This is a great film. Fascinating look into these young people's lives. They are so different from mainstream modern society, yet just like the rest of us. Some of match makers are impressive in their ability to network without modern technology.

February, 2019 .....I stopped the video - to return anon - to make this note / comment..... I have always had an interest in other religions. ( I'm Catholic - But a Sammy, Who knew ? ), and for years; I've been fascinated with the (mystery ) of Hassidim and Hassidic life. Like Crown Heights or Boro Park, there is an insular island of life that is contained within a few city blocks. Where Yiddish / Hebrew is the dominant language, and posters are seen, asking for dress to be modest in nature....Fascinating...So many questions, so much to learn, without knowing - outside of the 'Net - where to get reasonable answers. So, having heard about Hassidic marriages and the methods used to ''make a match'', I came across this video. And, I'll watch all the parts !!..... I see so much pragmatism, realities employed - Yet willing to give up the one thing to be attained, LOVE....The hope being that Love, that magical connection; will be built into the marriage, after the vows are done. Questions about who the bread winner will be - Will one or both work ? How can any union hope to survive, without alleviating the stress of the requirement to have a roof over their head and food on the table ? I understand the import of study, and having a religious household, But; the reality is there is only 24 hours in a day; and time needs to be invested in your partner. That gave me pause, To find time to earn, study and build with their partner. and my reality suggests that there MUST be priorities. And that reality, it seems; is not shared by some / many in the video...... EDIT : What a Fascinating video ! Absolutely right! It’s not like regular dating. Typically people don’t have such intense conversations on the first few dates because secular people may not necessarily be looking to date someone with the intent of marriage. If you’re just dating to have some fun those types of tough conversations are not important. In the ultra orthodox community they’re only meant to have a few meetings to decide whether or not they’re suited to each other so they have to make the most of it and the intent is marriage and to raise a family not a casual fling so they have to ask deep questions. I personally find the ultra orthodox community to be to closed up. Some don’t have access to the internet or TV and the men study Torah all day while the women are expected to be the bread winners. You need to have a balance between the secular world and the Jewish world. Having said that though the fact that they ask such intense questions early on in the dating process means that they aren’t wasting time with people who don’t have the same values as them. It’s like my sister’s boyfriend. They’ve been together for almost 5 years now. He’s not interested in marriage or children. He’s just happy to be as they are. I think she does want to get married and have children. Maybe if they had that conversation earlier she wouldn’t waste her time with him.
Are you serious? Many American people date with a purpose and ask these questions upfront. Jeez, this silly idea that Americans are so removed from virtue and faith is beyond me. It's perpetuated by TV and not representative of most Americans who still are a "religious" bunch so to speak compared to many Western countries.
The girl that was married before has the makings of an excellent wife and life partner. Assuming she doesn't marry an idiot, she will do well. Also, I'm proud of that girl that said she doesn't want to bring up her kids with television and mainstream media. Moses crossing the sea was considered as a seal for the new America.We have much in common with them. Early American society was similar in some ways to orthodox jews now.
Yehezkel has amazing depth for someone his age and I love how he thinks. He definitely needs someone sophisticated otherwise he will suffer from loneliness for the rest of his life and simply just 'coexist' in the marriage enough to save face. This was so eye-opening. I can't imagine marrying someone after a couple short meetings.... unless it's "the one." I find this interesting and things I've asked on dates also. I never liked wasting time just for fun. Dating should be with a purpose. The idea of the man not working though is a no go for me. He needs to help provide or wait until he's finished his studies.
The Jewish matchmakers are so cool. They're very honest and straightforward and don't give people unrealistic expectations. Very different from a lot of (in my country) American matchmakers and dating websites which are very over-romanticizing and not the most practical. Not like I'm looking to get married, but I think you should know what you're getting yourself into.

