It's the most important job you will ever have. Those of us who did not have good parents will be permanently broken and scarred. It doesn't mean we can't have wins, triumphs, and that we can't have good lives. But there's always going to be a void and something to work on. Please take it as seriously as possible. Be a blessing for your children. They didn't ask to be here

Something about the stripper interviews is SO good. Every single one of them I’ve seen are smart, insightful, empathetic, painfully damaged, but always trying, trying so damn hard to keep it together and make things be ok. You girls are beautiful and powerful and strong. All of you deserve nice things, good relationships, true love, and human respect. Wishing gypsy all the best. Gypsy is a survivor not a victim. When we transition from a victim to a survivor, we do not want pity ( that is for victims), we want respect because we worked very hard to become a survivor and it should be celebrated!

I agree in some cases but have to disagree with you about Gypsy. She’s a survivor as we all are that has made it through childhood trauma but surviving is just the very start of an incredible long journey of self healing. That’s when the real transformation begins.

I’m in a very stable relationship, with a very good man who takes care of me and my daughter, I’m in school for prelaw, eventually law school, I run a makeup/lash extension business out of my office, while still dancing. I’m only dancing till I’m done with law school.

What do all of these interviewees have in coming? Complex PTSD from childhood. If we want to make 🇺🇸 better we need to help kids from ages 0-5.

That's exactly what I was thinking. As an addict in long term recovery, I realize that all those years I didnt understand why I struggled to be 'normal' - I was in survivor mode. Couldn't sit still long enough to feel or heal. There's a lot of pain behind those eyes. Don't keep ignoring it. It will keep coming for you, keep up ending your life, time and time again, until you address it.
It's admirable that this woman doesn't view herself as a victim but she better address the pain that she's obviously carrying around and trying to suppress because in time it'll turn on her. That can be done in a healthy, constructive way and she's clearly capable of doing it as a smart, tough, honest woman. And a gorgeous one.
Goes to show how huge of a difference even just one decent person can make in someone's life.

Oh I just love her. I hope she finds a true friend one day. She deserves someone in her life who makes her feel safe and loved completely.
I appreciate her intelligence, honesty and self-awareness.
What intelligence? She just the typical, low class, doesnt have any talent, woman who uses her body to survive, because she has absolutely nothing else of value. Or, at least she isnt intelligent enough to figure out what value she has outside of her body.
Making excuses for people, and cheering them on when they've done nothing to deserve it, doesnt help them. It only reinforces their situation, removing any motivation to change said situation.
ALL women, not just her, cant rely on selling sex forever. Once shes aged out of it, theres nothing on the horizon for her. Lying to these people to make them feel better, is damaging them, not helping them.

I'm glad she had the chance to reveal things during this conversation that she had never discussed before. Many common feelings of parentified children. They would give anything to have one day of just being a kid again. I wish her well.

Parentified kids don't get to practice or learn how to be functional adults, grow up still longing to have fun and play be at the centre of their existence.
Gypsy, I stripped for 10 years in a high end establishment. I PROMISE you CAN make "stripper money" elsewhere. I work as a barber. Set my own hours, cash daily 300-400 a day. Go to school during the day and work Th, Fri Sat. Cosmetology includes make up. There IS light at the end of the tunnel. Hugs.

I agree - it was one of my favorites too. Just loved your spirit and humanity. Your early life was horrible and I do believe you have RESILIENCE… not every has it. Gypsy, your beautiful, smart, clever, resourceful, dignified. Stripping has given you a steady income and kept you off the streets. I applaud you for working for what you have. I see SUCH potential in you for SO much more that will fulfill your dreams…go back to school / college even part- time you have a LOT to offer this world, and I hope you will allow yourself to get some counseling to help you through the early trauma that finally showed up in your tears during the interview when you said you’d never talked about it all… and I do also hope your true love treats you with the real deal ALL the time. Not nessisarily. Addiction knows no gender or color ot socioeconomic status. It takes people when they least expect it. I should know i have 9 years clean from opiates. Thank the lord

I definitely feel her. From the raising everybody around you, to the parents on drugs and knocked the fuck out all day, random men at home, The "numbness" she speaks of. Where you go through crazy shit and wild ass life experiences only to not feel any of it cuz you're just so use to the violence and negativity that its just normal now. I feel it all and im grateful to know im not alone- we are not alone.

