I listened to ONE rally mix this morning and youtube shoved me face first into Group B lore. Learned all about the courses, the racers, *the death toll* . Group B (probably for the best as far as safety goes) may not be a thing anymore, but goddamn if it isn't sick a hell.
Group B was an amazing thing, it was a double edged sword though. The lack of regulations allowed manufactures to create some truly amazing machines. However the lack of regulations allowed for really bad accidents to happen, overpowered cars with little safety and well it was a recipe for tragedy. Unfortunately after too many horrible crashes that sadly ended the lives of people, Group B was shut down. From it we did get some amazing cars such as the Audi TT for example. The first gen being super boxy as shown in the video has to be one of my favorite cars from that time. Gotta give recognition to the Lancia Strada as well.