Even secular men tend to do this; it just looks a bit different. They are so sure of themselves and what they're after that they will bounce from woman to woman for years playing on ego because they dont have a true appreciation for any of them. This is a human problem, not a religious one.
There's a huge difference between confidence vs. chasing shallow (and unlasting) characteristics in girls due to childish expectations. Especially when a guy isn't a world-class stunner himself and those girls don't appreciate being consistently objectified in that way. A mature and responsible guy who has correctly-placed confidence in his abilities and character is a far cry from a young guy inexperienced in things that really matter, who's too (undeservedly) full of himself to see the value in character investment. Same thing applies to women of equally sub-par and shallow character. Religious or not, a person with too much ego and not enough understanding of value will end up ruining themselves and their family eventually.

It's refreshing to see "Haredi" jews who are not Hassidim from the 17th century. The men are sensitive and even work, sometimes. The women are studying law. I can see a match by now. Have you seen the Netflix series "Shistel" about a Hassidic family in Jeruselem. It's a mix between Fiddler on the Roof and The Bold and the Beautiful. Seriously, the secular actors had to learn yiddish and haredi life. It's a fictional soap opera but it captures the ritual of mating superbly and has many characters who are "different" from the rest of the community. Fabulous.
I love "Shistel" and have watched it a few times. My grandparents from the Old Country had a matchmade marriage, and I often asked my grandmother about the love part. She said, "You will learn to love him," and I found that interesting. I married a non-Jew, by the way.

Same here! I come from a Sephardic family and for me these documentaries have been the best I have ever watched! I have learned a lot! Very intriguing and interesing. Best documentary format ever too. It feels like you're right there just watching.

It's nice to see such nice respectable young men, getting ready to settle down and meet a nice girl, and commit to a good .marriage. I'm not Jewish but I have a lot of respect for these people. It takes a lot of courage in this day to live your values, when no one else shares them, and there is so much prejudice against morality. Looking at the comments it's rather sad. If this was a video about young men turning into women, and then looking for a nice girl to settle down with, the comments would be full of compliments for their bravery. It's sad to me because everyone should be able to choose their lifestyle. Everyone means everyone. Not just lifestyles that are new, and cutting edge and get applause. The couple decides what to do; the matchmakers only help guide them along the way, and they are hired to do it. If the couple doesnt like a matchmaker, they fire them. They dont have a ton of power because they can only match a person with suitors who are looking for their qualities.
This is really interesting. I'm a secular Jew and it's really hard to find a Jewish guy; either the Jewish guys go for the orthodox girls or the non-Jewish girls. I wish there was a matchmaking service for non-orthodox Jews. I thought it would be really easy for orthodox Jews to find a partner, but it shows that dating is hard even for religious people. I can't believe that some of the people in the documentary have been looking for years. Makes me feel a bit better that dating isn't so easy for everyone. It's so hard to find the right guy. I'm 27 and have been looking for years and still haven't come close. The guys I like aren't interested in anything serious and vice versa. It's hard. I hope that everything happens for a reason and that God will send me the right guy.
Well, you can try jdate (you probably have already). As for secular jews who want to date secular jews (I assume you live in the USA), that's a hard one, because ALOT of secular jews end up marrying non-jews, and I think more secular women are interested in [exclusively] dating secular jewish men, while the secular jewish men don't seem to care much.

They are now both Israeli. Ashkenazi trace their roots from Eastern Europe, and they are more fair skinned than the Sephardic, who are from more Mediterranean lands. Having been separate for generations, some of their practices are different, but not significant.
The truth is that even in the West, a man or woman meets maybe 100-150 eligible mates in their lifetime, and picks from that. IN the US alone, that means there probably are 100, 000 or more "more perfect matches" than the ones chosen. The whole concept of a "perfect match" is pretty much nonsense.

They are Jews from parts of the world that have different Traditions. It would make a big difference in their marriage because they have learned two completely different ways of doing things and would basically have to relearn everything they do in order to make a match. It's not really a racial thing although that's how they translated it. It's more of a culture difference. A lot of Jews will prefer to marry within their current culture because it makes less headache for the couple trying to agree on daily life things. Conservative Jews are much less observant and don't keep many Traditions, Sephardic Jews and Ashkenazi Jews are both Orthodox, but they have different views on certain things that are hard to reconcile if you had to actually live together. They have great respect for one another, but it's difficult to marry into the other one, if that makes sense
The thing is, Orthodox Jews tend to live in concentrated communities, so a person's ethnicity tells them a lot about their upbringing and traditions. So a person from Morocco like that one guy may have a hard time dating a white girl from Poland, not because of her skin color alone, but because that tells him a lot about her the cultural complications they may have if they were to get married.

