Makes me mad that they are suggesting that her children's upbringing was right and beating your children would be good for them! There is no justification for that! I completely agree with Katherine Jackson about the world going too soft and too much shit for children to do. We see it now more than ever. I got whooped when I misbehaved...sometimes even for one bad grade. It was not at all often, but it happened. I completely understand; but whooping your child for missing a step or forgetting/singing a song wrong, that is abuse. Stripping your child nude, oiling them down, and striking them until they can no longer even stand up- that is abuse. Not allowing your child to call you daddy or dad, that is emotional abuse.
LaToya and Rebbie Jackson were even sexually abused by their father. Granted, LaToya was in abusive relationship and may have been coerced to make such a statement, but who knows?

Even the other kids said it was mostly strict discipline not pure abuse . I brought up black households because generations before us and still continuing being passed down til this day is Strict discipline in the form of physical contact or whipping. What separates it from pure abuse is that the parent has a reason for whopping you so therefore as a kid you could learn from it. In my country Philippines, whipping is still normal to discipline kids. And that is how we also grew up. We grew up to be obedient and respectful. I can see in my nephews that they will grow to be the same. Nothing is wrong with whipping as long as it is not crossing the line.
