Definitely not ready to watch THAT SCENE with you man.
@@dduval59 Because of that scene everytime I think of the lyrics "every little thing is gonna be alright" I start to feel a twitch in my lip & eyebrows lol
My thoughts exactly as soon as I seen this posted
Ditto
Seen it tons of times, still gets me. Hurts more thinking of my dog🐕
Well he usually kept Fred outside the video store well Fred wasn’t where he should have been and that’s why he was trippin
Funny thing is, I'd never seen the alternate ending where Neville survived. I'd heard about it for years and knew that a sequel was in the works due to Neville being alive from this ending. But this was different, especially since it was my first time seeing it!
Same!
Same bruh!
I had seen it before and personally I like the original ending better. This feels too forced as a hapoy ending, and you miss the explanation of the title of the movie at the very end.
Same, for a second I thought I was tripping
@@Dionysus026 I am not sure which ending I really like, the film isn't exactly a carbon copy of the novel. But in the alternative ending, the title still works as he is the Legend (i.e. he is the killer to the new society kidnapping them in their "night" and experimenting on them).
We all know what part is going to slay our boy. And I’m here for it.
“Don’t worry… bout a thing… cuz every little thing.. is gonna be alright…”
Yep
I prefer the book, because of that goddamn scene.
first thing i thought when I saw this posted 🤣
as a dog person and owner of a German Shepard it took me years to be able to watch this again...
I've never seen this version where Robert lives. I knew it existed though. Thanks for showing this ending!!
He was scared/worried/curious about the mannequin out of place. It moved and it can’t move. He had to be wondering if there were other people around or that he had lost his mind.
Put some respect on Hank
I disagree. it's so much sadder than that. MAAAAAYBE one of the creatures moved it, far more likely, he put it there. Just like he begged the lady mannequin to talk to him, he was trying to scare this one into speaking and is heart broken both because it didn't speak and because he already knew it wouldn't. He's lonely beyond reason with no way out
@@afurinperil duh
@@afurinperil do you think k he would have thought that? He even told the new girl that they cannot plan or think? Before, before he realized that, maybe, just maybe, they are evolving. 🤷🏻♀️
@@afurinperil and I’m sure that would be the conclusion of your he audience; but will smith would have not believed they could. Just my take. Yours is as valid as mine. I love that we see it differently. Gives the world spice. 😀
A dog once saved my life from another dog when I was a kid. Every time I see that fight scene with the dogs in this movie I think about that. The funny thing is, a drug dealer in the neighborhood was running a dog fighting ring (I know, terrible right) & he gave us the dog because she would never fight. She fought that day though. We saved her life by taking her in and then she saved mine. The dog that would never fight, fought another dog to save my life. Love you Honey!
🖤🖤
Dogs truly are mankind’s best friend, good on her for the loyalty she showed to you on that day and forward. I love honey too. ❤❤❤
The (slight) reveal that the dog is female just adds an extra touch of heartbreak, and harkens back to him losing his wife and daughter.
I showed my son that you were releasing this on RUclips today and he said he'd never seen it so we sat down to watch it together. During that scene where Sam died my son was like, "oh no. Our boy J ain't gonna be ok." And I was like, "yep. This is gonna mess him up." Sincere concern from big fans.
I was so confused at the end here, because I saw this movie when it came out. Didn't know there was a "happy ending" to this movie 😂
There isn't, well not really
@briangoss8062 that's why I added the " ". The original just has him blow himself up taking everyone with him, and the movie ends.
@@RealNTAF That was my point as well. The movie as seen by EVERYONE did not have a happy ending. Nobody knows this ending. Also it doesn't end with him blowing up the girl and kid make it out and make it to the safe zone and it is a bit longer ending I think. Shows them making it to the safe zone and being welcomed in and society rebuilding not just them driving off into the unknown.
If you love post-apocalyptic worlds and or Denzel Washington you must see Book of Eli ❤
Absolutely GREAT movie!!!!!
Facts!
Yes!
Agree
The book “I am Legend” is a fantastic read. The character Neville spends his days scrounging for supplies and killing the undead. At night, he hides in his bunker as the creatures gather and shout “Come out, Neville!”