.What I don’t understand is that they have such a ritualistic life and deep belief in the Torah, but they smoke. They don’t eat pork, or certain ocean life, but they smoke. How is that treating your body like a temple when they knowingly poison it with filth? One does not extract God’s words from His book to suit their life. And God himself has also said not to be repetitive in prayer, and yet they are repetitive in so many ways. What’s with the spoken Words before eating, without reverence. No one else bowed their heads, they just continued making their sandwich. I find that so much of their lives are all about the Torah this, the Torah that, that they get caught up in the rituals that somehow seem to have no meaning any more.

As for many religions, especially with origins in the Middle East a woman needs to cover her own head and hair for modesty once she gets married. Her own hair are no one else's business but her husband. You either wear a headscarf or... a wig! Better sporting around other women's hair rather than letting the world see your own. Well, I guess that after a lifetime of head covering and 14 pregnancies a wig made with hair from a 20ish girl looks much better than your own hair, but we'll never know and I honestly don't care.
Worldwide, the vast majority of people want to marry someone who is of the same ethnic heritage as themselves. It's just familiarity, safety, the feeling of appropriateness. It's not something most people will admit to, but marrying someone the same as yourself is also what people do because they want their children to also be the same. Humans are tribal. It's not rational, it's just something people feel in their gut. The more traditional communities are just more open about admitting it.
The two major groups of Jews are Ashkenazi (Eastern European backgrounds) and Sephardi (Morroccan, Spanish, Middle Eastern backgrounds). Each group comes with their own very different customs built upon the original Jewish laws and in Orthodox Jewish law, once a custom has been practiced for a certain number of years (I believe it's 100 but am not sure), these customs are considered law. So each group has different prayers, their kashrut laws differ (slightly), practice certain holidays a bit differently...etc. Likewise, in general (and this is a broad statement that obviously has exceptions) Sephardim are considered more spiritual and Ashkenazim are seen as more halachically based. So the attitudes of both parties towards the practice of Judaism can be worlds apart. While everyone has their own preferences, some people prefer to marry someone with similar customs to them because once married, a woman takes on the customs of her husband. So to start anew with completely unfamiliar customs can be a difficult adjustment for some, I imagine.
when you marry someone of your own age-group and background, you lessen the odds of dissatisfaction down the line. You cant simply rely on something like hormones and attraction
Yes there is something good and sensible about this approach. The western secular world has messed up a good thing with all the nonsence about free sex and individual entitlement. But I am not so impressed with the attitudes conveyed in some of the questions...
It's not as though secular dating produces better results. Lots of Partners over a number of years, kids whose dads aren't in your life to take care of them, over half of all marriages ending in divorce... in Orthodox communities the divorce rate is like less than one in ten. So they're apparently doing something right. More people need to take a practical look at it like this rather than just flinging themselves aimlessly in to every relationship with a cute looking person and hoping that it sticks.
LifeIsWhatYouMakeIt but are the marriages happy? You don’t want to get a divorce in that community, for, as you see here, it’s a stigma and stumbling block if you want to get married again.
If Meray left her Orthodox community, and dated outsiders, shed be a hot item. A young, slender attractive 24 year old law student, with no children she'd have literally hundreds of men begging for her. Only in this community is she viewed as "damaged goods". As if women are products, not people.
God never said a woman should not have her own opinions. I would be too opinionated for many Orthodox men. I know my mind and there isn't much to sway that. But I am also kind compassionate loving Etc. Probably my first Hobby and passion is cooking when I was married I loved to be a wife but he loved to beat his wife. not so apart from the subject of this video, I find it disturbing how Jewish married women refuse to wear their hair uncovered, but they cover it with....a wig! which is in fact, in appearance, their hair. so. they want to look as if they have their hair uncovered, but at the same time, they can put in front this excuse that, their hair is covered (with a wig!). it looks just the same! so, if hair is considered erotic, ans sexual, what is a wig? a wig is not hair? oh, it is someone else's hair! but it looks just as erotic. what is the difference?! what is the point? me, as an outsider woman, I see only this wish to pretend things that are not./ why they do not have their hair uncovered, since they wish so bad to look as if they had it uncovered?! in all this, I only get the verb: PRETEND! but who's fooling who? Jesus blamed this kind of law while with us, and even He was among Jews, who studies Bible SO hard, they could not recognize their and our Messiah! why? their hearts......are stuck, somewhere. they need to be cut round their hearts, and love God, not study the Word just for science, and then fail in really understanding it. I also listened to a story of a young girl, who used to make cleaning in Jews's houses. she was very young and educated, and talked really nice, but she could not hide the fact that, for the money she received for her services, Jew families, especially women, treated her like...slave! especially ugly talking and yelling, till she left 9 out of 10 families, in TEARS! I kept thinking: the bible says God made covenant with Jews, and He punished them like Father for all their wrong doings (many of which so wrong, that they got tremendous punishments). But were they learning anything from it? They remember to "love thy neighbor like yourself"? (which is one the major commandments). I feel that with every generation they still get it wrong. And God is so good, that He said: "ask, and you shall be given". it could be so easy for all of us, to just ask for new hearts, love of thy neighbor, and wisdom, and the world would be a better place. The prenise of your question is incorrect. The hair isn't covered because it is erotic or sexual. If it was, single girls would cover their hair as well. The hair covering is a sign of dignity and the stature of a married woman. She doesn't go out without a haircovering in the way that the Queen doesn't go out without her crown.

