Those turned out beautifully!! The patterns are stunning, and so are the colours!! It’s fun checking out a different way of polishing. I find it so satisfying to watch the process
Loved seeing the whole process... Turned out great! And I see you're creeping on 2500 subs... Going to hit that 3k in no time! Keep on rockin on! Cheers Jason✨
@@RockhoundingLife for me it’s that I have no space in my tiny apartment. When I move to a bigger place this year I might invest in a diamond tech flat lap!
I wonder if you would have got better action and quicker results if you had thinner bumpers. Maybe stretch a layer of two of bicycle inner tube over the rocks.
I was hoping to see how you would weight slabs for polishing. I have a large Rociprolap and can't seem to keep weights on the rocks. I've tried water glass and a glue gun to no avail. Any ideas?
Hi Ken, How I do it is I use molding clay or play doh and mold it into a flat shape onto the rock you are polishing. If the play doh doesn't provide enough weight you can stick another rock or small weight on top of the play doh. The play doh holds everything together. I've tried this a couple of times and it works well. If you have an odd shaped rock you have to get creative with it. Hope that helps!
Rocks aren't like bread you can just slice like bread. Study the outside draw lines with a sharpie and cut it up like you're a surgeon getting the best out of your stones. The equipment works great way beyond clocks and bookends with your material.
Hello Sir i want to buy your petrified wood if i could and how much it will cost me to shift to California i want to know i want to start a collection lol 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Wow, those are just SO cool looking!
That was the first time I saw the flat lap polishing technique. Thank you. I have been researching before I buy any equipment! Very helpful 🙏🏼
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for showing the complete process on a vibralap👍 Beautiful specimens
Thank you for watching!

Thanks so much! 😊
I really love the colour of those cycads!
Yeah they are addictive almost!
Rock bumper cars! Haha! Well done!
I know right! Thanks bro!

Thanks M! 2.5K is so awesome! I never thought we would get there in under a year!
Awesome video Jason, thanks for sharing the video, great tutorial !!!
Really cool process, I love this concept of polishing considering I didn't know about it until your channel. So cool, they turned out awesome.
It's my favorite machine to use right now!
@@RockhoundingLife It works great!

Thank you! Cheers!
Gosh that is such beautiful material
It's my fav! Send me your mailing address in an Instagram message.
Hello RL, great petrified wood! They're beautiful! Nice demo on the vibratory flat lap. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful specimens!
Thank you kindly!
Very nice! Wish I had any sort of flat lap.
Apparently these are not that hard to make at home. See a coupe of videos of people showing how they do it.

You have been busy.😎just an idea, how about wrapping the rocks sides with some big rubber bands.😇
That's a good idea. I would probably need a lot of rubber bands but it would still likely save space. Thanks for the idea!!
Nice work. I wonder if a final hand polish on the rotary flat lap would improve the shine?
Great suggestion!
👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏There is a great desire to buy such a toy, but there is no such opportunity to buy it...😢
I've seen people build them. It's actually not that hard.
@@RockhoundingLife Thank you friend! I will figure out what to assemble from. I found a lot of similar devices on RUclips. Something will work out!
Nice job! Could you tell me what the rubber black rings are? Kind of look like something used to join the top and bottom of a toilet.
They are just rubber gaskets. A bit overkill as they were a bit big. Next time I will use something smaller.
so is it more pratical to use this or a flat lap?
Cycads 💗
Do you have a water dripper going during the polishing stage?
No. Every couple of hours I will add a a bit of water. Just a splash. The slurry stays consistent with the pad and doesn't dry out.
@@RockhoundingLife awesome thanks 👍

Possibly. Another viewer suggested elastic bands. I'm going to toy with it further and will make an update video.
Just figured it would give the rocks more room to vibrate. Can't wait to see your update.
What are those black rubber rings, and where do you get them?
The are just rubber gaskets I had lying around at work. You can also use PVC pipe from your local hardware store

@@RockhoundingLife Thanks for the idea. I also thought that rock dop may work.
Awesome video... May I share it?
Thanks! And yes you can absolutely share it!

What is the big saw?
At the time of this video it was a 14" drop cut saw. Now its a 24" highland park slab saw
I thought they turned out great.
Thank you my friend!
use a brick of your blade to sharpen your blade
I ping my blades to sharpen them. The brick method i feel is a myth, or at least it doesnt work fir me
