My sweet hubby kept telling me that he wanted to back up our external hard drive (held a terabyte) because it was getting kind of old (8 years old) and before he did it, a metal shard broke off inside and scratched the inside disc and permanently deleted 10 years of photos including ALL my kids pictures I've ever taken (I was a amateur photographer too)! We even took it to several expensive professionals to help with no luck. I cried for weeks and still do sometimes! Accidents happen...