Few generations ago, in my country, as well in many others, married women did wear their head covered, with a scarf. only unmarried women wore their hair loose, or in braids the majority of them. but the Bible says no such thing, it was a custom from the church, (Bible says that in church, women should cover heads, in the presence of God), which they took also in everyday life. So, I consider, there is no blame from the Bible to wear uncovered hair (except when going to church) as a married woman. what I consider disturbing is that Jewish married women, think that their hair is covered, wearing wigs. this is wrong. who am I to blame, after all....we all are sinners. we all are faulty nowadays, when even in church women do not cover their hair anymore. it seems like everyone went crazy with hedonism and narcissism. it is a good thing that we can learn from each other, and choose the good things we see, and not the bad ones. Judaism derives from this that the proper dignified manner for married woman in public is to have her head covered. Although modern wigs look very much like real hair to the uninitiated, Orthodox Jewish women can tell it is wig with a glance.

February, 2019 .....I stopped the video - to return anon - to make this note / comment..... I have always had an interest in other religions. ( I'm Catholic - But a Sammy, Who knew ? ), and for years; I've been fascinated with the (mystery ) of Hassidim and Hassidic life. Like Crown Heights or Boro Park, there is an insular island of life that is contained within a few city blocks. Where Yiddish / Hebrew is the dominant language, and posters are seen, asking for dress to be modest in nature....Fascinating...So many questions, so much to learn, without knowing - outside of the 'Net - where to get reasonable answers.
So, having heard about Hassidic marriages and the methods used to ''make a match'', I came across this video. And, I'll watch all the parts !!..... I see so much pragmatism, realities employed - Yet willing to give up the one thing to be attained, LOVE....The hope being that Love, that magical connection; will be built into the marriage, after the vows are done.
Questions about who the bread winner will be - Will one or both work ? How can any union hope to survive, without alleviating the stress of the requirement to have a roof over their head and food on the table ?
I understand the import of study, and having a religious household, But; the reality is there is only 24 hours in a day; and time needs to be invested in your partner. That gave me pause, To find time to earn, study and build with their partner. and my reality suggests that there MUST be priorities. And that reality, it seems; is not shared by some / many in the video...... EDIT : What a Fascinating video ! Amazing to be be allowed into their homes, to hear them sharing their thoughts.