Glad I clicked on this one tonight. What a babe! As the interview progressed I really thought we’d heard it all but then she’d casually hit us with another mad story or traumatic situation. Armed robbery…. Suicidal thoughts as a child… driving as a 9 year old… I really felt her pain at the end when speaking about missing out on being a child :( big love to you Gypsy if you’re reading this from London ❤

Sweet girl.. it’s ok to feel and acknowledge things without falling into “ victim mode “ with them. If you continue to hold things inside it will eventually come out and possibly in a way your not in control of. You are strong, you are beautiful and you MATTER.
@@aparaatti Very true and it sucks 😕 then when people commit crimes get convicted go to prison and while they're in prison they have to attend all kinds of workshops and self-help classes some of these don't even have anything to do with their crime or their lifestyle but they have to get X-amount of certificates in order to make parole and while they're taking all those classes and doing those workshops they're also assigned to a job or more school or a vocational class for at tops sometimes 12 hours at least 4 hours of programming ( that's what it's called ) they're pretty much basically lied to by many of their instructors and other prison staff that when they parole they can use such and such certification in the outside world 🌎 that all the classes they were basically forced to take if they expected to get a parole date that jobs they got assigned to was all experience they could use on resumes when applying for jobs out here oh and some of the vocational classes they finished they could also start their own business I mean damn man they even had classes to get certified in the steps to own your own business well do you know here in CA for all that hard work you put in while incarcerated maybe if any at all is like 2% of the prisoners that get to parole start their own businesses using the certification they obtained doing their time I know this to be true because I went through it all myself and I was 1 of the thousands of parolees that all that hard work sleepless nights didn't help me get jack-shit out here
@@aparaattiExactly! People need more education about what happens to people with a record in this country. Most of the opportunities others have are gone, after that. There are very few fields or trades that will take you, and if it’s not where your abilities, aptitudes, or education lie, you’re in a jam. It’s hard to even get housing that’s not a trap house…that’s all felony friendly housing is, where I live, and it’s not easy to do different than everyone around you. It’s even dangerous to, as your housemates may think you’re a snitch. The American CJS is a sorting mechanism that reserves opportunities to some, and denies them to others, intentionally or not. Most people go to prison for subsistence crimes, not violent crimes or even crimes of ethics (which white collar criminals, largely, get away with). It’s not a given that if you commit a crime, you pay for the rest of your life, whether you’re 18, addicted, starving, or what. Many other countries expunge crimes after rehabilitation, and that’s actually what it is…a place to get your mental and chemical health straight and work on a legitimate means of support. We have one of the most condemning legal systems in the world, especially among wealthy, industrialized countries, and it doesn’t have to be this way. It’s neither cost effective, nor a way to reduce crime to limit people to mostly criminal economic opportunities.
Heart touching and heart breaking interview. What an incredible woman to have experienced that life. You can feel her resilience and know she is breaking the pattern for future generations.

Guess thats how you see it. I don't see it that way. Most people wouldn't even admit that they got involved with a criminal or became one themselves. I believe people can change though when they face what they have done. Tell me you have NEVER done anything wrong in your life, I will know you are the liar.
@@edwardjones2202 if I were to tell every single detail of my life, we’d be here for hours. I caught an armed robbery charge because I didn’t tell on my ex boyfriend. I was not there. How bout not assume and just be kind? Even if I DID do it, that doesn’t define my entire life. Please don’t act like you’ve never done something illegal.

Thank you for sharing your life story with all of us. If you aren’t ashamed of stripping then hold your head up high and become the best in your profession. You are the only one at the end of the day that needs to answer to yourself. I understand what you said about being SA as a child that you think it doesn’t effect you. I thought this for years and years until I just recently realized after I had a break down that it has absolutely effected me. It changed the person I could’ve been. I learned behaviors that protected my mental and physical health and most definitely my emotional health. Unhealed trauma manifest itself in a million different ways. Self destruction, depression, neg self image, attachment difficulties, relationships cycles of abuse, excessive worrying, acting out sexually, poor impulse control just to name a few. 😉 You are strong, resilient and worth an amazing live in this world. I wish you the best 💜

Really enjoyed listening to you thank you for sharing a part of you with us. A lot of what you said really resonated with me, especially the chaos your bio mother exposed you and siblings to all hours of the night and the fear that resulted. I experienced that as well with an estranged and negligent “mother”. You’re not a psychopath or a narcissist and nothing wrong with sex work/stripping if you’re happy period. For what it’s worth you turned out just fine. You’re smart, you’re beautiful, and you have an extremely calming and therapeutic disposition and voice. Maybe one day you can share that gift in a capacity that is healing for yourself and those you engage like something in the form of ASMR or massage therapy for example. Love to you ❤

When I wake up in the middle of the night & my kids are sleeping and or in stuck in rush hr traffic 🙃 alone with my own thoughts...
I turn to your work, Mark... And the stories that all to often are not known, the voice not hear, the humans that all so often are not treated as humans! Unfortunately all to often these stories are only known, seen , heard by front line workers, and those of us that are medical & mental health fields.
But in most case we are not able to advocate for all to many of those in situations where we are needed to step in & try to help situations 🙏.... because those who need saving & help, will not be but in our paths and suffer alone or with in their households and or "family" units. So we are not able to respond, help , get help and give them what ever support they are in need of. So many missed opportunities to help this child/ baby that needed her healthy tribe to step in and make sure she had the live she deserved ❤

I had a similar upbringing and felt like this my whole life, as if none of the trauma impacted me in any way…then I hit 37…and it all came crashing down at once. I hope this young lady has some support when she is forced to face the pain of the past. 🖤
Things definitely catch up with you. I had a good childhood but a short one...got married at 16 & my life changed drastically. Went thru things that were like hell on earth & thought I was so strong all these years. At 55 & looking back, I think I was around 50 when it all came crashing down & by then I had lost my parents and most of my family. A good support system is definitely something you don't realize how wonderful it is until you no longer have it. Wish you the best.
My mother did the same thing… when I had the flu at 16 y/o she gave me OxyContin. Now having a child of my own, I realize how all the bad parenting traumatized me 😢
What in the hell did oxycontin have to do with the flu?? Good god, she should have been giving you cold remedies, etc., not chronic pain meds. WTF!

