Ariel is maybe my favorite TPS guest ever. Such an amazing person and player. Mile End was a breath of fresh air for me. Played endlessly through Covid.
“I like the two pickups, three-way selector switch, hardtail…” Sounds like this man just needs a good Tele ;) Thank you for the music, Ariel! Thank you for another great episode, Dan and Mick!
You guys have been talking about Ariel Posen for years and I’ve never bothered to check him out…. I will now. What a beautifully musical player and he appears to be a thoroughly decent human too. What’s not to like. Great interview too.
Ariel is an amazing guitar player, songwriter, can't stress that enough. Love his stuff. But also check out Brothers Landreth, they've been on TPS a few times and Ariel was once part of the band. Amazing in their own right, Joey Landreth is a monster slide player. If you dig Ariel, I'll bet you'll love Bros Landreth.
As a Fellow Canadian, I am huge fan and follower of Ariel! He is a big influence on me doing my own thing. I love that he is delving into his own style and tone and it is incredibly inspiring! thanks guys!!!
Love the idea of exploring what's right for the song. So many times I was overplaying when I should have been listening to how I fit into the mix. Listening to my improvisation on recording alerted me to the listening process.
I was at that gig in Swindon (if it was the Josh Smith gig with Ariel supporting), I got an AP plectrum and a Josh Smith T-Shirt and Album. I concur, Ariel's performance was out of this world, and what hit me most was his singing voice. His guitar playing is stellar, but his voice is something else. It's his understanding of melody that's so special. Everything he does serves the song, and that's the biggest lesson I take from him and others like him. It was a truly special evening.
Ariel is a Dude of our times… group of us went to the Thekla gig last night and it was full of musical awesomeness, loved the tip of the hat to Big John 😎🙏
My goodness🤯 that dude never ceases to amaze me. I don’t know if it’s just the open tuning or what but between him and Joey, the emotion comes through so much clearer for some reason than most guitar players now days. Ariel you are a beast man! Keep up the good work!!!
Some the best tones and playing I’ve ever heard! I don’t think Ariel realises how much homework he’s set me after watching this episode, great video leg ends as always 👊🏽
Im lucky enough to have seen him twice in the past 18 months and he is just such an astonishing musician. Killer guitar player, great singer, and super cool guy.
What an utterly inspiring episode. It’s always such a joy to hear Ariel’s playing and perspective - that section on how he thinks about harmony was a bit mind blowing (and certainly humbling!) Thanks guys!
Dan, Mick, Ariel. Thank you very very much love everything about that vidéo. I always end up watching Ariel's episode multiple times and this one gonna be no different. Hope to see you in France!
Brilliant episode! I've seen Ariel live five times (including at the Swindon gig mentioned by Dan) and he's astonishingly good: great songs, amazing voice and killer guitar! Just seen him again in Guildford on his latest tour and he was so, so good, and that guitar tone ... !
Rewatching after getting home from his gig in St.Albans, some truly inspirational stuff! I have never been to another gig like it and he's a really nice guy too, we both had our TPS over shirts on!
Man. Is there somebody out there today with such a specific tone ? Such a personal tone ! You know who's playing without seeing it. And man this guy is smart ! Ariel does not do what other guitarists do (on the pedalboard and on the fretboard) ! Such an inspiration for the tone quest we're all on ! Great show guys !
What an awesome show, Ariel is so inspiring and talented !! I’ve noticed Dan has a real ‘tell’ when the guest is extra special to him - although all guests are special to Dan, some just more so ;-) He becomes very still, clasps his hands in his lap and is so focused - almost like he is meditating and transported by the talent in the room. It’s Dan and Mick that make the magic, and the guests are the bonus. Cheers !
Such a fan of Ariel. Did a course or 2 of his and he has taught me a lot. Great guy. I was also lucky enough to win a competition he did for a signed Broadcast AP a while back... been on my board ever since!!