Understandably so. If I was dating with the internet of. a husband, I'd ask everything uncomfortable. Marriage after a couple of dates you can bet they would be uncomfortable.
Absolutely right! It’s not like regular dating. Typically people don’t have such intense conversations on the first few dates because secular people may not necessarily be looking to date someone with the intent of marriage. If you’re just dating to have some fun those types of tough conversations are not important.
In the ultra orthodox community they’re only meant to have a few meetings to decide whether or not they’re suited to each other so they have to make the most of it and the intent is marriage and to raise a family not a casual fling so they have to ask deep questions.
I personally find the ultra orthodox community to be to closed up. Some don’t have access to the internet or TV and the men study Torah all day while the women are expected to be the bread winners. You need to have a balance between the secular world and the Jewish world. Having said that though the fact that they ask such intense questions early on in the dating process means that they aren’t wasting time with people who don’t have the same values as them.
It’s like my sister’s boyfriend. They’ve been together for almost 5 years now. He’s not interested in marriage or children. He’s just happy to be as they are. I think she does want to get married and have children. Maybe if they had that conversation earlier she wouldn’t waste her time with him.

This was so eye-opening. I can't imagine marrying someone after a couple short meetings.... unless it's "the one." I find this interesting and things I've asked on dates also. I never liked wasting time just for fun. Dating should be with a purpose. The idea of the man not working though is a no go for me. He needs to help provide or wait until he's finished his studies.
The Jewish matchmakers are so cool. They're very honest and straightforward and don't give people unrealistic expectations. Very different from a lot of (in my country) American matchmakers and dating websites which are very over-romanticizing and not the most practical.

Even secular men tend to do this; it just looks a bit different. They are so sure of themselves and what they're after that they will bounce from woman to woman for years playing on ego because they dont have a true appreciation for any of them. This is a human problem, not a religious one.
I had to break it to you, but women like confident men.
There's a huge difference between confidence vs. chasing shallow (and unlasting) characteristics in girls due to childish expectations. Especially when a guy isn't a world-class stunner himself and those girls don't appreciate being consistently objectified in that way.
A mature and responsible guy who has correctly-placed confidence in his abilities and character is a far cry from a young guy inexperienced in things that really matter, who's too (undeservedly) full of himself to see the value in character investment.
Same thing applies to women of equally sub-par and shallow character. Religious or not, a person with too much ego and not enough understanding of value will end up ruining themselves and their family eventually.

It's refreshing to see "Haredi" jews who are not Hassidim from the 17th century. The men are sensitive and even work, sometimes. The women are studying law. I can see a match by now. Have you seen the Netflix series "Shistel" about a Hassidic family in Jeruselem. It's a mix between Fiddler on the Roof and The Bold and the Beautiful. Seriously, the secular actors had to learn yiddish and haredi life. It's a fictional soap opera but it captures the ritual of mating superbly and has many characters who are "different" from the rest of the community. Fabulous.
I love "Shistel" and have watched it a few times. My grandparents from the Old Country had a matchmade marriage, and I often asked my grandmother about the love part. She said, "You will learn to love him," and I found that interesting. I married a non-Jew, by the way.

It takes a lot of courage in this day to live your values, when no one else shares them, and there is so much prejudice against morality. Looking at the comments it's rather sad. If this was a video about young men turning into women, and then looking for a nice girl to settle down with, the comments would be full of compliments for their bravery. The couple decides what to do; the matchmakers only help guide them along the way, and they are hired to do it. If the couple doesnt like a matchmaker, they fire them. They dont have a ton of power because they can only match a person with suitors who are looking for their qualities.
This is really interesting. I'm a secular Jew and it's really hard to find a Jewish guy; either the Jewish guys go for the orthodox girls or the non-Jewish girls. I wish there was a matchmaking service for non-orthodox Jews. I thought it would be really easy for orthodox Jews to find a partner, but it shows that dating is hard even for religious people. I can't believe that some of the people in the documentary have been looking for years. Makes me feel a bit better that dating isn't so easy for everyone. It's so hard to find the right guy. I'm 27 and have been looking for years and still haven't come close. The guys I like aren't interested in anything serious and vice versa. It's hard. I hope that everything happens for a reason and that God will send me the right guy.