The boyfriend on the hood of the car, was exactly what happened when my mum got away from my father. He jumped on the hood. She put the car in reverse and he rolled off. She took off. There was blood all over the car, but it was my mums. I was so glad to see my mom. I was scared too because I knew my father would " hunt her down". It was scary and freeing at the same time. I had forgotten this until now.
She has such nice energy, even after all that she's gone through. I hope she can feel the love through the comments and know there are always other opportunities for her!

So appreciate Gypsy's willingness to share and be vulnerable. I've long thought the root of anger is sadness and is would seem clear that more than one caretaker, let her down. I so wish that her plea for kindness towards others was more often her experience.
There is something about her charm.... I was having. Bad night started listening to her voice calmed down and heard her words.... Thank you for sharing our history is what makes us who we are. Even if you don't see it it's there somewhere braided within our souls.... You have an old caring soul watching out for those around you... Breaks my heart to think of any children having to climb up to the cupboards to find something to eat. I'm telling you, Gypsy...I am so sorry you had to live that way. As far as not remembering certain things that you have been told that happened to you at a younger age...I was listening to one of Paul Romano's videos on YT and he mentioned this. It is quite common for people to not remember much, if anything, before the age of 8. This doesn't happen to everyone, as I can remember all the way back to age 2. My son is 32 and I asked him not long ago how far he can go back in memory and I was surprised that he didn't remember much before 8-10! And he had a wonderful childhood, I made sure of that. So...there is nothing "wrong" with you for not being able to remember things. I can't remember what Paul called it in his video that day. I just remember him saying that this happens to quite a few people.
Sounds like you are continuing to do what it is you do for a living. The only thing that comes to mind for me is to tell you to make every effort to sock away as much cash as you can. Of course, you will need money for living expenses but try your best to save some aside for that unpredictable "rainy day". Be safe! 💜
I’m glad you described it . I can remember from 2 1/2 yrs of age until 41. But my brother whose 4 yrs younger than myself doesn’t remember as much from 8 yrs old. Then one day he told me he actually did he just said it because he didn’t want to relieve details. It wasn’t all great. My dad use to beat the hell out of our mom. Imagine covering yourself over your momma at 4yrs of age. Then getting tossed around like on a roller coaster. Eventually I got tired . It didn’t stop the beating. But then my younger brother started to do the same. At some point my mom told me you never tried to protect me. And in my head are you crazy??? You really don’t remember??? But then I realized as an adult it’s possible she blacked out or something. Domestic abuse does a number on the children. I became extremely shy as a child. My brother was the fighter. Any way just great to hear a different perspective.
Does everyone get childhood amnesia?
Not necessarily. Childhood or infantile amnesia, the loss of memories from the first several years of life, is normal, so if you don't remember much from early childhood, you're most likely in the majority.

Gypsy, you are absolutely beautiful. Keep your head up. It is refreshing to see someone take ownership of their choices and hold themselves accountable instead of making excuses for the messed up things they do. In that respect I want to be more like you. I've been hiding behind some stuff that went down when the truth is I always had a choice and I chose what I chose and it is what it is and all I can do is try to be a better person and make better choices every day. Gypsy is a special soul. Girl, if you see this, Ayahuasca helped heal my heart from past traumas and helped me get off a 12+ year stink on heroin and opiates. You've gotten off the shit without it (get it!!) but I'd bet that there's a lot of healing you could benefit from. It helped me forgive myself and others and move forward. Look into it, beautiful! I believe you'll use your suffering to help others. First step is to start to acknowledge and talk about the pain, which you've done today! Bravo!! Sending you love and strength! 🤍

Says she's not sad, not bothered by her past, not depressed, and then starts crying, talking about her past. She keeps questioning if she's a narcissist or psychopath. Narcissists and psychopaths don't have that kind of insight to even question themselves. It sounds like it's a defense mechanism, to keep her sane! Bottling things up, shoving them down, and saying they don't bother you, is a way to convince yourself that you're okay. I hope she seeks some sort of therapy, I think it would benefit her a lot. She's been through some awful stuff.

I wish I could be there for her. She’s had to stay strong to survive her whole life even to the point where she’s not Intouch with what she feels. It’s awful and I hope she finds somewhere safe where she can just be, not survive but just be.
