I'm not usually into brawler-type games, but this caught my eye when I saw it in the upcoming section on the Switch eShop. The visuals look neat, the gameplay seemed decent, and I do enjoy RPG elements in a game. While it might not be for hardcore brawler fans, I do enjoy action RPGs and so it seems like I might enjoy the gameplay, even if the story and characters aren't so great. While this appears to come out pretty well, I might wait on it for a little while longer, given that it's most likely more fun with a friend. But as always, I appreciate the review.
looks like another game trying to join the ranks of the great beatemup/rpgs: river city ransom, castle crashers, charlie murder. what EVERY OTHER entry in this subgenre forgets is that a beatemup/rpg HAS to be a functional beatemup FIRST. it has to be able to work WITHOUT the rpg elements, THEN the rpg elements add replayablility and depth.
Hmm. Just started it and I found it.....forced, with the way they just randomly say "fuck" and "goddamn" just outta the blue in the first 5 minutes. It's like they added the profanity because they thought grownups wouldn't play a kids game...which is what the characters design seem to signify. I mean the game is decent for what it is but it's like the game was finished and Stephen King came in and just randomly added in profanity. Did you know any kids when you were young that loved to say fuck and goddamn? Lmao I couldn't imagine a Mario game just all of a sudden saying "Fuck off Bowser"
Unfortunately, the game isn't very good. Never mind the highly unbalanced equipment and the fact that backstab crits break the game entirely, but the game takes a nosedive in quality after beating Tetcha. After her, all the enemies pretty much play out the same way, with very little variance the entire way through. Speccing in attack and using the double blades (specifically the one you get from the first goblin assassin boss) is pretty much the way to go. And the bosses after Tetcha are pretty much trash, even the final boss. For some reason they either become incredibly susceptible to easy parries or you can just keep running behind them and they'll keep using the same ineffective attack (looking at you kao-khon). And the Story? Massive trash. Aside from the intro, you never get a feeling that the kids 'don't belong'. And then there's mayor Walden, which for no reason whatsoever, is treated like utter trash in the ending for zero reasons. If my may go into spoilers. The kids pretty much go on to decide he's wrong and he should be incarcerated. I'm pretty Sure Walden wasn't the one who initially attacked the goblin society. In fact, what he did as mayor is. -take in a bunch of goblin refugees. -build a machine to protect the town -gave the kids access to get deeper into the gates -never exploited the professor or anyone really -save the teens from Dwarvengobben -agrees to the compromise In other words, the writing is utter and complete trash, with the only interesting tidbits was the interaction of the goblins before you slay them one by one.

Thanks for supporting more indie content!!
If you like action RPGs this definitely will be more your style. I think the marketing is doing themselves a disservice by calling it a brawler.
Getting this on Switch, thanks for the review
Hope you enjoy it!

Fair point! Thanks for checking out the review!
@@IDreamofIndie great review by the way!

We hung out in very different circles of friends then - we all cussed like sailors as teenagers whenever there wasn't an adult around lmfao

-take in a bunch of goblin refugees.
-build a machine to protect the town
-gave the kids access to get deeper into the gates
-never exploited the professor or anyone really
-save the teens from Dwarvengobben
-agrees to the compromise
In other words, the writing is utter and complete trash, with the only interesting tidbits was the interaction of the goblins before you slay them one by one.
Sorry you didn't have a better experience with the game!
0:20 either you suck or this gameplay sucks.
Slash slash. Get wrecked. Slash Slash, get wrecked.
That doesn't seem very intuitive
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel with an engagement!
I can't stand these Daniel Tiger looking graphics. At least they put in that depth perception filter, but even still it looks like kaka.
Thanks for watching!
@@IDreamofIndie thanks for the videos!