As for secular jews who want to date secular jews (I assume you live in the USA), that's a hard one, because ALOT of secular jews end up marrying non-jews, and I think more secular women are interested in [exclusively] dating secular jewish men, while the secular jewish men don't seem to care much.

They are now both Israeli. Ashkenazi trace their roots from Eastern Europe, and they are more fair skinned than the Sephardic, who are from more Mediterranean lands. Having been separate for generations, some of their practices are different, but not significant.
The truth is that even in the West, a man or woman meets maybe 100-150 eligible mates in their lifetime, and picks from that. IN the US alone, that means there probably are 100, 000 or more "more perfect matches" than the ones chosen. The whole concept of a "perfect match" is pretty much nonsense.
Listening to this makes me think that there are hardly any differences with the arabs so they should settle down and live together and the world would be a better (quieter) place

They are Jews from parts of the world that have different Traditions. It would make a big difference in their marriage because they have learned two completely different ways of doing things and would basically have to relearn everything they do in order to make a match. It's not really a racial thing although that's how they translated it. It's more of a culture difference. A lot of Jews will prefer to marry within their current culture because it makes less headache for the couple trying to agree on daily life things. Conservative Jews are much less observant and don't keep many Traditions, Sephardic Jews and Ashkenazi Jews are both Orthodox, but they have different views on certain things that are hard to reconcile if you had to actually live together. They have great respect for one another, but it's difficult to marry into the other one, if that makes sense
The thing is, Orthodox Jews tend to live in concentrated communities, so a person's ethnicity tells them a lot about their upbringing and traditions. So a person from Morocco like that one guy may have a hard time dating a white girl from Poland, not because of her skin color alone, but because that tells him a lot about her the cultural complications they may have if they were to get married.

As for many religions, especially with origins in the Middle East a woman needs to cover her own head and hair for modesty once she gets married. Her own hair are no one else's business but her husband. You either wear a headscarf or... a wig! Better sporting around other women's hair rather than letting the world see your own.

Worldwide, the vast majority of people want to marry someone who is of the same ethnic heritage as themselves. It's just familiarity, safety, the feeling of appropriateness. It's not something most people will admit to, but marrying someone the same as yourself is also what people do because they want their children to also be the same. Humans are tribal. It's not rational, it's just something people feel in their gut. The more traditional communities are just more open about admitting it.
The two major groups of Jews are Ashkenazi (Eastern European backgrounds) and Sephardi (Morroccan, Spanish, Middle Eastern backgrounds). Each group comes with their own very different customs built upon the original Jewish laws and in Orthodox Jewish law, once a custom has been practiced for a certain number of years (I believe it's 100 but am not sure), these customs are considered law. So each group has different prayers, their kashrut laws differ (slightly), practice certain holidays a bit differently...etc. Likewise, in general (and this is a broad statement that obviously has exceptions) Sephardim are considered more spiritual and Ashkenazim are seen as more halachically based. So the attitudes of both parties towards the practice of Judaism can be worlds apart. While everyone has their own preferences, some people prefer to marry someone with similar customs to them because once married, a woman takes on the customs of her husband. So to start anew with completely unfamiliar customs can be a difficult adjustment for some, I imagine.

It's not as though secular dating produces better results. Lots of Partners over a number of years, kids whose dads aren't in your life to take care of them, over half of all marriages ending in divorce... in Orthodox communities the divorce rate is like less than one in ten. So they're apparently doing something right. More people need to take a practical look at it like this rather than just flinging themselves aimlessly in to every relationship with a cute looking person and hoping that it sticks.
LifeIsWhatYouMakeIt but are the marriages happy? You don’t want to get a divorce in that community, for, as you see here, it’s a stigma and stumbling block if you want to get married again.