Ariel has to be one of my favourite players. I don’t actually listen to his music much but I could listen to him noodle for hours. The Anderson’s days with Pete were so great.
Amazing. Good friends sure make the world go round. And the sound quality was flawless, well worth the intense effort to make it all right and get the show out in only a few days. One can only hope Ariel's concert attendance feels the love. Really well done, all.
I was only vaguely aware of Ariel prior to watching this, I knew he played slide but that's about it. So therefore am very glad you've managed to post this before his tour as I have just got tickets for his Leeds show and am very, very much looking forward to it!
Further to Dan’s story, Ariel has a great way of bringing the audience in to his performances. A true sonic artist and thoroughly nice bloke!! Fantastic episode, cheers.
My absolute favorite player of the last 5-6 years. I am thankful that appearances on TPS and Anderton's channel introduced me to Ariel's talent. I had the chance to see him live and have a chat with him a few years ago, just an absolute musician's musician.
Managed to catch up with Ariel at his Q+A session in Sutton on Tues. It's been 7 years since hanging out with Ariel for a week on a Guitar Breaks holiday and he still inspires me to become a better guitarist. Thanks for having Ariel on your show.
Just Wow 🤯Amazing tones, lessons, philosophies, and I'm in love with that Strat looks and p90 setup. Big thanks and kudos to Ariel for sharing all this with all of us so thoughtfully! Great timing as well, finally ordered a Harmonious Monk mk2, and alongside it also have Ariel's signature slide incoming, can't wait to have fun with harmonic trem slide stuff :)
The Triads thing that he did with Paul Davids a few months back was so inspirational. Hope everyone here has seen it. Ariel is just such a lovely human 😊
Great show as always guys, what a wonderful human. I had the pleasure to catch him in Dublin earlier in the year, it was unforgettable, so intimate and to witness this man’s talent right up close was just wow. And the band were ace also! Best of Luck AP with the UK tour
Fair play guys for having Ariel on again, brilliant talent and hell of a genuinely nice guy. Saw Ariel and the band in Whelans Dublin last February. Hell of a show. The version of Angeline was amazing. Definitely worth catching a show. If everything aligns, I might be able to travel over for a gig in Liverpool, fingers crossed!
Man, I heard that fuzz an immediately went to look for the pedal… $300… if I knew I could sound like that, I’d consider it. So good. Killer tone. Ariel is great.
I love how Ariel thinks musicaly. A great combo of theory and color to find the guitar melodies and parts and the fact he's still learning. The exact reason I went to school for theory because I wanted to learn the relationship between every note.... It's intervals, scales within, and find the music
So nice to hang with you fellas as always!
Likewise Ariel! Sorry for the cock up earlier. Doh. Fantastic show last night!
I’ve gone back to school and your albums are ALWAYS on while I’m reading and writing. You keep me inspired!
Just that opening alone was so damb inspiring. Thank you!
@@ThatPedalShowthe what? 😂
Loved the Guildford gig
After Mick mentioned the tour, I realised Ariel was 20 minutes from my house tonight, tickets are booked! 👍
Enjoy Stepen. And make sure you stay to the end. Last night's closing song was absolutely un-be-leee-vable.
Ariel is maybe my favorite TPS guest ever. Such an amazing person and player. Mile End was a breath of fresh air for me. Played endlessly through Covid.
Agreed. Oh and Chris Buck, Andy Timmons, Paul Reed Smith ... and ... damn, pretty much all the TPS guests!
Ariel is one of the most tasteful players I’ve ever heard. He has such a knack for putting just the right notes in the right order.
Even better than Eric Morecambe.
“I like the two pickups, three-way selector switch, hardtail…” Sounds like this man just needs a good Tele ;)
Thank you for the music, Ariel! Thank you for another great episode, Dan and Mick!