When he is finally captured and condemned to death, he learns that the “feral” monsters he’s been hunting for so long have coalesced into a society of their own, and HE is The Thing vampire parents warn their children about. He has become a creature of myth and legend.
eh, everybody makes that point but it's so weak in the book. The book is barely comparable to this movie. The creatures aren't the same. The story is completely different.
Have you ever seen either 'The Last Man on Earth' (1964) w/ Vincent Price as Robert "Morgan" &/or 'The Omega Man' (1971) w/ Charlton Heston as Neville? That last film is more like the book IMO than this ever was, this is the 3rd adaptation of it, soon there will be a 4th w/ the upcoming sequel.. Check out Omega tho sometime if you haven't already, I kinda liked it.. Idk about the first one with Price tho, I haven't seen that one yet..
@@chrisbell9075 oh yeah, after reading the book I was curious about both. And I like both, for different reasons.
@@andrew348It's the stinger at the end. It's what the author left you to think about, literally on the last page, when the title finally makes sense. That's why people remember it.
💯ABSOLUTELY AGREE with your sentiments!! If you're the type of person who don't love your Furr Baby from your heart WE CAN'T BE FRIENDS period. PUP 🫶 LOVE !
That look in J’s eyes for Sam.. I knew what to expect at that scene.
Oh man I feel for J on this one I really do.
I took in an injured cat and when he passed on 2 years later, i cried for a week cause i felt like i failed to protect him.
I've been there...one cat dying loudly in my arms..another put down while I comforted her..and in March staying bedside with my Vet brother after I ordered the removal of life support........it was not quiet or still.......
I will never be the same...
🌿🌿🌿
27:52 “saving that bacon” meant that he forgot Sam was dead and he always left some food for him.
But aside from that, Hello ‘EOM Reacts’. I’ve just started watching your channel and absolutely love your videos. I’m currently eating a Banana splits watching you react to this movie because it’s a Will Smith Banger. So far you have reacted to most of my favorite movies and that’s what makes you one on my favorite RUclipsrs of all time. Also I love your dogs!! ❤️❤️
I'm glad you found him. He is one of my favorite reactors.😊
Really wish the movie kept the original ending
i think him talking to the mannequins is to keep his sanity. humans are social creatures and need interaction with other people. him pretending there are other people to talk to could keep him from losing it completely. similar to how tom hanks had wilson on the island. even the act of paying for what he took in the store like it's just another day out is a way to have some normalcy.
23:29 real talk, got emotional watching your reaction to that scene and how you asked “can he save her”… good god 😢
That Detroit shirt goes crazy
@21:00 😢😭 we are with you man..
@16:28 “Man, look at the puppy..” 😢 I am already tearing up for J..
I can't do it. It's too hard. But i love your reactions and i just gotta say how stunning Rom's coat is. He is the shiniest baby ever! Such a classic sign of health and wellbeing 😊❤🐶
I’ve never seen this ending. I really think I like the other one better, but I’m glad I saw this!
Another layer of messed up in "that" scene is, not only was his bond with the dog strong, not only did he get it from his kid, but it was literally the only creature he had to talk to. That's why he talks to mannequins. To try to soothe that longing for contact. And after that part, he has nothing.
OMG MY heart just broke. Sam no. Not the dog. I hated that scene. I know you aren't going to like that scene at all. I cried way too hard for Sam's death. It broke me.
My daughter has insisted that I be responsible for paying for her therapy after taking her to see this movie. It was this or the bucket list. I stand by it. Great movie Murder Whistle! 20:35 in. This is why we love you brother.
This is the first time I’ve seen this alternate ending.
Couple of points to make, JL. Will Smith isn't crazy. Without society, you go crazy. He's just role playing with those mannequins. Kind of like Tom Hanks and Wilson in Castaway. If you don't have anyone to talk to, real or imaginary, you really start to lose your mind, and the dark loneliness that leads to madness or suicide starts to take over. He used those mannequins to stay sane.
I've heard of the monsters in this movie being more referred to as vampires because of their desire for blood, their sun sensitivity, and their increased speed and strength.
