I'm late to your channel but just wanted to say that I've binged quite of your few videos as of late as I'm now (40 years old) trying to get into toys that I couldn't buy when I was a kid :) Your videos are awesome and thank you for everything you do.
That’s awesome! Thank you for watching - glad I can help share the hobby with you! That’s the one good thing about diecasting - there are no age limits! I’ve met collectors that are 5 and 75 years old, ha! 😎🏁
Thanks for the detailed post. I hope Matchbox continues these sets and add hotels and other "businesses" so a complete city can be created. Now I have to purchase some plywood to place these on for my grandson.
Thanks for watching! And I agree - I hope this series is long-lasting as I would love to see other businesses as well. A grocery store, car dealership, hotels, city offices and more licensed restaurants would be awesome! I don’t know if you have an IKEA near you, but the IKEA basic table tops work great for playset layouts. They are very affordable and come finished in various colors - I actually use the same style table to film these videos on.
@@64Wheels Thanks for the IKEA suggestions. I'll check it out. Those sound safer than plywood and lighter. By the way, I got to thinking and will suggest to Matchbox that these kits might be a good "tool" for senior citizens. Deep down we are all kids and I think there would be some mental health benefits for them. thanks again for the quick reply.
@@JanManChronicles interesting! That would be great if Matchbox had a few more of these sets up their sleeves for 2022! I did a search for that set and I didn’t find anything either, but I’ll keep my eye out for it!
@@64Wheels There are a couple sellers who have it for pre-order. I can't link them on here for some reason. I also know a guy who sells Mattel product and he has several on order directly from Mattel. Perhaps a police station is a set you don't really want, but it's my most-wanted set and has always been a go-to for most boys growing up. I hope Mattel knocks it out of the park.
The airport is such an awesome set! Just based on size and detail alone it’s impressive. The Auto Shop is great too - Matchbox manages to pack a lot of detail into a relatively small space.
I think the Matchbox Auto Shop Playset is definitely worth buying. Also I think this playset would be good for Late 60's or 1970's Muscle cars, like a '69 Camaro or a Pontiac Firebird.
I had a similar though with the customization route - it would be cool to detail this and make it a throwback service center! I will probably be ordering a few of these and maybe trying to develop some new stickers/graphics for it!
Great detail. Someone who's a modeling maniac could weather, stain and paint this to make the darn thing look real with little work. Hmm...might have to try it...EDIT: 64Wheels, looks like you beat me to this idea!
Hey, does anyone know if that oddball Fast&Furious house (that reased this summer w/ the new movie) is compatible w/ these Matchbox AD playsets? I recently saw a kid w/ a hamburger store-type playset that, I think, wasn't made by Mattel but fit perfectly w/ the the city. I could be wrong & I may have misheard him, but either way it was great & I think that house would be amazing. My kid goes straight to it anytime we go to Target & doesn't understand why it won't work w/ the rest of his city. :( Could you do a complete video featuring ALL of the ActionDriver playsets? Thanks & good vid!
Thanks - I need to do a follow-up video with all the sets connected and will do that at some point soon. As for the Nano Mini F&F Toretto House Playset - I actually have an unboxing video on that set as well and unfortunately it’s for a smaller scale than the Action Drivers sets are for, but you could rig it up to an Action Drivers set. While the house is a bit small for 1/64 scale cars, you could get away with playing with them together ha. That’s the fun part about being a kid - imagining the town and connecting everything 🚗🚕🚙🚙
I'm in Canada and I would love to buy these. Cannot find them. We have the Fire Station, Hospital, Airport and the Gas Station and my little guy absolutely loves it.
You may just be behind - I ordered almost all of the 2022 sets from various places online, and just today was the first time I saw the Auto Shop in a retail store. So there’s hope! I’d like to think that I’d you got the first years worth you’ll start to see the second wave of them here soon!
Some will some won’t - I know as a kid that’s something I probably would have tried lol. I bought a second one of these to try and customize myself, but haven’t done anything with it yet.
When I first got my auto shop set, it did not come with the tires for the tire rack. Is there a parts department for Matchbox Action Drivers sets? If so, let me know!
Haha awe man no tires!? I’ve yet to run into any missing parts in the 20+ sets I’ve opened, so that’s a bummer. You can actually email Mattel’s customer service and see if they can replace the part or set.
They can be partially taken apart but the buildings and some other parts are them are meant to stay in place once assembled (more or less). You can take some of the smaller stuff on/off but I don’t think I’d suggest taking the main building or structure off every time as it risks breaking a tan or wearing out the connection tabs. The good news is that the road part of the playsets will come off easy so that can really help shrink its storage footprint.
The scratch makes it look more better since not alot of Buliding in real life is super perfect and clean

I'm doing the same. Great stuff!

@@64Wheels There is a listing for a "Matchbox Action Drivers Police Station Dispatch" for this year. Can't find any images of yet though.

I think the airport and the auto shop are the coolest match box sets so far can wait to get the auto shop

I use the matchbox action drivers sets for diorama
Me too - especially the more realistic looking sets like the auto shop - they make great diorama pieces!
Cool I got that yesterday
Coooool
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 isn't a excludes because the old mainline have it.
Looks like worth picking up!
It’s a great set and a customizer could probably do some cool things with it as the potential for added detail is definitely there!
Why not? It COMES with a pickup! 😁
This set i buy ,i will make a Video fromthis unboxing ;) i hope you check in ,Greetings and thanks for reviewing!
Cool! Thanks for watching! These sets are super - I don’t know anyone who isn’t happy they bought one!

Nice review! Just bought one at my local target. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man! The Auto Shop is one of the coolest sets imo - I am a sucker for anything automotive like a tuning shop or car dealer ha!
Should I expand my matchbox city with some new sets that came out for 2024?
Of course!
Yes

You can get the parking garage through Amazon if you're still looking.
Painting the details is REALLY a good idea, but would little kids have the patience for something like that?

Nice
I like that track, I give it a 10 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I also like 6:00
I’d like to see someone put all of them together. I’ve found it difficult to connect them together.
I am planning on doing a video connecting all the sets released so far, but need to get a few of them out of storage before I can finish the video ha.

are these playsets easy to break down for easier storage or is it more once it’s together it’s stays that way

Dude guess what I found I was at Amazon online and I found the matchbox action drivers Police station
Oh nice!!! I’ll have to hop on and check them out - thanks!!
