*White King is safer than Black King in King's Gambit.*
Opponent:"What sorcery is this?"

Hello everyone!
This is Ultra Deep Naruto Nunjitsu. We mortals do not possess such information
Magnus goes for a safer king and a pawn-up endgame...*in the King's Gambit*.
Fisher's King's gambit in the world chess championship back then is more impressive if you know the whole story.
@@victorvalenzuela9174 ofc this is a 3min blitz game...
@@victorvalenzuela9174 Were Fischer's games in long time format which would negate any valid comparison?
@@droceretik This is streaming chess while chilling at home which is a different setting than a championship so it's an invalid comparion in any case. Pressure, risk, anonyomous opponent etc all plays into this.
@@cyberneticbutterfly8506 Fischer once played a group of gms' at the same time
*Magnus has a strong attack and a safe king*
Magnus: Let's trade Queens and go for the endgame which is winning for me.
The man, the myth, the legend.
Two pinned knights don't phase Magnus, he's always cool as a cucumber.

Please more Kings Gambit! Was amazing!
Wolfe Motivation or he should try the Evans gambit 😍
To answer all the "why doesn't Magnus do [insert move] at [timestamp]?" questions:
It's because he's Magnus
Well said. Let's just appreciate that answer for a moment
Im about to comment one for asking😂
How about NO..?
Funny, I have just asked that .
Magnus should really start making videos analyzing games he finds interesting. Similar to Agadmator. I bet it would be really popular.
agadmator became quite dull and every video feels like its the same game. These magnus matches are so refreshing in comparison
Why are yall comparing magnus to fuckin agadmator lmao
@@blankplanet Jerry on ChessNetwork is excellent
I don't know why agadmator is even popular at all. Like, I too can click through GM games while reading off computer evaluations.
He contributes very little other than a cool accent and a flippant attitude.
@Rob Draper fair enough. I don't have the time, talent, or inclination to do better myself. But I think zibbit for example does :)
Magnus: “okayhh”
Start of every match.. he should just say “ok, time for another win”
5:19 Magnus didn´t see the fork. Just like me. Now I can sleep better.
Yep he missed two
There's a fork before that as well.
I'm around 1,350 and I saw two forks. He didn't fork on purpose 100% although I have no idea why
@@immagamer782 when is the other fork?

"Stop quoting unmemorable quotes"
@piggypigpig Why are you trying to stifle freedom of expression?
Insightful listening to what a super grandmaster is thinking during a game.
"The objective evaluation doesn't matter in a blitz game. I would say the objective evaluation looks pretty good for me"
Magnus : Play these kind of positions for fun
Me, doing the same : *"WTF did I just did??"*
do
Me at the start of this game: Jesus, Carlsen is in a terrible position, he’s totally exposed.
Me at the end: D-:
I love watching Stefan Salvatore play chess.
can we get these Magnus banter blitz videos in a playlist? thanks!
so effortless!
He's a monster!
The background was shot in monochrome to bring the forefront into focus. 15 shades of grey.
4:28 I can't tell if magus missed the triple fork, of if i'm an idiot for thinking that was a good movie and being shocked when he did not do it.
The white bishop is hanging. 2 active pieces (knight and bishop) for a pawn and a rook is not a good trade.
What a pleasure to watch Magnus play.
At first, I'm thinking, "What is he doing? Does this make any sense", "Is he drunk"?.
And then he drops the hammer. Truly brilliant.
5:18 a rare blunder
Loved it. Thanks Magnus.
Whoever has the option to go first has the advantage in this game that's a straight up fact because the defender has always got to defend
Can you imagine playing Chess for so long that you just keep playing it over and over again for a very long time?
Did Magnus get a camera stand?!!!! 🌅🎯🎉🎉🎉
It's the first time I've ever seen 4 pawn islands in a chess game. It's remarkable. :D
I wonder if opponents knowing that they are playing Magnus resign much sooner than they normally would? I’ve seen some very early resignations that even Magnus questioned.
And I wish Magnus would explain why the opponent gave up. It’s not always obvious to beginners like myself. But it would probably take 2-3 minutes to explain all of the options. Chess, can’t decide if I like it or hate it...
in this case he gave up, because he was running out of time. in a worse position without threats there was nothing to hope for
So glad someone else said this. I don’t feel completely stupid now.
Is this twitch streamed? If not, he should get a channel up and running.
i love magnus he always reminds me to drink water
LOVE King's Gambit! Can anyone please explain why at 1:18 "a4 looks sensible" than c4? Also, where can I find the PGN of this game to do my own analysis?
Because c4 blocks the white bishop
A4 immediately opens the A file for the rook and an attack on the enemy king. Generally it is also better to move pawns to the center of the board.
@@paulkim6742 Thank you.
His king may be safe but his rook is completely useless beside it. It's amazing how casually he wins against such strong players.
That rook's duty is guarding the king. That's why he si safer.
Defends h2, prevents any knight g3 tactics since that'd open a discovery against the queen. It's actually a deceptively good defensive piece in this game, almost single-handedly prevents black's attack.
@@mikes1984 I don't think there's an immediate knockout blow or anything, but they're two pawns down against Magnus and their position looks really bad. All of their pawns are isolated, so they'll need pieces to protect them, and their bishop and knight are both pretty short of useful moves, while Magnus' pieces all look fantastic. Plus, they were running out of time too.
Opponent was an FM. Magnus, Naka and those top over 3000 blitz guys eat 2500 GMs for breakfast.
Love the King’s Gambit

