Any flat frame (supplied either through "Apply Flat Frame" or the new Auto Select) will be processed according to the formula for calibration (as shown on the Calibration window). Which is to say, the image values are divided by the flat, to (ideally) achieve a flat field. As to whether or not you decide to supply a master flat or a single flat, that choice is entirely up to the user. But typically you would supply a master flat, rather than a single raw flat frame. Note that it is also possible to create these master flats in Tycho.
Thanks Daniel. When choosing "apply flat frame" are you referring to select a masterflat previously done in pixinsight for example ?
