Thanks for another great video! I can't wait to try to build this. I passed my general exam this week, and my radio came in the mail yesterday (Yeasu FT-710). I am just waiting for all the parts and pieces to arrive so I can build my Poor Man’s POTA PERformer. I can’t wait to get on the air! Thanks again, 73.
@@andyedwards9595 congratulations on passing your exam. I’m sure you’ll like the antenna. Not only does it work great but it’s fun to build. Make sure to subscribe do you won’t miss any of the upcoming videos. 73.
Hi Jerry. Thanks for making these video's. I like these vertical antenna setups with the somewhat directional characteristics. But I think I will make dedicated one piece wire sets for the 10-20-40 and 80 bands.
Not a problem. That will also work. If you do it for the vertical and the radials, you may find it actually takes more time to change bands. If you don't change bands that often really doesn't matter. Get out and enjoy the outdoors and play radio! Thanks for watching! I'm not an EE and not an expert on these but a transformer with the same number of turns on primary and secondary is 1:1. This "choke" transformer does not do any impedance matching as the impedance is same on input and output, in fact it doesn't matter which connector is used for input or output as the impedance will be the same either way. The internet has lots of definitions for these devices and unun's and believe it or not, they do not all agree with each other. Thanks for watching.

Thanks!
Thank you, Jerry for putting this together. Took some mystery out of building the choke.

Great video with the use of the Nano VNA, thanks for sharing and showing us the versatility of this device.
No problem! Very powerful little device that I am still learning. Subscribe so you won’t miss upcoming videos.
I love this budget stuff and how you invoke the mighty VNA to check the results. Thank You!

From what I’ve read it should be a 31 mix which covers 1-300 mhz. A 43 mix covers 25 mhz and higher. Depends what frequencies you wish to operate.
Thanks for watching.
I've never ever been able to solder to ring terminals. What's your secret?

A large tip, good quality 60/40 multi core solder, and some additional no clean flux. Tin the wires first. You're welcome.
How do you know it’s 1:1 and not something like 9:1 what’s the formula?