*Ok*
is there a reason magnus doesn't go knight c7 check at 1:07?
Illegal move, his king would be in check from the bishop
I fucking love it when magnus drinks his water
At 3:16 I'm curious, would B5 be a good option, essentially trapping the bishop?
Qd3 double attacking night and the advanced pawn
4:26 why not capture on f7?
Two pieces are considered better than a rook
If you mean to fork rook h8 and bishop h6, if opponent moves bishop to take bishop f4 then he’s just forking both black rooks, and then if he takes its just trading knight for rook as other rook takes it.
Tldr attacking to fork bishop and rook here means he loses his bishop and probably his knight and gains an undeveloped rook.
He seems like a nice guy.
Why did firemarshal resign?
1:25 Nc7
Bro how did you think of a better move than carlsen
No the knight is pinned to the king by the bishop
Humble question: Why didnt he check with the white knight at c7? 1:24 into the video. What am I missing?
It was pinned
@@johnnylabedzki Many thanks, saw it now.
Why the game ended?
Why the game stopped?
Yo Champ
In minute 1:00
Why didn't you take with night on C7
You had a fork on the king and rook
Im just a beginner can you explain
Thank you
The knight was pinned by the bishop on a6.
Even in his house, he drinks bottled water. 🤣
magnus should take the pawn nxc7 to fork the rook and bishop with giving check
The guy plays 4) ... ç4
After 5) Qh4 +, he goes Ke2 ans still manages to win.
I'm now convinced that ExtraTerrestrials do exist and that Magnus is one of them ;-))
Обожаю смотреть как Магнус играет!
At 1:06 isn’t black goes queen h5 just winning a knight, or is it bad positionally?
You just made me realize that after Kf2 Qxb5 Bxb5, black is one piece up
Yeah, Stieinitz was a long time ago and quite basic anyway -- like controlling the Knights. Better to go with your own ideas at this point. Agreed and understood. Very brave playing the Kings' Gambit and nice control of the situation to keep yours safer. Thx for sharing your tricks and thoughts there too. Excellent.
I think this guy will go far one day
Csn someone tell me why he didnt knight c7 before he castled???
In the opening around 01:30 Why didn’t Magnus fork the King & Rook & then take the Rook? Position over material?
joejitsu034 i guess the knight was pinned
Alex García Ahh Yes. Thanks mate. I’ve not been playing long. Still only rated 900 lol.
At 1:11 why didn’t Magnus put him in check? After he moves he then could take his castle. Very interesting he didn’t do that. He obviously had another plan. He still won...so I guess it doesn’t matter?
can you tell me why at 1:21 he doesnt force check and take rook.
knight c7 would be an illegal move since that knight is also pinned by the bishop on a6. moving the knight out of the way would allow the bishop to check his king, such illegal moves are often completely disabled on most online chess websites
Im a newer chess player. I don't understand how he got checkmate with that rook if the opponent still had like 3 more places to move which included A8, C8, and C7. I just don't see it.
4:22 why not Knight to F7 ?
I can't believe you missed that fork Magnus ....human after all, who'd have 'thunk' it??
5:17 NF4 fork! I saw it before Magnus, should I play world championship now?
Why did his opponent resign?
Why did’t play bishop G5 at 2:14?
i think what's more amazing than 2. f4 is 3. Nc3. As someone who plays the king's gambit often, I would be far to scared of Qh4 to even consider playing that
@JediNxf7 bc4 still feels much safer because of kf1, which white doesn't have on 3.Nc3. I play bc4 only in kg, and that to me feels very different than nc3
@@BREAKocean fair enough but it's still clear that OP doesn't *really* play the KG... at least not well 😜
@JediNxf7 That is a good point, one thing I noticed after trying to kick off queen is allowing Bg4 in some lines pinning Knight. You guys should check out www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1493276 . This game is the reason I will never play 3. Nc3 against players that are equal to my rating or better lolol
Soooo, did the player resigned or something? Why did the game end at 8 seconds left?
Yes, other payer resigned
3 pawns against 5 pawns with such a safe white king, and with 9 seconds left.. its impossible to win.. even if the opponent would be 1000 elo weaker
It's called Steinitz Gambit
Magnus is a funny guy
Pure Gold
excelente master.!!!!!!!!
On 4:27 he could have gone Bxd6+, right? Winning a pawn and having the fork with the knight
I think black's knight was more active than rooks, may be that's the reason behind that move from Magnus
He wins a pawn and a rook for a knight and a bishop. Not that good.
Stockfish play also not the Fork but Stockfish play in these Position Pawn H2 to H4.
"If the king does not lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?"