Ariel is not only an extremely gifted guitarist. He also has the singing chops to match.👍
This is definitely my favourite show ever guys!!!! 🎉❤😊 My favourite pedal dudes and my favourite guitar interpret. Bingo!!!! Love ya! ❤
You guys have been talking about Ariel Posen for years and I’ve never bothered to check him out…. I will now. What a beautifully musical player and he appears to be a thoroughly decent human too. What’s not to like.
Great interview too.

Great Show guys and Ariel is just an amazing guitarist who has a very cool style that sets him apart from other players I love it!
His name should be Ariel Transposen. Awesome sounds and feel. Really enjoyed this!
You win the internet today!
Haha this! 🎉😂😂😂😂❤
I love how Dan looked like a proud dad as Ariel was demonstrating how he uses a lot of the functions of his board. Great episode!
Im lucky enough to have seen him twice in the past 18 months and he is just such an astonishing musician. Killer guitar player, great singer, and super cool guy.
Ariel and TPS…. A match made in heaven and such tone Nirvana.
Ariel is a gift to music and guitar inspiration. Great video !!!
What an utterly inspiring episode. It’s always such a joy to hear Ariel’s playing and perspective - that section on how he thinks about harmony was a bit mind blowing (and certainly humbling!)
Thanks guys!
Dan, Mick, Ariel. Thank you very very much love everything about that vidéo.

Quizzical and aloof!! I love it!! The theory part of this was seriously great and informative!!
Rewatching after getting home from his gig in St.Albans, some truly inspirational stuff! I have never been to another gig like it and he's a really nice guy too, we both had our TPS over shirts on!
Loved what he said about not comparing to Instagram players and doing what ever it takes to get your art out. Amazing
Absolutely love Ariel, phenomenal live.

A canadian, an Aussie and a Brit walk into a guitarshop ... magic
No seriously, great video.
What an awesome guitar player.
Thanks guys!
Such a privilege to watch this gentleman play. I hope, one of these days, Ariel puts Portugal on his tour map.
Just lovely. Thank you to TPS and Ariel.
The tone on the Octafuzz with the slide is divine.
Gospel is the right word, and it is wonderful, Ariel. Fantastic to listen to your progression over the years.
Ariel has to be one of my favourite players. I don’t actually listen to his music much but I could listen to him noodle for hours. The Anderson’s days with Pete were so great.
Great episode. Ariel and his band were fantastic at Thekla, Bristol. Great to see you there Mick!
Love Ariel's work, well done everyone
Amazing. Good friends sure make the world go round. And the sound quality was flawless, well worth the intense effort to make it all right and get the show out in only a few days. One can only hope Ariel's concert attendance feels the love. Really well done, all.
Makes me proud to be Canadian to hear this kind of talent and enthusiasm.
Ariel is always a great guest, what a player, his new blue guitar is fantastic 👍🎸😄
I was only vaguely aware of Ariel prior to watching this, I knew he played slide but that's about it. So therefore am very glad you've managed to post this before his tour as I have just got tickets for his Leeds show and am very, very much looking forward to it!
Good show guys!!Ariel represent!! 🤘🇨🇦👍🤘🇨🇦🎸🎸🇨🇦🤘🤘
Wow killer sounds! 🔥🔥🔥
Further to Dan’s story, Ariel has a great way of bringing the audience in to his performances. A true sonic artist and thoroughly nice bloke!! Fantastic episode, cheers.
Saw Ariel in Guildford, got tickets for final gig in London. Honestly such a phenomenal show, his bass player was also SO tight, bass tone was tasty.
Great to see Ariel and especially Mick its been a while..🎉😂❤
One of the modern greats! My kids will grow up listening to this guy
My absolute favorite player of the last 5-6 years. I am thankful that appearances on TPS and Anderton's channel introduced me to Ariel's talent. I had the chance to see him live and have a chat with him a few years ago, just an absolute musician's musician.
Not many guitarists inspire me the way Ariel does. And his song writing is just superb.