I don’t think you can just make that claim definitively lol especially considering “crazy” isn’t an official diagnosis. He could be suffering from some form of mental illness while also talking to the mannequins to cope. It doesn’t have to be that he’s either crazy or not crazy. Things aren’t that black and white. You also contradicted yourself in the first two sentences: he’s not crazy, then you said without society you go crazy. Again, crazy isn’t an official diagnosis but the implication is that crazy equals mentally ill. I think it’s pretty safe to say his character definitely has mental illness stemming from trauma, as well as his own coping methods.
@dustyblanco1546 I see some of what you're saying, but I don't agree that I contradicted myself. He created a simulation of society in order to avoid losing his humanity. I suppose I should have qualified what I meant by crazy, so thanks for calling that out.
The short story it was based on pretty much said they were vampires. They kept coming for nevell because he would kidnap and kill members of their new society.
@tommoore6356 Well, I just posted that about vampires. Lol. Ah well. The first 2cmovies also treated the not human folks as vampires.
He’s plenty crazy in real life already
How many damn endings this movie got? Not seen that one before. Was waiting for the grenade.
There was two endings oerignally. But the grenage one made the cut for the theatrical version. Eventually on release the DVD included an bonus scene with the alternate ending. Then they made a second version of the movie and released it with the new ending replacing the old one all together.
I already know Sam's death is gonna hit J like a ton of bricks
I have missed the last 3 lives I didn't get a notification!! I hope you get to see both with alternate endings!! Abbey the dog who plays Sam short for Samantha Will Smith begged to buy her in real life
I am just not ready for THAT scene😭😭😭
We're with you J!☺️💚
I loved my dogs so much and i miss them everyday 😢 People use to tell me why do you care so much theyre just dogs! I said no these are my babies
Same, my older dog just got diagnosed with lymphoma, had dogs my whole life he was the best I've had, expecting to have to let them go at old age not a disease. It's hard either way 😢
@@laurenherda2415 I'm so sorry 😢
This movie is incredible ❤❤❤always brings me to tears 😢😢😢I love Will Smith idc that he slapped Chris Rock 😮😮the man can act his tail off❤❤I have an English bulldog named Pooter and an Australian Shepherd named Sissy. They are my children and I love them dearly ❤❤if this happened to one of them my world would end😮😮😢😢
I already know which part he’s going to cry on. It got me too and I’m NOT a crier.
Love you, man. I know you don’t likely remember me, but I’ve been following since the beginning. You gave support when I lost my cat and had to go to rehab, then lost my dad and had to take care of the grandparents. My days get better when I see shit like this.
🖤
19:58 incoming absolute emotional damage 🥺😢😭🤬 Ya dude, this shit destroyed me the first time I saw it. It was like reliving Artax drowning in the Swamps of Sadness all over again
This is the alternate ending. He dies in the original
You're gonna cry at *that part* and I barely hold on as it is when I see this film 😂 I'm not ready.
Because I love everyone at EOM I will watch it again. But I know it’ll wreck me again. 😢
Bad enough the dog dies, but it was his only friend in the world. He had to get Sam home and try some serum. I know where you’re coming from, but it wasn’t Sam anymore. You don’t want her living life like that anymore. I would of locked her up somewhere until I perfected the Serum.
Wait, what ending is this? Never seen that version before!
This is the alternate ending version. In the theatrical version, Anna and the boy hide in the coal chute and Neville sacrifices himself with a grenade to kill all the infected in the lab. Movie ends with Anna and Ethan arriving at the survivalist colony and giving them a vial of Neville's blood which is the cure.
What I love about the book is he is the only human still alive. . The new sub humans are terrified of Neville. He can walk during the day without being burned, Neville kidnappeds there kind and does experiments on them. He is the monster in thier eyes. He is the "legend" to this new species of humans. A monster that is a threat to them thta needs to die. I'm glad you spot that they are infact intelligent. Great reaction, no dog in the books thank god.
The book was so much better than the movie
@spiralbones here comes the "the book was better then movie" people. Insufferable
Damn, I never seen it this way.