No worries not able to castle early.
Please give us Radio Jan & Radio Magnus.
i want hillbilly svidler
Escuse me but why in the minute 1:20 you didn't put the horse on c7?
king pinned
at 1:10 why wouldnt you go N-C7 to fork the king and rook? what am i missing here?
The Knight is pinned because there’s a discovered check from black’s bishop
at 5:17 he could move the knight to f5
5:19 why Rhe1 not Nf5?
Can any1 explain to me why he doesnt do horse c7 in 1:10? Is it a bad move? For me it seems good
It is illegal his night is pinned by the bishop on a6
can't, knight is pinned to the king
1:20, wasnt there a triple fork opportunity ?
I'm new to chess.. can someone explain why he wouldn't go knight to C7 at 1:24 and capture the rook?
Knight pinned to king by the bishop
What’s stopping Nc7 at 01:22?
the knight is pinned against the king
Bishop on a6 :)
@@tanishksharma3305 After castle then isn't the bishop on a6 free? I'm extremely new to chess, but I don't really see the downside here
@@twixles6297Black Bishop (A6) is threating white King (E2).

Hey magnus drinking water just like us!!!
praise all GM that play king gambit,
looked like a terrible position, never in doubt!!
Just coming on here for a bit of motivation before I play my next game.... Ok I'm back from my game, I lost.
what happened at 4:21 why didnt he rook with his kignt
At 4:32 you can go knife f7 also. If I was you I would get it for sure
How the sam hill did he win this?
If I put my King on e2 I would resign immediately
1:21 Why didn't he play knight c7?? Seems easy, forking a king and the rook ..
Whites king is underfire from blacks white bishop
kevin kütt ah okay
Knight pinned by a6 bishop.
Literally you can't beat Magnus..He know every position and how to take advantage out of everything!
Found Hikaru's alternate account.
Unless if you are chinese then you can beat him.

@5:17, Nf5?
3:35, why not Kxg5? The black's queen and knight are hanging
If black queen takes white queen on D1, then white need to capture white queen. Then black knight captures white knight on G5, and bishop captures, no gain aside from pawn.
B5 to c7 early on... Did magnus miss this?
I thought the same but the king was pinned by the bishop.
2:45 e7 -> g4?
