Cobra Firing Systems DMX Integration Full Test - Moving Heads, Lasers, Flames

- Ran a full test the other evening of my DMX / Cobra set up I am planning for the 4th. Had 4 moving heads, 2 lasers, and 5 flame machines. Audio system and LTC timecode sent from audiobox simultaneously on L & R channels to sound system and Rosendahl LTC to midi converter. Midi output feeds Laptop running Compu show SDE and uses that signal for the DMX script trigger. 18R2 starts all systems via audiobox so all in synch.

Very nice! Someday I would like to have something like this controlling fireworks. The flame machines are awesome too!
Not bad chief. I also doing this and run 2 softwares. I use Finale Fireworks to script and export to cobra and audio box. I use Show Buddy to script the DMX effects for par lights, flames, moving heads, lasers etc. Show time, we press start on cobra and play button in show buddy on pc at exact same time. Works well. You can use either cobra audio to ouput to PA system or just use the pc audio output to PA sytem.
I see you call yourself TX Pyro so I assume you are you are in Texas? I am in Texas too, Fort Hood Austin area. We should get together sometime and do something cool.
Thanks.... I wanted to have the cobra start the DMX via timecode so it stayed perfectly synched so thats why I have the midi converter etc... I just press the one cobra button and it all starts. There are not a lot of backyard guys doing this lol. We are in a very small group. It all worked great my 2020 show... check out that video

If I scripted my flame towers and lasers in finale3d and export to cobra creator do I need a dmx controller, I’m new and trying to learn as much as possible.
In my opinion Cobra DMX is good for on off devices like flames. Not sure about your laser because mine has 20+ channels and it can take a lot of line by line coding in show creator. It probably can be done though. I believe the cobra method is best for can lights and flames. IMHO
What Software are you using? please
I am using CompuShow SDE for the DMX control
Can you script flame projectors and pyro with that system
I use the Cobra to initiate the DMX script which is running on a laptop. Timecode from the audio box feeds to the DMX software to synch everything