I look forward to the day someone actually makes the book into a film. I hope they even go for a 70s grain to it.
@@codywalsh2075 In a lot of cases, I agree with this sentiment, but when a movie changes the ending and the core concept so much that it completely negates the actual title of the movie...
That was a different ending than the one I saw.
I haven’t seen this version. I prefer the other one.
This is gonna be tough lol
I cry every time I watch this movie. I knew Sam's death would get you. The only consulation for me is knowing that Daisy, the dog, was trained to go limp for that scene. Still hurts to see though 😢
Yep we all needed consolation from that scene!! And some might have had consultations as well :)
5:31 This is why I was surprised you were watching this one.
20:15 this scene still gets me every time. They did such a great job of building up their relationship so fast in the movie that it makes the weight of this moment overwhelming.
Did J watch the other endings?
Great reaction as usual.
1. This is my favorite Will Smith movie.
2.The part that gave me real respect for Will Smith is the scene where he's talking to the mannequin right after having to kill his best/only friend and says,
"Please say hello to me". 😭THAT'S acting. Where did he go to get that?.
3. This film is mostly a remake of "The Last Man On Earth" and "The Omega Man" staring Charlton Heston.
4. The wild animals escaped from the Manhattan Zoo.
5. He was saving the bacon for Samantha.
6. There's speculation that he's the bad guy because he's the hunter now.
7. I absolutely fell in love/LUST with Alice Braga after I saw this movie.
8. The female was the leader's squeeze.
9. This is the ending where he lives. The other one is one's better. He dies in "OM" too.
The "speculation " probably comes from people who've read the book. He's definitely the bad guy there. That was the whole point.
This was adapted from a book, not a remake.
@@SurvivorBri There were two endings
@@arisucheddar3097 Then the book[s] is/are stupid. Trying to portray him as the bad guy for taking some of them, meanwhile they wiped out an entire society. A bit like a Nayzi whining because the allied forces didn't give one of their prisoners of war a nice enough breakfast. lol
How fitting your dog came to you at the end of the video 💯❤️
I have never seen this ending. Wow!
Sam was out there fighting though. Love that damn dog
In Wales where I live we have a statue of Gelert the dog, if you love dogs don't read the legend of Gelert 😭😭😭
Brother i know exactly what you mean. "I would be a shell of myself"
I’ll sneak a peek and chat a bit while shopping. Good luck J! 😢
This was not the ending i remember lol
It took me a stupid amount of time to realize the meaning of the title. He’s the creatures’ Legend, he’s their myth, their boogeyman who literally captures them during their “night time/when they sleep”
I just always wondered though, do they not remember being human? How does the virus or whatever make them forget that
@@rumham7466They're slowly coming back to sentience. They were stripped down to just instinct. So no, they don't really remember.
Just so you know, this is not actually the original released ending "which in my opinion the original ending is so much more better as it makes more sense"
Also it doesn't match the book. It doesn't make sense. I get they wanted to make a sequel but it just doesn't fit.
20:19 one of Will Smith’s best acting scenes. The way the camera stayed on him the whole time, the pain he felt, incredible.
I was emotionally invested with you on THAT scene until I got hit with the 2hrs later clip 😂😂😂.... And yes those apple juices are elite 😂😂😂
Do they have two different endings to this movie? The one I saw Will Smith dies in the end and Anna finds a safe compound of survivors and uses his blood to create a cure.
It’s true! If you stay upside down for too long your head explodes!
Saw what you were watching & IMMEDIATELY went to the part that left me shook & seconds away from leaving the theater back in the day. & it did the same to you. After seeing this movie in theaters, & at the time I had a black German shepherd, I immediately had to hug my dog as soon as I was home. & even though it still would be sad to have Sam just die, it hurt SO much more that he had to actually kill one of the last things alive that he loved. Just heartwrenching.
First time seeing the alternate ending !!...
So sorry you were hurt by the scene with Samantha..many hugs J...
🌿🌿🌿
There are two previous movies of this story, one is The Omega Man, with Charleton Heston, and the other I can’t remember the name of, but it stars Vincent Price. Both are worth watching.
