The first Nixon ad said he was the 38th President. He was the 37th President even with Grover Cleveland counted twice.
Yeah that made me curious as well.

Nixon had some flaws, but he almost won every state (49/50) in 1972! That will never happen again.

@@navaladmiral2962 yes, you are absolutely correct. Nixon managed to bring MN to his camp, but no one has since done it.
I'd rate Nixon's as more impressive. Reagan had that movie star charisma to call on when needed. Nixon pulled it off without that.
@@svenm7264 and helped that McGovern was a terrible candidate and a lot of Democrats didn’t like him. A lot of them either skipped the presidential box or voted for Nixon or just stayed home.

I think Nixon was the last statesman president. Flaws and all, Nixon was a statesman.
