it was done.
Oksana's artistic performance is in it's own level. Kerrigan was better if considered in pure technical terms. But this Oksanas is just... WOW. (Biased as I'm a huge Enigma fan, but still..)

This took place in Memphis & not to denigrate any of the skaters, but this was not really a competition. The live audience had to stay behind for 3 hours while the skaters had to go back & do retakes to correct mistakes. It wasn’t much fun to watch on tv after knowing that.
this is kinda boring, she's too stiff, and her jumps had no flow edge to it, like michelle kwan. im sorry michelle kwan is the best skater int he world