I dislike this video, only because if you’re a foreign language, I am blind and cannot see the video, and there are no English translation. This is totally in accessible. What a disappointment.
not so apart from the subject of this video, I find it disturbing how Jewish married women refuse to wear their hair uncovered, but they cover it with....a wig! which is in fact, in appearance, their hair. so. they want to look as if they have their hair uncovered, but at the same time, they can put in front this excuse that, their hair is covered (with a wig!). it looks just the same! so, if hair is considered erotic, ans sexual, what is a wig? a wig is not hair? oh, it is someone else's hair! but it looks just as erotic. what is the difference?! what is the point? me, as an outsider woman, I see only this wish to pretend things that are not./ why they do not have their hair uncovered, since they wish so bad to look as if they had it uncovered?! in all this, I only get the verb: PRETEND! but who's fooling who? God we cannot fool, He sees in our hearts so well! the Bible only says that women should have hair covered when praying in churches. who invented this custom, that anyway got ....messed up the way people wish, anyway. and if hair is considered sexual, does not every inch of our bodies? should we hide our skin, and wear black, and only have eyes uncovered. did God wanted us, women, to be miserable? to get sick (for those women out in the world whose skin NEVER sees sunshine!)? I think not. Are we animals, like seeing a woman's hair gets men sexually ....something? if yes, then that person might have a problem, and would invent all kind of excuses for his ....too sexualized MIND. it's all in the mind, in the end. where the fight between right and wrong is given. but this is "law of men", and not of God, which is only meant to make people feel it's so hard to fallow God. Jesus blamed this kind of law while with us, and even He was among Jews, who studies Bible SO hard, they could not recognize their and our Messiah! why? their hearts......are stuck, somewhere. they need to be cut round their hearts, and love God, not study the Word just for science, and then fail in really understanding it.
I also listened to a story of a young girl, who used to make cleaning in Jews's houses. she was very young and educated, and talked really nice, but she could not hide the fact that, for the money she received for her services, Jew families, especially women, treated her like...slave! especially ugly talking and yelling, till she left 9 out of 10 families, in TEARS! I kept thinking: the bible says God made covenant with Jews, and He punished them like Father for all their wrong doings (many of which so wrong, that they got tremendous punishments). But were they learning anything from it? They remember to "love thy neighbor like yourself"? (which is one the major commandments). I feel that with every generation they still get it wrong. And God is so good, that He said: "ask, and you shall be given". it could be so easy for all of us, to just ask for new hearts, love of thy neighbor, and wisdom, and the world would be a better place. The prenise of your question is incorrect. The hair isn't covered because it is erotic or sexual. If it was, single girls would cover their hair as well. The hair covering is a sign of dignity and the stature of a married woman. She doesn't go out without a haircovering in the way that the Queen doesn't go out without her crown.

Few generations ago, in my country, as well in many others, married women did wear their head covered, with a scarf. only unmarried women wore their hair loose, or in braids the majority of them. but the Bible says no such thing, it was a custom from the church, (Bible says that in church, women should cover heads, in the presence of God), which they took also in everyday life. So, I consider, there is no blame from the Bible to wear uncovered hair (except when going to church) as a married woman. what I consider disturbing is that Jewish married women, think that their hair is covered, wearing wigs. this is wrong. who am I to blame, after all....we all are sinners. we all are faulty nowadays, when even in church women do not cover their hair anymore. it seems like everyone went crazy with hedonism and narcissism. it is a good thing that we can learn from each other, and choose the good things we see, and not the bad ones. May God Almighty and Jesus Christ help us to do so!
@@RaphaellyRaphaelly-KalimbaHike The Bible (Torah) in describing the ordeal/punishment of the Sotah (a married woman who secluded herself with another man and is accused by her husband of infidelity) writes that her clothing is ripped and her head uncovered in public as a sign of shame. Judaism derives from this that the proper dignified manner for married woman in public is to have her head covered.
Although modern wigs look very much like real hair to the uninitiated, Orthodox Jewish women can tell it is wig with a glance.