You see Ariel every here and there with guitar stuff but... I gotta say his songs are amazing. Wow.
Damn such nice playing, a lovely guy and that Strat is so cool!
Your Mile End stuff is my absolute favorite, so I can't wait for #3!
Learning something new every video I watch from you! Thanks!!
Managed to catch up with Ariel at his Q+A session in Sutton on Tues. It's been 7 years since hanging out with Ariel for a week on a Guitar Breaks holiday and he still inspires me to become a better guitarist. Thanks for having Ariel on your show.
Will!
Class player. Class human by all I’ve see and and all accounts.
Love this ❤. Tickets booked for tonight 😊
Met Ariel at his Q&A at the wonderful Soundlounge. Such an entertaining night and a lovely guy.
What a great musician!!!!
OMG! I love Ariel’s playing! It’s about time to be back in TPS! Woohoo!!!! Thank you TPS! What a treat for me!!!!
Been wanting to hear more extended stuff with this blue guitar. Love it gents! Thanks to all
That strat is awesome. I feel like he would love a harmony silhouette or something like that
AHHHH HE’S BACKKKK
Love, love, love the intervals discussion! So inspiring!!
Phew, glad we’re back on! And happy Friday, gang!
That guitar is beautiful
Great show with 3 great guys.
Thanks
Epic show.....!
Thanks!
This guy is such a real deal. Dude has some sound all his own.
The Triads thing that he did with Paul Davids a few months back was so inspirational. Hope everyone here has seen it.
Ariel is just such a lovely human 😊
I was living in Mile End when I first found Ariel and records I & II are hands down my favourite guitar pieces ever recorded.
Kudos
Great show as always guys, what a wonderful human. I had the pleasure to catch him in Dublin earlier in the year, it was unforgettable, so intimate and to witness this man’s talent right up close was just wow. And the band were ace also! Best of Luck AP with the UK tour
Amazing how Ariel's sound reminds me of Ry Cooder. Absolutely love it!
Some wise words on learning/ navigating your way through guitar!
A songwriter who is so obviously technologically proficient is a rare thing in my admittedly limited experience. Kudos.
Love Ariel's Music, and the Mile End work. Those are just perfect!
Saw you in Guildford on Wed night, thanks for a great gig - masterclass. Songwriter, singer & player, a psalmist.
14:12 Love how Mick’s face tells it all.
Love it!
Ariel is always amazing. Also, great insight by Dan regarding gospel.
Bloody great - what a wonderful human (and guitarist). Didn't know there was a tour - booked for a gig now though...!
I'm going to see Ariel tonight in cardiff. Perfect timing for this vid. 😁
See you Friday 😎 Liverpool 😁
So excited to see Ariel on TPS! And his masterful employment of those glorious Chase Bliss delays...
I love my AP2. It's so versatile and makes a killer fuzz.
Great show. Thanks!
I couldn’t agree more, beast of a player, and nice guy to boot. If anyone hasn’t seen him they owe it to themselves to go to a show.
Yeah man, witnessed Angeline last night. Woah.
Man, I heard that fuzz an immediately went to look for the pedal… $300… if I knew I could sound like that, I’d consider it. So good. Killer tone. Ariel is great.
And we’re back!
I hope he will come to Norway. Love his style, and music.
Amazing artist
He's so great! This show was amazing and the conversations have inspired me. I am off to make some music!
This guy walks among us, praise be
Loved the conversation about the music theory stuff lads. Incredible video as always
A truly exceptional episode
I love how Ariel thinks musicaly. A great combo of theory and color to find the guitar melodies and parts and the fact he's still learning. The exact reason I went to school for theory because I wanted to learn the relationship between every note.... It's intervals, scales within, and find the music
Can't wait for Mile End III
Gutted that I won't have moved back to the UK until after the tour is over, definitely on my list for the next time though!
Let’s go!!!! ✨