Last Man on Earth is the Vincent Price movie
29:19 - One of the brilliant things about this movie (and I haven't read the book or seen The Omega Man, so I don't know if this is in those) is that there are all these clear signs that the Infected have at least base-level human intelligence, but Wil Smith can't see them because a) he made an early assumption about their intelligence and won't re-evaluate it, and b) because he's been so long without human contact that he's failing to recognize regular human connections.
Awesome reaction and Samantha's death is one of the saddest character deaths in cinema history, when people think of this film it's always that gut punching scene and that says how likeable that dog was.
He was scared/worried/curious about the mannequin out of place. It moved and it can’t move. He had to be wondering if there were other people around or that he had lost his mind.
When I saw you about to watch this i said to myself "uh oh"
Ok murder meats is the official new term for zombies!😂😂😂😂
What version of the movie was this? The other ending is so much better than the one in this version.
I'm glad you watched the version with the alternative ending because it shows that although the night seekers aren't exactly human anymore they do have higher functioning going on in their brains and to them, he's the monster that's been kidnapping them and killing them because he's trying to "fix" them. Maybe they don't want to be fixed.
Ugh The Boondock Saints has a cat in it not a dog.
That is not the ending i remember.
WOW I was caught by surprise at the end I've never seen that ending before
that dog scene got me my grandmother dog had to be put down today
(SPOILER) This was the alternate ending version. In the theatric version, Neville blows himself up with a hand grenade to allow the woman and boy to escape with the cure. It's darker but I prefer the theatric version. Now we just need a version where Sam lives.
Yes, Fred the mannequin was at the video store originally.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Will Smith movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
wait a minute what? I never seen this version the 1 Ive always saw Will Smith dose die an next morning Anna & Ethan do find a colony of survivors
@2:02 Those people who suggested stay away from this movie love you J. They care about you. So do I. ✌️🥰
That being said, the fact you’re wearing a Detroit shirt for this reaction is frickin’ hilarious!
✌️🤣💕
will smith said in an interview that the dog was genuinely one of the best actors he has ever worked with.
As soon as I saw the title, I was like ;oh no, the dog is going to destroy him😢

Alot of stfu's and alot of breaks upcoming.. 🐕
dude you got 70k suscribers and even earn lot of cash from patreon...you could buy a proper movie instead of these ''watch free/torrent'' discarded versions that never made to final movie....guy dies...
I watched the one that goes along with the sequel they are making genius. It’s no point in me watching the other one when it’s NO LONGER CANON - J
"FRED"wasn't supposed to be standing there.... Only HE Moved the mannequins around. .. so for that one to be standing. There.... He didn't put it there someone else did
That toddler walk off😢 Broke my heart my man ,Im sorry we did this to you!!!
Okay... I'm confused, because the one I watched, he blew everything and the zombies up for the girl and little boy to escape???
@EOM J as usual your reaction never disappoints, I am never a Will Smith fan for many reasons the Chris Rock moment did kill it permanently for me. Shame too Will was an amazing actor. Never seen this ending before I think I prefer the other. I loved the discussion after as well. I knew that part would wreck you :/
I like the original ending much better. It's more tragic and dark, realizing you're the only human left alive. Life has evolved and moved on and you're the monster now. Happy endings are nice sometimes but not always, because life itself isn't always a happy ending.
This ending version is stupid
Bro I'm glad I read the comments about the alt ending. I thought I was tripping out cuz I swore dude blew himself up.
Already know he’s gonna tear up during THAT scene. Should’ve listened to the people that tried to dissuade you from watching this 😂 it is a pretty decent movie though
23:35... Yeah, but it had already transformed and tried to eat him, he defended for him AND any1 else out there, incase sum1 else is there, he'd be no help if the zombie dog version took him out...
\O>
We all had that reaction my man.
Didn’t you watch the walking dead? People are way more dangerous than zombies.
I knew I wouldn’t be able to watch you watch the Samantha scene. Sobbing!!! Such a heart breaking scene
Love this movie. That dog scene is still one of the saddest moments in a film for me. First time I ever cried watching a movie.
wow i never seen that ending i watched the wrong one i guess this makes more sense for part two.
