small fanfic for sanji (his birthday was this march 2nd!!) :3 ♡ this is uploaded on my onepiece oneshot book (SECOND POV- EX: "Your silhouette was glistening and beautiful upon his gaze.) LATE BIRTHDAY FIC Just like any other on the Thousand Sunny, it was bustling with cheerful laughter and cheers. Although, today was special as it was a certain cook's birthday. The ship has just docked at an island, and they needed resources both for restocking and for the party. "Hey, _____!" The redhead called out to you from the deck, you stepped out from your quarters to meet her. "Yeah, Nami?" "I want you to keep Sanji in the kitchen, somehow. I mean, he'd do anything for a girl anyway so it should be an easy task." You eyed her. "Why not?" She beamed happily, throwing a smile at you. "Okay, ah, and don't let him out the deck, not even a peek! Thanks!" She then trodded off the ship, you sighed. Although you were glad the task would be as easy. A few mates went to get the resources, while the rest started on getting the decorations ready. Your job was to distract Sanji, and you had one idea how to in mind. Knocking on the door, you heard a hum. Given the permission, you stepped inside the kitchen and saw Sanji baking desserts. "Who's t-" The instant the blonde saw you, he went feral mode as his eyes turned into hearts for you. "Hey chef!" You greeted, approaching the man. "_____-chan!~ What brings a lovely lady such as you, here?" He coos, putting down the knife on the chopping board. "Nothing in particular. Though, since you're asking.. Why not bake a cake, with the birthday boy?" Sanji went wide eyes at that. Baking a cake, with you? It was like a dream come true, and of course he immediately agreed. "Anything for you!~" "I have to say though, I'm not an excellent baker. So this should be a fun experience!" You beamed. Sanji absolutely loved your smile, he admitted he felt a little different around you than the other two ladies of the crew. ○ ● ○ While he was busy mixing the cream, butter, sugar and eggs together, you grabbed the flour and slapped a good portion of it on his cheek. Surprised, he faced you with a questionable gaze. "You got flour on me.." "Sorry Sanji, it was an accident!" Not surprised, he immediately forgave you. It was an opportunity while the flour was still there, you couldn't help it. While you were busy laughing mindlessly in your head, you hadn't realize your face was covered in the mentioned powder till you heard Sanji laugh. "You think I'd forgive you so easily after that, my dear _____-chan? If it's a flour war you declare, I will happily engage in." He smiled. To respond, you grabbed the powder, cupped it in your palm and touched his nose. He stammered at the unexpected action, before grabbing from the same bowl and repeated the action. It went on for a good 2 minutes before it came to a halt. "Okay! Okay, stop! The flour is almost finished!" In a fit of laughter that slowly died down, you panted and took a deep breath. Flour was practically all over both of your clothes and face, to the point you seemed like you needed a shower after this. "Oh, geez, we went all out, huh?" Sanji chuckled, rubbing a towel over his face and dusted it with his hands after for good measure. You did the same, before noticing leftover powder on his nose that you had left on a little ago. "You missed a bit." That left Sanji a bit confused. Slowly, you extended your thumb and softly wiped off the excess flour on his nose, unconciously getting closer. The cook felt his cheeks get hotter than lava by the second, the hairs on the back of his neck lifted all the while as he tried to look anywhere but you. "There.. Where were we? Oh, the mix!" You spoke ever so casually, after making him so flushed. "Oh, uh.. Right." You completely forgot about your task, as you had way too much fun spending time with Sanji. Your love for him had grew much deeper. After much later, the cake was finally finished. It was a 3 tier cake, with fondant covering and a few decorations of Sanji's liking then 2 candles as the cherry on top. He could admit, he had a great time baking with you. Infact, he would do it again just to see your smile and joy. Your had voice snapped him back to his state again. "Hey? Sanji?" He blinked once, then twice. Before he nodded his head with a hum. "Yes..?" You sighed silently. "I had a great time with you, especially since I have never baked before. Well, maybe once and that didn't turn out well." Remembering at the memory when you burnt the cupcakes, you laughed awkwardly as you rubbed the back of your neck. "Oh, no worries! It's my pleasure!~ I was so happy you came to me, and asked to bake with me." Sanji took your hand, and you hummed in approval. He brought it up to his lips and tenderly made contact with the back of your hand, kissing it once. This action made you feel hot all of the sudden, and oh so special. "And I'm ever so glad you did, _____.. I couldn't be happier to be spending my time with you, on my birthday, especially." His smile graced his features, his curly brow furrowed gently. His one eye gazing at you passionately, oh how you loved looking into his eyes. The sincerity was there. "Especially..?" You repeated, locking your own gaze into his. "Yes, especially you my dear. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I like you. Not in the way I do to the previous women I have told to, but in a way where I genuinely like you- No, love. I love you, _____. Like no other, and I hope you feel the same way." Sanji sighed, hiding his face in your hand, in fear of your rejection. Even though he was used to that, he couldn't stand when the words of rejection comes out the person he loved. "Sanji." You cupped his cheeks into your palms, slowly sliding your thumb in a circle motion to comfort him. Turning his head, you made him look at you while his cheeks still dusted a dark shade of red. "The feeling is mutual, I love you just as much." His eyes widened at this, a smile finally growing. "Then.. Would you do the honors of being my birthday present?" You couldn't lie, that was smooth as hell. "Of course I will." Your mouth curved, forming a smile as bright as his. Your response just made his heart rate quicken, him being caught off-guard slipped in a opportunity to kiss the cook. So that's what you did. You leaned in, your hands still holding his face as you bring your lips onto his. Sanji felt ecstasy for a moment, but matched your pace and kissed you back with his stubble tickling you. His hands guiding him, and placed it on your hips, gently caressing them. With a pant, you both pulled back for air. "Happy birthday, chef." "Oh, _____-chwan!~" And.. He's nosebleeding. Oh boy. "Shit, Sanji!" Outside the deck, was strings of letters that read "Happy Birthday!", a banquet and many more. While they were finally adding the touches, they felt like they were missing something. "Where's the cake?" Usopp asked. As if on time, you came out with a fallen Sanji in your arms and in the other was the 3 tier cake. "Right here!" Zoro, sitting against the mast sat up cross-legged. His one good eye eyeing you and Sanji. "Why is lovesick boy in your arms all weak? The hell happened?" You just snickered at this, having Robin use her Devil Fruit powers and help you with the cake while you were struggling with the ship's cook. "Nothing bad, don't worry. We were baking a cake." Nami saw Sanji's slight lipstick stained lips and oh so deviously smiled at Usopp. "Pay up!" "Oh come on! This is the last of my berries!" He reluctantly handed the redhead his remaining money, cash sparkling in her eyes. From a distance, she swore she felt a pierce through her with your gaze. "Did you two seriously bet on us? Is this why you specifically wanted me to distract him?!-" "Oh, you know you'd never get together if you didn't! You couldn't even muster a word the first time you tried to confess." The navigator abruptly saying this outloud made you embarrassed. And it seemed like Sanji woke up from that from him shuffling around. He looked at you for a good second, having the same smirk as Nami's. "I didn't know you were planning to confess to me first, _____-chan.." "I got nervous!" You snapped, shoving Sanji away. "Sorry, sorry!" He ever so gracefully laughed, as it rang in ur ears wanting to hear him all over again. "Oh, but the party.. Thank you, everyone. Especially you, my love. I wouldn't have asked for a better present other than you." Sanji exclaimed, his hands taking yours and kissed it tenderly like before. This time, you cupped his cheeks again, swiped a few strands of his blonde hair and kissed his forehead. "I couldn't have asked for anyone better."
