I love this podcast as a super normie retail investor. I feel like I've snuck into some super elite VC club, and get to enjoy their insights & knowledge. Super cool stuff you guys are doing here!
@@thetobyg lol I love how you equate "normie retal investor" with being an idiot. I just DCA into an index fund every month. Pretty sure everyone started off as a newbie at some point. Good one chief.

👍 High quality content! You don’t get these content in traditional media outlets but on high growth tech platform says a lot about inherent value trapped in quality tech stocks despite inflation and higher interest rates.
Perfectly said! I am also here to learn how to invest after listening to a lady on tv talk about the importance of investing and how she made 7 figure in 3 month, somehow the video taught me nothing and left me even more confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas on how to invest for retirement

Chamath may talk a lot but his not shyness in asking questions and commenting which brings in other comments helps me as a newbie to this game. Way to take one for the new investors team.
I would love to see Cathy Woods chat with you guys. This may sound controversial but you guys generally agree on everything. Bill is Warren Buffet smart in that he’s disciplined on the VC fundamentals; which many need to hear. Cathy seems to be pioneering something new around investing in innovation in public markets. Cathy doesn’t get questioned by quality people like Bill, David, et al and I bet you guys would respect the way she breaks things down; and it would make for a rich convo. Not that this wasn’t. Love your podcast; it’s God sent!🙏
I have to say, Im not a finance savvy and I may only understand a 5% of all this but I love the dynamic of your videos. Keep up the healthy smart humor guys. You guys are the best. This should become a weekly TV program. Great work guys. Oh Chamath, I love the way you dress brother.👍🏻💪🏼
Can’t believe this content is free for retail investors like us. What are you doing in terms of getting “smart money” advice to investors for no cost is similar to what Jack Bogle did for the retail community
39:55 talk about day dreaming.. Hyperinflation is real and it is probably coming sooner than you think. I agree panicing is not the solution, but wishful thinking is not either.
At 37:30 Sachs question is pretty much what Kevin O’learys rational was for FTX. Going off of all these ppl he respected and assumed that they did the due diligence when in the end no one did as they all were operating under the same assumption
Would love to hear Brad's thoughts on supply side inflation and how our economy & the fed would react if/when they overstep with policy in a slowing global growth environment. My guess is a policy pivot & foot off the brake
David Sacks might have been quite during this but he's constantly moving his foot/leg which would suggest a type of nervous excitement. He really was enjoying the conversation. Or he's working on his N.E.A.Ts to keep trim.
Round trip ripper Friday for the fish and the fishermen. No breaks for the rubes. The nine hundred thirty billion decline from the opening bell had the fish gasping as the margin clerks called. With a well executed flick of the wrist at 1:30 the fishermen bought Jets as the market recovered nine hundred thirty billion
These guys are amazing, I feel like they are doings community service, I am an ignorant investor and learning as I go. I learn more from these guys than anywhere else. I love this Chanel amd what Jason Chamath, Friedberg and Sacks. Do you have any advice for software architects to join you guys in some way? Would love to work for you guys. You guys get it.
Agree completely with Chamath regarding distributing public shares from the fund. Many of us invest in venture capital to take advantage of the early stage growth benefit of this asset class. Once a company has an exit, whether public or acquisition, I'm no longer in the asset class that I was initially allocated to and may want my money back to reinvest back into earlier stage private companies. I am personally equally allocated between public stocks, commercial real estate, and venture capital and try to maintain that allocation for portfolio sake as much as possible.
Good job. I was curious about a point Jason made about Adam Neumann (WeWork). Jason are you really ready to send him a check? Wasn't sure if that was a sarcastic comment, or if you were serious. You sounded serious.
That’s exactly right. They’re underestimating how high OER, energy and food costs will stay for how long. Inflation topping doesn’t mean inflation crashing. Fed is going to keep raising until they break the bubble economy completely. Most of these startups are screwed.
@9:00 i wonder if you asked anyone at a dollar store or main street if food and gas has doubled ...this is for other people , no need to look at a chart.
Jason is really on fire organizing this event and being such a great host and funny/smart interviewer. Quite the opposite to what Freidberg said in "We keep him around because he have a producer we don't have to pay". I'd say Friedberg being negative the last couple of shows is the one who really needs to step it up and inject energy to the group.
