A bit of an old boy here from a different culture and with a different language, (similar aims and hopes mind) but this gig reminds me of Welsh language festivals of my younger days. We have a Welsh version of This Land, Thoroughly enjoyed this nice one.

Great version, Charlie and the Bhoys always stir up a savage atmosphere,, especially when the play in the Barras.. I come over from the heart of Ireland to cartch them doing their Good Friday gigs.. That's how good they are, I give them my "Irish stamp of approval" for their authenticity! (Something I don't give to many non-Irish bands who play Irish music) These boys might as well be Irish, as they have the whole soul and atmosphere of my country's music down to a tee. Here's to many more years of "CATB" gigs! From Davey, from Longford in Ireland :)

The song that introduced me to these guys was "Let the People Sing" and I had never heard the Irish version of "This Land." It is so lovely. I'm an Irish-American second generation. My Mother was the child of Irish Emigrants to New York. She had no memory of her parents. She knew nothing about Ireland. So sad. I have visited Ireland seven times. I feel it is my Spiritual Homeland.

@josparkes1 I can assure you I am quite genuine, I have been to Ireland, and met the Wolfetones,and chatted with Tommy and Brian, and I visited Kil jail and Glasnevin, and my interest in Ireland is deep and profound. Its history is a source of fascination to me, and I and I had an Irish Grandfather too. Patronising - NEVER !
